big 3 placements and what it says about your parents
look for signs prominent in your chart/big 3 (esp moon & rising) to see what it may say about your family. disclaimer that most of the stuff on this post is more on the negative side but of course, the positive side exists. however, astrology deals with past life and karma, showing places you need to learn and grow in this lifetime.
aries: people with aries placements lacked leadership from their parents as a child. nobody put them on the path they were “supposed” to go on so they had to find their own way and fight for themselves. emotions are quick. parents were mellow and hard to grab attention from so they seek partners who are aggressive and hard to pin down.
taurus: taurus placements lacked parents that took responsibility. perhaps they always felt stressed about their financial stability growing up and now either have a strong need to save or a bad habit of spending. there was a lack of comfort from the parents so taurus is always seeking comfort, especially from future partners.
gemini: parents were immature. geminis had to look for their own information and come to their own conclusions. may often have felt like they were the ones parenting. parents over-intellectualized situations so gemini learns to be emotionally unavailable.
cancer: parents may have good at guilt-tripping/emotional manipulation. parents were needy. parents may have been overprotective. the bond with the mother in the past-life is strong- so there is no real “escape” from the mother in this life, so they also seek partners who are motherly.
leo: leo had parents who tend to make things about themselves. life may have often been unpredictable and chaotic. because parents were focused on the outside of things, leo suffered a lot of criticism when they wanted to be themselves, and they turn to others to be proud of them.
virgo: virgos had parents who were overly critical. they wanted things to present in a perfect way. parents could never do any wrong, it would always be a mistake, but when virgo did it, they got in trouble. parents picked favorites, but so did virgo. they seek partners that they can “fix” as they couldn’t criticize their parents back.
libra: libra had parents who were overly aggressive and butt heads a lot, and perhaps tried to drag libra into it. libra had to learn to be the peacemaker and became indecisive in fear of not pleasing everybody at once. they seek relationships where they are the ones compromising but pull out of the relationship easily as well.
scorpio: scorpio came into this world as their parents’ big transformation in their life. parents struggled with intimacy, trust, and power control problems. the scorpio child absorbed much of the pain from their parents. scorpio ends up seeking intense bonds with others, they seek people who can give them the intimacy but they don’t give it back in order to remain in control.
sagittarius: parents always seemed to need space. parents perhaps had strong beliefs and the child eventually learns to think for themselves whether those beliefs need to apply to them. parents were unstable, so sagittarius is flaky. sagittarius seeks partners who are grounded but pull away when they feel their freedom is threatened.
capricorn: capricorn is the child for the parents dealing with their own past/present karma. capricorn learns to guard their emotions closely as there may have been punishment for being open. parents have high standards so they strive to be successful and are afraid of failure in all aspects, including love.
aquarius: aquarius brought their parents out of the their comfort zone. the love received is conditional and never seems to follow the same pattern, so aquarius becomes inconsistent and also detached when others seem to get too close.
pisces: pisces placements had parents who were heavy escapist people. the child was not often a high priority, but without knowing better, saw their parents with rose-colored glasses. they seek people like their parents in hopes of fixing them.

Deity Work
Hey guys, so I’m putting out an inquiry to the greater witchy/pagan community. Do any of you know which deity or deities are associated with foxes and/or coyotes?
I’ve always had an affinity for foxes. My first interaction was when I was three maybe four. It was before dawn and I was in the vehicle with my grandfather on the way to his work. We lived bordering some woodland that surrounded the local middle and high school. One day as we were passing a field I saw a fox sitting there, like it was waiting for something. After we passed the field it got up and left. From that point on every time we passed the field at that time of morning I saw the fox there. The thing is though, that foxes in the wild have a life expectancy of five years. I still see a fox there now to this day despite the fact that this was more than two decades ago. So, it’s either a figment of my mind or a family of foxes live in that area and they somehow all know to sit there and watch until I pass.
I even moved recently to halfway across the country, but I still see foxes in the surrounding field across the main road from my neighborhood. The coyotes are a newer addition, since I moved. So along with the foxes in the morning I now see coyotes as well, and not just see them, but here them. It’s always very late, around midnight that I hear what sounds like a whole pack of them.
I don’t know what either of these signs mean, so if anyone could help me out I would very much appreciate it, and it doesn’t need to just be from European pantheons because I’m Black and Indigenous (from the Seminole Tribe, unfortunately, I’m not in contact with them at this time or I would ask one of the Elders).
Thanks in advanced!

