Many small black beetles which were a common sight on this particular log. After flooding, I found them elsewhere under logs.
The flooding seems to have brought these ground / wood burrowing insects to the surface.

Tineid moth I found in a light trap some weeks ago. I'm really interested in this one, since I'm pretty certain I've found ID:
( here )
The problem is that I don't know if W. dysgnoia occurs here. The BOLD website has specimens collected from French Polynesia, with a 1986 paper specifically noting Hiva Oa as the island of distribution (Clarke 1986).
In other words, I don't think this species should be in Australia.
I just don't know enough to make any sort of ID. Even if the wing patterns seem to match, there are many, many undescribed species out there. I just want to provide the information that I have currently found.

Two large Sarrothripini moths.
Possibly in the Blenina genus, but there's a few Sarrothripini moths like this. The species B. donans has a wide range of varying wing patterns, making it difficult to really pin-point ID. B. donans seems like a possible ID, but I'm not too sure.

Rather interesting looking twirler moth that I unfortunately haven't found ID for. Its dark colour helps it blend in well, as there are many dead bits of leaves around which have turned completely black.
