I took my little brother (autistic, mostly non verbal) out and he was using his voice keyboard to tell me something, and this little boy (maybe 4 or 5?) heard him and asked me "Is he a robot??" I tried to explain to him that no, he isn't a robot, he just communicates differently, but my darling brother was in the background max volume "I am robot I am robot I am robot I am robot"

#I JUST had this happen at a con I sold at last weekend!#I was exploring the artist alley while up from my table for a bathroom break#and what do I see but a cat shaped button for sale? not just any cat shaped button tho#it was freaking Matamune Shaman King#I’ve NEVER seen another AA artist have Shaman King stuff beside me!#’is that… Matamune?’#<- me on recognizing the thing#anyway the artist and I had a mutual moment of understanding and brief freak out over it#I’ve since followed them on here and their other socials except deviantArt and I need to throw them a watch there too#also tho So Many People had a similar moment coming by my table and seeing some of my more niche stuff#(not SK specifically but like I’ve got some Hetalia buttons for example)#(and Slayers mini prints - those are always a crowd pleaser for older weebs like myself)#(heck even my Fate stuff since admittedly Fate is a bit more niche in the meatspace)#(at least in the western US that seems to be the case)#but ye point is: make what you love!#these have been rambling tags with Usagi#tune in next time for more oversharing

#polls#already married and heck no I did not change my surname#far too much paperwork#I learned that when my mom switched back to her maiden name before marrying current stepdad#obvs when she married him she took his name#in-laws don’t mind and while my mom was at first like ‘well it’s what is expected’ she doesn’t seem to care now?#the only time I even regret keeping my name a little is when I have to spell it out#wife’s surname is easier to spell so that would’ve been the One advantage of making the switch#but also as prev mentioned: in this political environment it’s Not Worth It#that said I’m p sure my church records auto-switched it to wife’s surname cause that’s just the norm#and I don’t mind that - tho being in the same ward as my in-laws it must get confusing as to#which ‘sister (surname)’ they mean when talking abt me or my MIL#probably all the better that we don’t really go to church so there’s less of that confusion#these have been rambling tags with Usagi#tune in next time for more oversharing