Moon phases | their meanings in your daily life:

cursed image send by: @plutoswrath
I think all of us heard many times about new and full moons each month. We are always given a theme of what they will bring in our life and that they are very important as to how our day that evolve.
Full and new moons always affect the relevant signs they are formed in more than the others moon signs. For example if we have a new moon in leo, this moon phase will affect leo and aqua moons the most, and then all the other signs.
Im not here only to discuss about the full and new moons but rather the whole Lunar circle the moon goes through each month and also share what is most suitable to do in your daily life through the moon phases

There are 8 moon phases during each month (29 days in average but it is almost a month).
The order of the Lunar circle goes like:
The new moon
The Waxing Crescent moon
The first quarter
The Waxing gibbous moon
The full moon
The Waning gibbous moon
The last quarter
The Waning Crascent moon
You can check what moon phase we are having currently here
Lets get with the moon phases.

I. New moon: 🌑
Keywords: new beginnings, a new fresh start, clear slates, new goals and wishes
During the new moon, make sure to make a plan of what you want to achieve and do this current month. Its the best timing to throw all unwanted thoughts and negative emotions or people that bring you down. Its the beginning of a new lunar circle and the end of an old lunar circle, so lets not forget to learn the lessons of the previous circle even if there were hardships and let downs. You need a mental rebirth and not to erase all the experiences you have gone through. Regain all your strength and clear up that head of yours for whats to come. New moon wants to prove you that despite your wrongdoings in the past, you can start again stronger than ever.
Astrology explanation: The current transit sun is in conjunct with the current moon, showing us that our ego and spirit is in the best time to align with our inner emotions and heart. Communicate with what pleases you, what displeases you but also what you need for this month. Your mind may be filled with more emotions of excitement or need for change. It is the time to do so.
II. The Waxing Crescent Moon:
Keywords: self confidence, planning, setting your goals in action, motivation
During the Waxing Crescent Moon, work on your self-confidence and the trust you put in yourself. Motivation can be build up once you hype up yourself that you can reach the goals you set this month. Be compassionate and reassure yourself. Right now, is the moment to build a strong base and start working on the goals you set in the new moon. Ignoring this phase may result in catching yourself off guard in situations you will come across later on. Take even the smallest first step towards those goals. During this period you will most likely feel more motivated or energetic, so use that energy to your advantage.
Astrology explanation: The current transit sun is in semi square with the current moon, meaning that this is a period you should rely on yourself and not others. You may find it hard to focus your energy on the goals you set but you know you have that power in you to do so. It needs hard work and dedication and you can make it if you realise where you stand and what you truly want. Its a period to focus on yourself and change your approach in matters if you catch yourself slacking off
III. The first quarter moon: 🌓
Keywords: reflection, small pause, appreciating yourself, recognising your efforts, rearrange stuff if you need to
During the first quarter moon, take a small pause to see where you are, what you achieved from the goals you set and see if there needs to be any rearrangement in the way you have done so far. Its time to reflect. Check if you have pressured yourself with the goals you set. Challenge is amazing but not to the point it exhausts you. If you feel like things are not working out the way you want, try and clear your mind first. A blurry and frustrated mindset wont help you at all. However, remember to praise yourself no matter the amount of things you did since the new moon. It is indeed a self reflection day but no need to judge or step on yourself.
Astrology explanation: The current transit sun is in square with the current moon and that shows that some uplifting problems may arise if you have been ignoring the previous moon phase. If you feel emotions of dissatisfaction, disappointment or pitifullness, then you have been slacking off and have reached a point you are feeling lost. Take a pause to breath, get your shit together and then continue with a new plan that will work out this time. Remember you do this for yourself.
IV. The Waxing Gibbous moon: 🌔
Keywords: Mindfulness, reaction, action, clear mindset, carefulness, take control
During the Waxing Gibbous moon, try to wake up from your small previous pause and make sure you have set your new goals if you were unsatisfied or stay loyal to the ones you set since the new moon. You should pay attention to small details around you in this this moon phase. Consider your emotions and listen to your guts. If you feel satisfied with how things are going, then you surely do something the right way. If you feel more in a bad mood or in the void, then sth is going slightly wrong with the way you handle or work towards your goals. You may also feel things are getting more intense since the full moon is right after this moon phase. Thats why the need to do things right is very strong at the back of your head.
Astrology explanation. The current sun is in sesquiquadrate with the current moon and that means that even if you feel a bit disappointed in yourself, you should take the action to stand up on your feet. Take control, dont lose yourself right before the full moon. You have come very far.
V. The full moon: 🌕
Keywords: manifestation, divination, inner growth and work, intense emotions
