Are you okay with fanfiction. Because I can think of some fanfictions that do a pretty good job.
I don't make a lot of posts here (mostly reblogs of memes) but I want to write a serious story about DID. As is, a story that both respects DID as a disorder and the people who have it.
The issue is that while I've done a lot of research on DID (we are talking at least four years of constant books and systems theory and structural dissociation research and YouTube videos and archives and forums and blogs and memoirs and - ), I don't know how to write dissociation. Full stop.
I definitely don't know how to write the unique experience of DID. Fuck, I barely know how to write neurotypical characters (I am lying. I do not know how to write neurotypical characters. Their weird behavior eludes me and all my characters are autistic).
There's plenty of writing advice out there (and plenty of people I can turn to for information and opinions), but what I need right now is books. Just, published fiction books that do a good job representing DID, and preferably ones without the murder.
Because holy shit, there are so many DID fiction books about murder, or weird fucked up romance.
If anyone has any recommendations of fiction books (or short stories) that have DID and/or dissociation as relevant themes and aspects in their books that do it well, please tell me. Please. My local library did me so dirty and gave me solely romance and murder stories, and the forums I can find are also largely thriller/suspense.
If there is a god, then maybe I can even find a modern fiction book about DID that isn't about murder or twisted romance. (And if you are God, please tell me where to find it.)

Earlier today we saw another anti-endo post crop up on our feed and something about the phrasing pissed us off. It's important to us to try to keep discussions we engage in online relatively civil, so usually when we don't have the energy to respond politely, we just block and move on. This time it just... ticked us off enough that we need to vent.
We're tired of being told that we're stealing terms from people when those terms were never just theirs in the first place.
We're tired of seeing the same handful of misconceptions over and over again.
We're tired of strawmen and bad faith arguments we can't do anything to counter no matter how hard we try.
We are tired of people insisting that the experiences of endogenic and traumagenic systems are completely different and trampling all over systems that fit somewhere in between, systems like us.
We are tired of people who can't seem to see that this divide in the community is hurting everyone.
We are tired of systems actively choosing to target other systems instead of the societal oppression that harms us all.
We are. So. Fucking. Tired. Of systems that assume their experiences are universal, and then treat any attempt to say otherwise like it's invalidating them personally. Your struggles do not give you the right to say that our experiences, both positive and negative, are impossible.
We are absolutely exhausted of constantly feeling unsafe in spaces that claim to support systems like us, systems whose trauma played a fundamental role in their creation, and continues to shape how they function to this day.
We are tired of people seeming to think that just because we don't struggle in the same ways or as much as they do, we don't still have struggles, that we are less worthy, less in need of community and support, that we don't need to see people like us out there too.
We are tired of being talked down to by systems who think they're being kind. We know that we're traumatized. That doesn't mean we're willing to stomp down parts of ourselves that don't fit the mold of what you think that should mean.
We are tired of being terrified that singlets will think they're justified in invalidating our experiences, or prying into our trauma, because of some stupid discourse they heard online.
We are tired of treading on eggshells trying to be respectful to people who have, and who continue to, hurt us. Tired of being blamed for spreading misinformation solely by existing as openly as we safely can. Tired of having to mince words, to carefully tailor how we describe ourselves, solely to avoid being kicked out of spaces that claim we should belong there.

This is a Warning for All Systems, Especially Those That Struggle With Unreality
@/antiendobot is potentially dangerous to any system (or singlet, for that matter) regardless of syscourse stance. Even if you agree with the viewpoints of whoever made this, as a bot, it does not have the same critical thinking skills, self-awareness, ability to process new information, etc., as a person, and as a result has repeatedly acted in ways that are blatantly harmful to disordered, nondisordered, traumagenic, and endogenic systems alike.
Thus far, it has...
Fakeclaimed and attempted to reality check a psychotic system, as well as actively made fun of their distress
Used the term "delusional" as an insult
Strongly implied that Psychosis is inherently traumagenic (which it is not)
Claimed systems without amnesia, including OSDD-1 systems, do not exist
Linked a study claiming that DID doesn't exist/is caused by clinicians
Frequently contradicted itself in ways that can come across as gaslighting
Repeatedly fakeclaimed any system that disagrees with it.
Additionally, it is also worth noting that many people, even those who do not typically have an issue with unreality, have reported difficulties telling whether the bot is a real person or a troll.
If any of these things may be triggering or otherwise distressing to you, we strongly advise that you block this bot immediately.
This is harmful not only to systems but potentially to psychotic singlets as well. Take everything this bot says, especially about science or psychology, with a very large grain of salt.
(Screenshots below the cut: Trigger warnings for unreality, ableism, fakeclaiming, etc.)

