Thank you for asking! I get this question a lot, so here's a post I made on another blog where I actually just got asked this yesterday!

Hiya! It’s not entirely the people who identify with the term who are harmful, but also the term itself. The term “endogenic system” conflates itself with a serious trauma disorder (the term “system” means “system of dissociated parts” or “system of parts”). this disorder is not possible to get “naturally” or without any sort of trauma. Usually this argument comes along with other forms of misinformation such as complete disregard for entire sections of the DSM, comparing of anti-endos to transmeds, etc. etc.

In addition, often these communities use other origin terms like “Stressgenic” which can cause someone to minimize their trauma and go “oh, well surely it wasnt bad enough to be traumagenic. I must be stressgenic” (speaking from personal experience here.) or, theres “origins” like “urmomgenic” and “urdadgenic” which are totally not harmful at all I can’t see why anybody might’ve thought that would be offensive

I don’t believe endos are faking, but really I think its been long enough and they should change their language. that’s all anybody’s asking for! For example, there is a blog who hangs around the anti-endo community who I think used to identify as some sort of soulbond system? not entirely sure but my point is that we’re accepting of people as long as theyre not spreading or supporting misinformation about the disorder
