ANZAC day the squad troop and trecked for the day to score some sweet pic for the Ben ‘the lad’ jamen our tutor and we got some goodies and a neat concept but the juicy idea will be saved for a later post, so enjoy to be visually stimulated.

the images posted above are of a google image of Newcastle CBD buildings that have filters placed over sections used as an example of some of the brainstormed ideas of the group project

some of the members including myself discussed the possibility of:

- using a section hunter street - or- the whole length of the street  - or - multiple areas stitched together 

- with sections of the street painted/drawn/shopped 

- split in sections vertically in multiple panels - or - randomly shaped sections varying from small to large 

- to come together as a complete image - or - multiple complete images

the initial idea is to utilize the individuals, in the group, artistic disciplines and their practitional capabilities as we have to create a complete work within a short amount of weeks. this could be time effective: as we could work on sections separately, each member can contribute evenly or at least take on what they feel is achievable.

things that would need to be worked on: 

- how does this reflect as a concept of ‘newcastle CBD’ how deep do we go, what exactly do we want to say with this (if we continue with it)

- how does this stand out among the other artworks at the exhibition

- who is our audience

also find the questions we’re meant to answer.

Pitch concept idea

So after walking around the Newcastle cbd a few things stood out most, the old buildings, the new buildings the 'future' revitalisation projects and the lack of traditional/indigenous inspired designs with in the Newcastle CBD. So I feel a great creative pitch would be to incorporate all these aspects of Newcastles history into an artistic viewing. Specifically a focus on creating a small series of stop motion animated shorts that displayed facets of Newcastle in its many stages of development - traditional aboriginal Newcastle (Awabakal) - colonial settlement and its beginnings that can be sourced on the Living histories site - the industrial boom of the coal shipping - modern building and rebuilding - the revitalisation project that's happening now - Newcastles 'future' an interpretation of what it could look like

walked down most of king street and settled at the park to eat. the recording and audio with it were speed up cause who wants to watch a 16 minute long video of walking. no thanks

the revitalise Newcastle project seems pretty neat, seeing plans to have more grass and gardens incorporated into the spaces intrigues me most cause the city at the moment where they are planing to do these restructures are mostly just ugly grey scale ares, concrete jungle like most big cities. 

so maybe an art project centered around the innovations that could be made to the areas either new contemporary ideas or possibly heritage/ historically invigorating designs.

CIND 1001 week 3 this is an audio recording of the night train pulling in and out outside the house. I've used some of the settings that come free with the program Filmora. I used a plain black back ground and after effects of what they call Snow 1, Snow 2, Leaf 1 and Star 1 these effects are only used to give who ever watches it something to look at and you can also completely ignore it.