During the full moon, there is a very high tension in energies. You will be in some sort of conflict, trying to understand if you should side with what your mind or heart says. As a result you may struggle to come in terms with how you feel, either if its good or bad. Full moon is a day (okay night but whatever) where you will be more critical of yourself. The effort and hard work you put these two last weeks will be revealed. We are at thw climax of this Lunar circle so if you worked hard, you will be rewarded. If you didnt work hard and decided to push aside this lunar circle, you may be much more sensitive and judgemental than usual.
Astrology explanation: The current transit sun is in opposition with the surrent moon so we know everything will be so hypersensitive. There is a split between your spirit and your feelings. Try to keep them together even though i know its so hard to do so. Dont let the full moon doubt all your skills. You may take things much more at heart than other times. Be careful also not to be critical with others cause other people will also be more sensitive this moon phase and your words could hurt them.
VI. The Waning Gibbous Moon: 🌖
Keywords: Review, Evaluate, take notes, reflect, meditate, be generous
During the waning gibbous moon, if you feel like you have been rewarded for what you have done these weeks that passed, you will get the responsibility to pass down this enthousiasm you feel to others. Make sure not to over do it because this is a period you should calculate and tale notes in what you have done. For my babies that feel down or empty after ths full moon, take this opportunity to evaluate what has happened and what was the reason it went wrong. Meditate and try to tame down the disappointment. Realise that its never too late to start all over again even from this point. The disappointment you feel right now is because you expected more from yourself and knew you could have achieved those goals. SO DONT GIVE UP! Set new and easier goals; goals that you will surely do so the confidence and belief in yourself will appear again. You just need a small push to stand up right now. Surround yourself with the right people but make sure to focus on yourself.
Astrology explanation: the current transit sun is in sesquiquadrate with the current moon so that means that this is a period you should focus on you and only you. Sesquiquadrate focus on the change a person goes through after a disappointment or a failure so right now, may be a period like that for some of you that you have "failed". Sesquiquadrate wants to show you a way out, and thats through focusing on yourself and your wrongdoings.
VII. The last quarter: 🌗
Keywords: Release, Cleanse, let go, move on, stand up, FORGIVE.
During the last quarter moon, reconsider what went wrong with a more clear mindset. It is time to let go of the cause that brought so much negativity or laziness to achieve but for this to happen, you need to find the root of the problem to truly let go. This negativity im talking about could refer to some insecurities and fears you have of challenging yourself but also some beliefs that limit you. Due to them, you were unable to manifest what you wanted. Whatever is holding you back, should be left behind. Forgive yourself and become stronger by accepting where you did wrong. Some of you may hold some anger, grudges or regrets. This is the perfect timing to let go of this type of emotions. Forgiveness is the key. To my babies that felt satisfied with this full moon, remember how and why you accomplished what you just did. It wasnt an easy period for you as well. Let yourself relax and release all stress and anxiety you felt in this Lunar circle. You deserve it most than anyone.
Astrology explanation: Current transit sun is in square with the current moon so this is a challenging period for you. Many things come in question but the point is to learn to overcome every hardship and pain we have experienced. Square puts you in this position of conflict and doubting so you will mature further and grow internally. Take the lessons it needs to give you and dont stay on your ego and how your feelings were hurt.
VIII. The Waning Crescent Moon: 🌘
Keywords: Kindness, Compassion, accept the failure and the success, give it a go next time, try again
During the Waning Crescent moon, i swear if you didnt reach the goals you set from the new moon but is still harsh on yourself, I WILL BITE YOU. Accept what has happened and dont give up. Let yourself regain all the energy that you have wasted. Dont beat yourself up cause we really cant give our best all the time. Learn from your mistakes, pick yourself up proudly and get ready to set new goals you truly want to achieve in the next Lunar circle. If you are from the ones that feel they achieved most of the goals they set this month, CONGRATULATIONS BABY. Make sure to also regain your energy cause a new circle is coming and you will need it. You can give yourself a break but if you want to set new goals, meditate right now and then give it your all just like you did this Lunar circle.
Astrology explanation: The current transit sun is in semi square with the current moon which means that you should prepare yourself what is about to come. Semi square, square and sesquiquadrate have a very similar energy as i have mentioned in another post of mine, so coming to a close, semi square wants to reassure that things are coming to an end with the wounds getting healed and ready for the next Lunar circle.
Sorry for typos, will proof read tomorrow, im so sleepy- HAHSHAHA the phone didnt want to cooperate with nice decorations today too but i tried to make it a bit presentable nonetheless

A very, very brief summary of the upright and reversed meanings of the Major Arcana/trump cards in a tarot deck. I believe that in leaving the summaries vague, it allows you to become familiar with the meanings whilst leaving the deeper meanings open to interpretation for the diviner.

