just realised I never posted this.. here is my son (+ his cat, slug).. backstory below..

General/background:

- Roughly 80 years old (he lost track of time), was ghoul-ified at the age of 22 a short few months after the bombs fell and has stayed that way physically (except for the mutations) 

- Runs his own tiny hardware shop near a large foot-traffic road close to Diamond City, and charges newcomers more than standard simply because he can

- His dad was a mechanic pre-war, and he was set to take over his shop when he retired. as his dad died during the blast, he could only keep that dream alive by starting his own shop in memory of him

- His left hand is badly burned due to him having held open one of the makeshift bunker doors for the neighbourhood stray the day the bombs fell (hence the gloves). Initially the cat was called Snail due to his lazy nature and snail-shell colours, but when the cat began losing its fur in its own ghoul-ification process, Howie renamed him as Slug

- His welding goggles double as both a tool for his welding/tinkering work, and as sunglasses due to his light-sensitive eyes

Personality:

- Generally very humorous, favours self deprecating jokes

- Likes to think himself overly charismatic with the ability to win almost anyone over, but is very clumsy with his words AND his body — so his awkwardness is his main charm

- Very extroverted due to how little interactions he has with people, as many people avoid ghouls
