out of curiosity what does Cooper's voice sound like because when reading IWMOY I always imagined him having a squeakier version of Louis's voice from meet the robinsons but the singing voice of Jorge Rivera Herranz

It’s interesting because Cooper’s voice changes depending on what part of the story I’m reading. It’s different when he’s five, to when he’s seven, thirteen, fifteen— blah, blah, blah. But out of all the voices I’ve tried to search for, NONE of them fit exactly like I hear him in my head 😫💔. Some come close but eh, not 100% “YES YES YES” Yknow? In my head, he like??? has a sort of scratchy— kinda unhinge tone— it’s sort of mischievous but not melodramatic. It’s a casual 14 year old teen voice with a bit of roughness (don’t confuse it with deepness) that’s due to his puberty.

The thing is— his voice starts off in a sort of higher pitch compared to other kids his age (which is why Kenny jokes that Cooper is some 12 year old kid back in chapter 1), but as the story progresses, he gets older and his voice changes. By chapter 7, I already imagine cooper in a whole different voice! SPOILER for chapter 8 but it turns out it was Cooper’s birthday and he turns 15 by that point forward. If you really think about it, it’s pretty tragic that he has spent all this time away from his friends and family… he’s gonna be returning back home with a completely different voice 😞… it’s been that long… Sigh.

As for his singing voice.. erm?? I haven’t really thought about that? Maybe something that matches close to how he talks l guess?? I don’t think Cooper would be an amazing singer, but he’s got some nice chords and good tone?? Let’s leave it at that.

Rewatched one of my favorite shows ever with my friends and I HATED it because I HATED THE ENDING!!! That’s right, I hated the ENDING because it was SOOOO GOOD AND I ACTUALLY LOVED IT AND IM SO FUCKING SAD RIGHT NOW OH MY GOD! This entire rewatch just made me realize how much

I ACTUALLY HATE ENDINGS IN GENERAL!

The thing is, when I get into a series, whether it’s a movie, game, book, fic, etc. and it’s really good to the point I become obsessed, I get so enthralled into this world that when it’s finally over, I get a weird… feeling of melancholy?

When the ending of a really good series is mediocre compared to the entire story it’s mostly: “oh… erm, ok I guess 🧍‍♂️?” When the ending is sad or really bad, I get pissed off tho. Cuz what you mean we went through all that just for… that??? 😟???

But when you follow something so good, you feel yourself get lost, and it ends in either a bittersweet or in a satisfying way… I feel…. So???? Empty?? Like, it’s a good feeling, but also a sad one? Like, I feel my soul actually fall into something so raw and vulnerable. I can’t even explain it. It gets me paralyzed. And I just start crying from overwhelming melancholy. It’s not really a bad thing, but I just don’t know what to do with such a heavy feeling. Sometimes I wish I can just forget the series and rewatch/reread/replay everything all over again for the first time, so I can feel those emotions. Sometimes I want to talk about it all the time with other people, and other times, I’m in search for other series that make me feel like that again.

Though this yap post mostly started because I just finished rewatching one of my favorite shows (with a good bittersweet ending), it also made me realize how much I’ve been dreading to finish writing the ending of one of my own series. I’m scared it’s not gonna be good enough, but I’m also scared of it being good and done, and then suddenly be forgotten?? As if this entire series was just a blip in someone’s mind as they move on to the next tab on their phone. It seems pretty egotistical, but I genuinely want people to like it so much that they’ll think about it further into the future, that they’ll either come back and reread it, share it with others, or hopefully… maybe change their brain chemistry in a way that gives them this… feeling I’m currently experiencing. I don’t want it to end because a part of me feels that once it ends, it’s over… and I don’t want things to be over.

It’s so— lonely.

What if the next thing is not as good as this? What if it doesn’t hit the same? What if this good feeling was just a lucky accident, and once it’s over, that’s it? Once it’s over, will it really be over?

Everything has to end— eventually. And once everything ends, new things will come out and this whole feeling will come back again. I know this because it has happened to me throughout time and time again with multiple things I’m interested in. The only thing is that this time, it’s something I created. But— I hope you guys end up sticking with me a little longer after the end. Or, i wish you guys would like to stick a while longer.

(and to not judge me for feeling crazy. I’m still emotional right now)

South Park IWMOY Kid’s Music Taste!!