Antisemitism in Witchy Spaces
I decided to start writing down every time I saw/experienced something in hopes that it will help shed light on some specific stuff Jewitches go through. My hope is that people will see antisemitism as a community-wide issue and not the fault of just a few individuals. We all play a part in making it better.
Facebook Witch Group: post is made by a user with a profile picture of a clear nazi swastika. After being notified, admin declares the user is allowed to stay because the group is a “judgement free zone.”
Facebook Witch Group: Jewitch witches were assumed white by default and pitted against other groups, as if Jewish people are leveraging their identity to “play up” their own oppression and undermine others. Many openly Jewish witches are harassed out of the group.
A witchy discord group implements a rule that outlaws all mention of all closed practices (including Judaism) “to protect from appropriation,” even if the person has legitimate claim to the practice. When I pointed out this basically forced me into hiding, admin says, “you can be Jewish. Just not here.”
A user identified themselves as a Kabbalist. Later in the discussion, they were surprised to learn Kabbalah was Jewish in origin, admitted they didn’t know a single Jewish person in real life, and argued that Kabbalah couldn’t be that bad because Arianna Grande also used it. (”Are you saying she’s wrong too??”)
Another user is called out for appropriating Kabbalah and proceeds to sling antisemitic jokes until they are banned.
Just. So many more people appropriating Kabbalah and just becoming really nasty towards any Jewish person that expresses discomfort. (Including one person that even gave themselves a Hebrew username)
A group of users too big to argue with talking about how amaaaazing working with Lilith is. A few Jewish folks respectfully ask them to be mindful of her origins. They’re not given attention. (Or what attention they are given is only to debate her origin.)
Discord server has rooms for every major subcategory of Paganism and one room for “Abrahamic.” Christian witches completely dominate the conversation.
I mention on my blog that I am a proud Jewish person. One of the comments shortly after is “go be Jewish in Israel.”
A Nazi sympathizer joins a Discord group, reveals themselves, is banned, and proceeds to try and join again over and over again through different accounts.
I’m checking my blog activity and see a nazi witchy blog had gone through my blogged and liked a ton of stuff so I’d be sure to see their username (they did this to other notable tumblr blogs as well.) Looking at their bio revealed their agenda of proving Nazis “weren’t all bad,” and their dash included an open invite to a holocaust denial discord server.
A tumblr thread gets big of a bunch of witches arguing to cancel the word Sabbat because of supposed antisemitic origins. Jewish people chime in to insist that we really don’t give a shit about Wiccans using the word Sabbat, and not to speak over Jewish people and declare what we’re offended by. Tumblr arguments ensue.
I get “called out” for baking challah. That’s not antisemitism but it made me laugh really hard. (It’s okay for goyim to bake bread, obviously. Just don’t be weird about it.)
“High magic” and ceremonial practitioners ignoring or brushing off their tradition’s origin in blatant appropriation.
A user shares a magical chant to a group for everyone to use. The chant is in Hebrew. It includes a name of Gd. They didn’t realize that was a part of it.
Another discord group asserts in the rules that members of closed cultures may be openly themselves and discuss their craft, but not in an educational way. A mod practices exclusively Hermetic Kabbalah. I don’t have the strength to get into it. (Thankfully we had an actually decent discussion but it still made me feel kinda shitty.)
Everyone is free to reblog. Jewish witches, please feel free to add your own experiences!

Headless Statue of Queen Arsinoe II
Statue of Queen Arsinoe II identified with the goddess Isis (black granite). Ptolemaic Period, ca. 305-30 BC.
The statue is in a traditional Egyptian striding pose. She stands facing forward with her arms lowered along the sides of the body and her left foot forward.
Greek influence is evident in the contrast between the covered and bare areas of the chest and the shape of the folds of her transparent garment, which shows the beauty of the smooth body.
The body shape is in the Greek style, based on the details in the abdomen, chest, and legs, which are all soft and rounded. The statue is smooth and well polished. Now in the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Antiquities Museum. 842

