My goal with making this post is to use my platform to raise awareness and encourage solidarity and action for the people of Palestine. Over the past few weeks, I have felt powerless to watch the destruction of Gaza before the world's eyes. However, I realized that I still have a large platform despite this blog's inactivity. With this, I would like to share information about Palestine and what you can do to help.

In the above post, I have sought out videos of Palestinian food, culture, art, architecture, and nature to share. Israeli propaganda is trying adamantly to dehumanize the population of Palestine in order to further justify their genocide. Regardless, no matter where you are in the world, humans recognize and understand what it is to be human. What it is to make art, to share food with your loved ones, to travel, and laugh, and sing. To experience heartbreak and hardship, and to experience joy. To dream about the future. To stand up for what we believe in, to fight in the face of injustice.

If you are an American citizen, use your voice to stand up for what's right. Contact your representatives. Demand a ceasefire in Gaza. Boycott companies and celebrities who voice their support of the Israeli settler state. Protest. Donate. Organize. Fight. We are strongest when in community with each other. Our US tax dollars directly fund the murder of Gazan civilians. Make it known that we will not stand idly by while news outlets and propagandists lie to our faces about the atrocities enacted by the IDF and the Knesset.

type in what you want, i usually also add 'stim' at the end of this, i.e.: soft pink stim.

find a gif you like

Save The Entire Post (preferably the original poster's post) To Your Drafts

then when you have finished putting your board together copy the link and Link The Post In Your Own Post Whether It Be In A Bit Of Text Or An Emoji.

Do Not Put It In The Image Description

Do Not Hold Onto The Link Til Someone Asks For The Credit/Link

Do Not Make The Link To The Original Source Inaccessable Whatsoever

If You Cannot Find The Original Post (sometimes people link to a post with no source, if the post doesn't state that the gifs are from their own video or from a youtube/instagram/etc video, then the gif is probably not theirs to begin with) Then /Do Not Use The Fucking Gif/ I Do Not Care How Well It Fits. why it matters: people have to make the gifs, it’s a way to show respect and appreciation towards their efforts. we wouldn’t be able to create what we do without them!

okay but the original post was deleted. now what?: posts get deleted, blogs deactivate, it happens you’ll run into it eventually. cite it to the last post you can before you reach a dead end. why? again, it shows respect and that you tried. it’s also important to some people that they know where their getting their gifs from. it may not seem like it but you can tell a lot about a defunct blog from who used their gif.

but how do you do it?

it’s so simple and it takes like two seconds

1) find the gif you want

for this example i’ll be using these cats from @heartnosekid

2) save the one you want

you know how to save an image silly press and hold until options pop up and click save

3) copy the post link

one of the most vital steps! click this little arrow

and then press copy

now you have your link! but where does it go?

4) keep track of your links

i like to use notes app to make a list of my links. you can use any document app like google docs or even make a draft post on tumblr to keep them there. it doesn’t really matter how, just as long as you keep track of them

5) adding it to your post

so you’re ready to post, yippee!!! organize your gifs how you please and then add text to where you’ll link your sources. i like to use x’s like

with each section representing a row so it’s easy to get to the gif someone might want

but you can do whatever you want! get funky with it use emojis idk have fun

add your marker and then highlight it

while highlighted click the little paper clip icon

that’ll bring this pop up. paste your link in the box and then click add link

congratulations you’ve done it! that’s all there is to it. mistakes will happen. you might source something wrong or link to a defunct page but that’s alright! as a gif maker, seeing someone make a good attempt with a mistake is better than no attempt at all.
