The #IWD2021 campaign theme is #ChooseToChallenge I truly believe we would live in a dramatically better world if we had the full talent and imagination of girls and women around the world. That talent and imagination is consistently impeded by obstacles and biases that can and must be challenged. How do we do that? Challenge gender bias and inequality by speaking up! Challenge recruiters to find diverse candidates and hold roles open until they do! Challenge managers to evaluate diverse candidates for promotions and projects. Challenge schools to overcome biases in admissions and testing. Marcus Aurelius is known for saying "the impediment to action advances action. What stands in the way, becomes the way."