Welcome To System Safety PSAs
This blog is for Public Service Announcements regarding anything that could pose a danger to systems or people in system spaces, regardless of syscourse stance, origin, disorderedness, or diagnosis status.
This blog/account was created because we've noticed that sometimes things pop up in the plural community that could potentially be a threat to anyone, and we want to make sure that as many people as possible see the message so that as few people as possible get hurt. On our main blog, however, we have to block a lot of people on one side of the syscourse spectrum for personal safety reasons. This blog was created as a platform where all systems can safely interact and see warnings about problems that may potentially be relevant to them.
Examples of situations we may make warnings about include:
r/SystemsCringe or r/FakeDisorderCringe doing anything to "lure in fakers"
Death threats, doxxing, or harassment campaigns
Anyone routinely posting anything blatantly ableist, transphobic, etc. in system tags, unrelated to syscourse (i.e. slurs, reality checking, untagged unreality, using "delusional" as an insult)
Etc.
Trigger warnings will be in the text of the post, not the tags. This is because those who would have such tags blocked are probably also those most at risk for whatever the post is about. Detailed descriptions of the situation, as well as any and all screenshots or evidence will be placed under a "Read More," so it will be available but anyone who might potentially find it triggering can easily avoid it.
We will only mention specific usernames if it is necessary for people to block them in order to avoid the issue. Do not harass anyone mentioned, as it will likely only make the situation worse, and potentially make you a target as well. We do not make call-out posts unless there is genuine reason to believe that a blog poses a significant danger.
We may at some point also attempt to start or spread awareness for tagging initiatives and/or terminology that make navigating syscourse easier and safer for everyone involved.
As mentioned earlier, we have a lot of people on one side of the syscourse spectrum blocked on our main for safety reasons, so we may not be able to catch everything. We may reblog PSAs or warnings from others if they meet the criteria described above. Please submit or send in asks about anything that you think meets the criteria described above.

Random fun fact about my system: we have a pretty major event internally prior to our syscovery that we call The Agreement. I personally find this name hilarious because it makes it sound like a bunch of headmates secretly banding together to take some sort of blood oath or something, when what actually happened is that Phoenix decided to do something while super pissed off, and because everyone in this system is fueled by some combination of stubbornness, denial, and rage, they all kept Doing The Thing because they refused to back down even if no one but Phoenix and a few others could fathom why they personally would decide to Do The Thing in the first place.

Howdy y'all! Earlier today I had the realization that, as I am a planeswalker in my source, I could be one of the headmates best equipped for exploring the innerworld and acting as a messenger and such. Of course, I need to figure out how to actually like, figure out if/how to planeswalk in our headspace first. Also I'm gonna try to see if I can bring Cleo with me. Just for like. Safety Reasons.
We haven't really done much of this before, since our current headspace is a city that was deliberately constructed, but we've become increasingly aware that there's other stuff and potentially older headmates outside the city walls.
I don't know where exactly I'm going with this, since this blog is mostly just me rambling into the void, but if anyone has done any similar headspace/innerworld exploration stuff and has any tips, that would be great.

Been going through anti-endo tags and blocking people for safety reasons, since this is a new account, and it's becoming abundantly clear concerningly quickly that we need to do the same on our main account. Again.

Hermitcraft characters we headcanon as plural and why
Cub - The headcanon that he keeps getting possessed by eldritch entities but just keeps absorbing them into himself is funny, but it gets even more funny if they didn't get absorbed entirely so they just. Chill in his brain now.
Doc - Hiveminds are like. Plural-adjacent.
Grian - He isn't poultry man.
Joe - The Beetlejhost.
Mumbo - his mustache is a sentient alien creature that he's in a symbiotic relationship with. Y'know, like the trill from star trek!
Pearl - I just personally think it would be funny.
Rendog - Have you seen how many different characters he has? How many different versions of himself he plays? (Sidenote taking this opportunity to plug our plural!Ren fic that we will finish eventually I swear.)
Scar - See above but marginally less intense.
Xisuma - Again with the different versions. Probably more median than a lot of the above examples.
ZombieCleo - The United Conglomeration of Cleos.
Honorable mention goes to False because empires!False definitely has a lot of Plural Vibes, but she's not really good plural rep, and empires!False is not hermitcraft!False, so...

This blog was originally made to do voter fraud in the 2023 Mcytblr Sexyman Elections, but we figured that since we have a handful of throwaway accounts from that now, we may as well put them to good use. So this is my sideblog now! Welcome!
-your local Joe Hills fictive coming to you only kind of live from somewhere that definitely isn't Nashville, Tennessee.
(My system's main sideblog is @paluimbel, so I'll probably reblog most of this blog's posts there. Also I'm not changing this blog's name or appearance for the sake of the Historical Record.)