The Lives, Times, and Deaths of Stars
Who among us doesn’t covertly read tabloid headlines when we pass them by? But if you’re really looking for a dramatic story, you might want to redirect your attention from Hollywood’s stars to the real thing. From birth to death, these burning spheres of gas experience some of the most extreme conditions our cosmos has to offer.
All stars are born in clouds of dust and gas like the Pillars of Creation in the Eagle Nebula pictured below. In these stellar nurseries, clumps of gas form, pulling in more and more mass as time passes. As they grow, these clumps start to spin and heat up. Once they get heavy and hot enough (like, 27 million degrees Fahrenheit or 15 million degrees Celsius), nuclear fusion starts in their cores. This process occurs when protons, the nuclei of hydrogen atoms, squish together to form helium nuclei. This releases a lot of energy, which heats the star and pushes against the force of its gravity. A star is born.

Credit: NASA, ESA and the Hubble Heritage Team (STScI/AURA)
From then on, stars’ life cycles depend on how much mass they have. Scientists typically divide them into two broad categories: low-mass and high-mass stars. (Technically, there’s an intermediate-mass category, but we’ll stick with these two to keep it straightforward!)
Low-mass stars
A low-mass star has a mass eight times the Sun’s or less and can burn steadily for billions of years. As it reaches the end of its life, its core runs out of hydrogen to convert into helium. Because the energy produced by fusion is the only force fighting gravity’s tendency to pull matter together, the core starts to collapse. But squeezing the core also increases its temperature and pressure, so much so that its helium starts to fuse into carbon, which also releases energy. The core rebounds a little, but the star’s atmosphere expands a lot, eventually turning into a red giant star and destroying any nearby planets. (Don’t worry, though, this is several billion years away for our Sun!)
Red giants become unstable and begin pulsating, periodically inflating and ejecting some of their atmospheres. Eventually, all of the star’s outer layers blow away, creating an expanding cloud of dust and gas misleadingly called a planetary nebula. (There are no planets involved.)

Credit: NASA, ESA, and the Hubble Heritage Team (STScI/AURA)
All that’s left of the star is its core, now called a white dwarf, a roughly Earth-sized stellar cinder that gradually cools over billions of years. If you could scoop up a teaspoon of its material, it would weigh more than a pickup truck. (Scientists recently found a potential planet closely orbiting a white dwarf. It somehow managed to survive the star’s chaotic, destructive history!)
High-mass stars
A high-mass star has a mass eight times the Sun’s or more and may only live for millions of years. (Rigel, a blue supergiant in the constellation Orion, pictured below, is 18 times the Sun’s mass.)

Credit: Rogelio Bernal Andreo
A high-mass star starts out doing the same things as a low-mass star, but it doesn’t stop at fusing helium into carbon. When the core runs out of helium, it shrinks, heats up, and starts converting its carbon into neon, which releases energy. Later, the core fuses the neon it produced into oxygen. Then, as the neon runs out, the core converts oxygen into silicon. Finally, this silicon fuses into iron. These processes produce energy that keeps the core from collapsing, but each new fuel buys it less and less time. By the point silicon fuses into iron, the star runs out of fuel in a matter of days. The next step would be fusing iron into some heavier element, but doing requires energy instead of releasing it.
The star’s iron core collapses until forces between the nuclei push the brakes, and then it rebounds back to its original size. This change creates a shock wave that travels through the star’s outer layers. The result is a huge explosion called a supernova.
What’s left behind depends on the star’s initial mass. Remember, a high-mass star is anything with a mass more than eight times the Sun’s — which is a huge range! A star on the lower end of this spectrum leaves behind a city-size, superdense neutron star. (Some of these weird objects can spin faster than blender blades and have powerful magnetic fields. A teaspoon of their material would weigh as much as a mountain.)
At even higher masses, the star’s core turns into a black hole, one of the most bizarre cosmic objects out there. Black holes have such strong gravity that light can’t escape them. If you tried to get a teaspoon of material to weigh, you wouldn’t get it back once it crossed the event horizon — unless it could travel faster than the speed of light, and we don’t know of anything that can! (We’re a long way from visiting a black hole, but if you ever find yourself near one, there are some important safety considerations you should keep in mind.)
The explosion also leaves behind a cloud of debris called a supernova remnant. These and planetary nebulae from low-mass stars are the sources of many of the elements we find on Earth. Their dust and gas will one day become a part of other stars, starting the whole process over again.
That’s a very brief summary of the lives, times, and deaths of stars. (Remember, there’s that whole intermediate-mass category we glossed over!) To keep up with the most recent stellar news, follow NASA Universe on Twitter and Facebook.