Okay, so I’m finally doing this post, which is also a response to this post here! Yes, I’ve actually had this for a while, do not judge me 🙁.

Cooper

Cooper would listen to almost every genre! Pop, rap, punk, indie, edm, midwest emo shit— yeah, literally everything! He just wants a song to fit his in-current mood. Overall favors a lot of goth music and stuff related to death because that’s so freaking funny guys. He actually gets along with Isa because of this (he would get along with Agatha 🫢). Cooper is also the type of person who would find weird, obscure songs like I Fink U Freeky fun and Emilio would just stare at him like: “…🧍‍♂️ aight bro…” ☠️✋ LMAO!! BUT, like I stated in the headcanon post, he actually listens to reggaeton, bachata, and other Latin American music! Hell fucking yeah you’ll see Isa and Cooper dancing huapangos and cumbia and other shii together at parties (to Kyle’s and Emilio’s displeasure 🥱). Fr tho, I think Kyle wouldn’t mind at first, even find it a bit cute, until they both turn 16/17 and then he’s suddenly all like “hey, hey— too close, buddy 😡!” SKLSKD

Bet you didn’t see that coming! Yeah, he’s into that hip-hop-rap, R&B, phonk, jumpstyle, fast-pace music, and even a bit of hard rock! It’s funny because I can see him finishing having an anxiety attack in secret only to then blast a song about ‘fucking bitches and getting money.’ 🤑🤙 Ayeee. I do think he’ll have a couple of other songs outside of these genres but if you asked him what his favorite genre is, he’d tell you rap 🤷‍♂️. Damn.. Emilio and I would’ve been chill ass friends. I’m not gonna lie, jazz rap has gotten him a bit into poetry and flow writing 🙄…. No, I’m NOT letting him become a sound cloud rapper!!! He just likes the beats !! Remember, he likes going fast and race cars!!! RACE CARS GUYS!!!

Isa

Rock, punk, metal, and all those alternative songs are her main jam!!! Y’know, songs that make her want to break stuff and skater vibe songs too. Or songs that she can jam in her electric guitar! Old school rock music is her favorite because it’s the main genre Stan taught her when she was first learning the electric guitar 🥹🙏. Like with Coop, I do think she will still listens to a bit of everything, but doesn’t play it day-to-day (does that make sense??). Like, if a song blows up and it’s catchy, she’ll probably add it in her library! Probably has a couple of meme songs now that I think about it… OH!!! But Isa and Cooper are the main ones in group karaoke to sing Cupcakke or Ayesha Erotica songs 💅 (no one tell Kyle and Stan that). I don’t doubt she has a cunty playlist for when she feels cunty, or some club music for when she feels like dancing. Yeah, okay fine— she has different playlists for different moods.

A majority of her song list are from female artists I’m not gonna lie. I do picture her having a lot of old classic 70s pop just as much as modern pop. Musicals or songs you’ll hear in movies are straight up going to her library. Since she likes watching a lot of movies, I do think she’ll have some instrumental soundtrack! Very soft tunes— think cottagecore, or even ‘Over the Rainbow’ by Judy Garland. Since I headcanon that both Coop and Kate grew up with a vintage vinyl record of Selena Quintanilla’s hits, I think Kate could’ve fallen in love with that feeling she gets when she listens to her songs. Overall good feel and such a vibe!! Don’t think she doesn’t have sad songs tho… there’s a couple of tear jerkers in there there 😔….

Robin

Robin is interesting, because you would think she only likes one type of genre or every genre. It’s actually in between!!! Sure, she likes goth music and a bit of old school rock songs because of Kyle and Stan— but she also digs songs from different languages, classic music, and a bit of somber-girl music. I like to think that Kyle wanted to be sophisticated for once and took his family to an orchestra or a ballet performance, and Robin fell in love with the music (meanwhile Isa went to a rock concert and fell in love with that instead LMAO). After that, I feel like Robin would want to go to more orchestra/ballet performances with Kyle and they’d have some sweet father-daughter bonding moment 😞❤️‍🩹. By sad girl music, I mean it like it is— sad-girl music— like, you’d hear it in the background of some contemporary dance. I do think she’ll have old 50s songs just like Kate, especially if they’re different languages. For some reason, those songs remind her a lot of her parents, so when she’s in her out of state uni and gets home sick, she’ll play those songs and miss her family so much (save my girl 💔)…
