Light an incense, any kind you wish, and wave the smoke around your candle, if using a jar make sure to get into the jar and around the top, and speak the Hymn. If it's within your head that is okay, although saying them out loud can be very fun. Light the candle and let it burn to the end, if a jar candle light and relight as you are able to stay within the house with the candle.

Whenever I see a queer invalidate another queer's relationship with god, I just get disappointed. "We need more complex queers!" You can't even handle religious queer people.

I love religious queer people so much especially non-Christian religious queer people. I know it can be hard to be queer in religious spaces and hard to be religious in queer spaces but your existence as both religious and queer makes the world better.

It is easier to love yourself when you know that Aphrodite loves you.

She is the Goddess of beauty itself. If Aphrodite can perceive you, a mere mortal, and regard you as beautiful just the way you are, then there is really no point in thinking otherwise.

There have been multiple times where I've gotten spiritual gut punches because I was sitting there degrading myself. To call yourself ugly is to disagree with her word!

Aphrodite, my love, I thank you for the confidence you have granted me. Knowing you love me has made life more worthwhile. I am forever indebted to You.

How is everyone doing? Today is wellness Wednesday, make sure to include some wellness into your routine!

I'm working currently on a post that talks about how I got started in spirituality and what put me on this course, so keep a look out!

But for now, stop, breathe, grab yourself some tea/water/coffee/whatever your drink of choice is, and just sit with yourself for a moment. Listen to your body, tell your body how much you are thankful for it just for being your body. Relax, you will be okay, unpause yourself when you feel it is time.

Meditation Monday

Hello all! Happy Monday, how about we start our morning with some meditation and yoga, hm?

I've been using this song lately for my meditation time and I adore this channel for my morning yoga! And I know, I know I can hear you saying;

But Hazel, how do I meditate!?

Honestly, however you want! But I can give you the way that I prefer to meditate. First I do my morning yoga (this video), then I will take a break to make myself some tea and light a candle or an incense, any scent, any colour, and then I will sit crossed legged and begin my playlist or certain song I feel called too and close my eyes. I then will do breathing exercises, my favorite one being alternating nostril breathing. Close the right nostril and inhale through the left nostril, exhaling through the right nostril, then closing the left nostril and repeat, holding for around three seconds after inhaling and exhaling. Although you can look up many different ways to do your breathing exercises this is just one way that I go about it personally.

Queeritual: A spiritual blog for queer people

Hello! Welcome to this blog’s first post and thank you for giving it a read in advance.

Are you tired of taking in spiritual content and having it be heavily gendered? I know I sure am. On a serious note let’s dive into . . .

Why did you make this blog?

Perfect question! I made this blog because I was personally a bit annoyed by every time I entered a decently popular spiritual space I would get called a woman, with the scattered “... and men too!”. I assumed there had to be other people out there that have the same uncomfortability as me when it comes to gendered terms that are also on a spiritual journey and wanted to make a space for them and I figured a blog here on Tumblr could be a good first step!

Okay… Who are you?

Another perfect question, and honestly I’m just some spiritual queer person who wanted a space for spiritual advice and conversations to be less gendered. You can call me Hazel, I use they/them pronouns, and I’m a very young twenty one years old. I don’t have any crazy degrees to throw around, I am just a person who is spiritual and practices as often as I am able to between working and life in general.

What are you going to share?

Anything and everything! From music playlists I make when I meditate, to what I use within in a spiritual sense to gain my bearings in the world. I want to create a very raw and real space here with you all, so some posts may be hard to read. I will always suggest getting some tea, reading any content warnings and seeing if you have the mental energy to read it. If not, who cares? Maybe you’ll be ready later, maybe you won’t be, not every post has to be read.
