Production Update!

Hello everyone! I am so excited to let you all know that the digital bundle of the Chronicles Zine has been sent out to all of our supporters via email. Please double check your spam folder if you can't find it!

I want to take this moment to thank everyone for supporting this project and being an absolutely amazing community - your support means the world to us!

Please be aware that the French and Spanish translations have not been uploaded to the digital merchandise folder at this time, we are hard at work polishing them up, and hope you enjoy the English, German, and Portuguese translations in the meantime! An update post will go up on our social media to let everyone know when these translations are available, we thank you for your patience!

If you didn't get a chance to buy a physical copy of the zine, or would like to purchase a digital copy, please follow our Tumblr @qsmpzine to stay up-to-date on when our leftovers sale will go live! Over Easy

"Over Easy" is a Seussian poem about becoming an egg—specifically, Gegg. It has an upbeat tone, but underneath that, it's about the idea of consumability: How consumed by sorrow must you be to make yourself consumable?

Accompanied by absolutely incredible art by @yeoldeghostofmushrooms! Any cropping mistakes are entirely mine, since the formatting was originally designed for a book.

Yellow-yolked and smooth as jokes, Eggs are tasty treats for folks! Happy like a brand-new father, No one’s sad when eggs are offered!

For you can eat an egg a thousand ways, From boiled hard to lightly braised; So to love an egg is not so tough, And to be an egg is to be enough.

So be an egg, an egg that’s green, The greatest egg the island’s seen! Be an egg! Sticky! Slimy! A shell to hinder those who try me!

And what to call this egg, indeed? Well, his eggishness is guaranteed! He’s got a shell, and all the parts, So welcome Gegg into your hearts!

Here! Take this Gegg into your hand, Or toss it in an oiled pan! Geggs are tasty, it is judged; Geggs are ultimately loved.

Yes! Loved are eggs who have a father— Quackity! The thief, the robber! He’ll be a good father, surely; And love a Gegg epicurely.

Together, they destroy those against A Gegg and father recommenced! Rob and burn and run amok! Together, they will eat you up!

And yet… a father doesn’t last; A slime will always be outcast. Then, at the end, a Gegg is alone, Nothing but grime, down to the bone.

But… what if Gegg would always last? He need not be loved if he is vast. What if Gegg could not be escaped? Your thirst for egg will now be slaked!

Oh, just one Gegg was not enough, So now machines create the stuff! Look! A Gegg over here, a Gegg over there; Now every islander has to care!

But what of the first, the Gegg original? He’s gone on a path that is political! Gegg for president, the cry rings out! Oh, anarchy’s what he’s about!

Gegg is adored, Geggs all around; A presidential Gegg astounds! Finally, finally, the people know: Gegg is the star of the show!

Yes, the star is Gegg, as you can see; With Gegg, “you” don’t have to be “me”! Gegg! Gegg… What was… Right.

Gegg is now the revolution! With Gegg, there is retribution! Fight to redeem what we… lost? …did I lose something?

Ahem.

Be a Gegg and defeat the enemy! Devour them with this simple recipe: Be a Gegg, and burn it down! Geggs are all you need around!

And—oh, look, Chay and Lullah! Watch out! They might fool ya! They love to prank around and joke, Like yellow-yolked Gegg folks!
