I’m really upset that we didn’t get to go to Bingtown. It was shaping up to be a greatest hits tour returning to all the old beloved locations, and I’m disappointed Bingtown has been left far behind. It didn’t need to be long, I just wanted a little nosy at how it’s going there.

The average person in the six duchies hits rock bottom 3 times a year factoid is actually just a statistical error. The average person hits rock bottom 0 times a year. Fitzchivalry Farseer, hits rock bottom everyday, is an outlier and should not have been counted

Oh Elliania! Kettricken! Just… dropping it all on Nettle and Fitz in the most public way possible.
I do love that Elliania’s MO appears to be cause extreme chaos very publicly and everyone else just has to deal with it. Dutiful is clearly very experienced at winging it.

“Duchess Celerity of Bearns had aged gracefully.” (Fool’s Quest, p 33)
Good, I’m glad Celerity is doing well.

“He wouldn’t do that to me. No. Almost certainly he would.” (Fool’s Assassin, p389).
I love how true that is. I love them.
(But where is the Fool? Where is our beloved Beloved? Stop faffing about and reunite damn it.)

Molly being pregnant for over two years is horrifying…
I keep coming back to that thought…

OK so I’ve finally made it to Fool’s Assassin and… what do you mean the Fool send Fitz a message but he didn’t get it my poor heart omg.
And all the while there’s Fitz casually thinking about how long it’s been since he last saw the Fool, the other part of his soul… “Almost ten years since I last saw the Fool.” And “That was a different sort of loneliness.” Oh poor Fitz.

Rereading Fool’s Fate and there’s a casual mention of Celerity of Bearns being rumoured to be witted and I was delighted to have her mentioned.
I don’t know why I’m so fond of her. But now I am.

Deeply amused that after Civil brings up his suspicion that Fitz and the Fool are lovers and they both deny it, Fitz then promptly spends the night in the Fool’s tent.

The first time I read the Liveship Traders trilogy I really genuinely did not realise that Amber was the Fool. Now that I’m rereading it with that awareness I’m absolutely baffled that I didn’t at least suspect?? There’s so many hints??
To be fair (?) I actually have little memory of Amber from my first reading.

I had forgotten how unhinged Kennit is. I remember if not liking him then certainly feeling sorry for him and I guess assuming that he’d end up being a decent person due to being a POV character, but rereading Ship of Magic he’s kind of scary and not the most sane. I still feel sorry for him though.

It is. It must be. Because Verity broke the window in the map tower, and when the keepers and Alise find the map tower, it’s got a broken window pane.
Wait, is Fitz in Kelsingra?
I’d forgotten he slipped into a mystery Elderling city in Assassin’s Quest, and having read the Rain Wild Chronicles recently, the descriptions seem to match Kelsingra? I hope I’m spelling that right. Or maybe it’s just another Elderling city and they all kind of look a bit the same. Or maybe it doesn’t matter…
(But the place they carve the dragons isn’t there, I don’t think.)
This is why I’m rereading them, there’s all these details I’ve forgotten and that I miss because it’s been too long since I read the first few trilogies.

‘You may leave,’ the Fool told her grandly. ‘Unfortunately I still live here.’
Assassin’s Quest.
I do love him so much.
Oh I’d entirely forgotten about the scene where Fitz was feverishly apologising to everyone and telling Verity he was coming while the Fool just tallied it all up.
I’m glad they’re reunited.
