i decided this deserves to see the light of day on here because i Cannot be normal about this. HOW CAN I BE NORMAL ABOUT THIS. (spoiler discussion below)

not only does vhas lose nearly everything that allows him to do what he does (he loses his spells. he loses his ability to perform. he loses his ability to even just communicate which is crucial to how people work nevermind the fact that he’s been kicked aside all of his life until he met the crew) but vhas still recognizes his friends. i know that’s rules as written but jeez vhas still Recognizes his friends

in rules as written that could just mean “oh he knows which side he’s fighting for and he’ll continue to fight on that side” but then wally flavored it further and added in the bit in vhas’ mind. he’s just scared now because he lost nearly everything but even still he has the crew. vhas knows he still has the crew. even though he’s fully on the back foot he still believes in the crew not just to save the world or even him but as his friends.

and then there’s the societal implications of what intelligence means but that’s a thing for another day thank you flowers for algernon

I can't draw but if I could I'd make a little comic where Paul invites Emma to his "nephew's football game" and when they get there with all their Nighthawk paraphernalia she asks which one is his nephew. And he just beams with pride and points at Richie in the mascot costume, who has face planted in front of the cheerleaders.
