I think everyone in the IPC smoke

Sapphire, Amber and Topaz smoke thin cigarettes, with Topaz preferring the ones that have this button for flavour

Sugilite and Opal dome thick cigars and it's rather funny to be with Opal on the meeting, seeing him with one. There were a few times where new employees would berate him for that ans ask who gave it to him. It's always amusing for Sugilite.

Jade and pearl use long cigarette holders when they smoke cigarettes. For Jade it's aesthetic, for pearl, i feel like she doesn't want to touch the cigarette. Why? Who knows.

Obsidian and Agate use pipes. Obsidian uses those small, European style, like you may see in old Sherlock movies, while Agate uses the long ones, more asian style.

Aventurine smokes the cheapest thick cigarette he can find. He can afford something fancier, something more suitable for a cornerstone, but what's the point, really? He just needs to get through the day. He needs something that he wouldn't pity if it fell from trembling hands. He needs something that he can buy in bulk as he goes very fast through a single pack. He needs something he wouldn't be sad about if Ratio throws it away again.

Ratio isn't a cornerstone and maybe that's why he doesn't smoke. Only watches Aventurine do it. He doesn't think he can talk him out of this habit, so he doesn't bother. He just tells him not to smoke at home. He just throws away the packs he can find. He just inhales the smoke with the kiss and coughs just to hear Aventurine apologise and see him throw the half-smoked cigarette away. He just makes a face when he smells the tobacco and thanks all Aeons Aventurine isn't stupid enough to use something heavier.

He just listens to Aventurine's breathing, hoping it won't falter. He just presses his lips in a thin line when Aventurine ugly-coughs. He just frowns when Aventurine has shortness of breath after a minor walk.

He just tells him to go snd check with his doctor if he's good. He just hopes he will quit. He just hopes that he still has time to do so.
