For the inaugural round of the @destielaureversebb, I participated as an artist. My work was claimed by the wonderful team of @bleuzombie and @valandrawrites.

They were wonderfully supportive partners, and I'm so happy that my artwork could inspire their fic: Darwin Never Tried This. My second artwork was in turn inspired by the fic, and came out very nicely.

I went into this wanting to use a kind of "cut paper" shadowbox effect; each level of darkness is the result of successive layers of ink (digitally painted in Rebelle.) It took a bit of recalibration to "sculpt" the negative space first, then work my way deeper.

I was very frustrated by my first piece right up until the last edit before submitting it to claims, but it worked out okay!

When it came time to do the second piece, I was able to create a composition that made use of the technique rather than fighting against it. It also helped that the fic gave me GLOWING GOO.

(a short semi-fix-it fic inspired by @spnpocweek’s day 5 prompt, “o death”)

Part 1: Logic problems

1. A lateral thinking puzzle: A young man is lying dead on the floor of an underground bunker. The bunker is sealed and warded against all plausible enemies. There is no weapon near him. What happened? What happens next?

2. It’s dark where you are, but there’s light somewhere close. You know that much. Let’s say some lights are upstairs, and you are in the cellar. Whether or not there’s a good reason you’re here is outside the bounds of this problem. Three switches in front of you are wired at random to three lights upstairs. You don’t know this house, or at least you know less about it than you thought you did. How do you flip the switches to figure out the wiring?

It’s a simple question. But remember: You can only leave the cellar once.

y'all....I'm desperate. I'm looking for a post. I have 16000 likes and have searched through thousands of them and havent found it. I have tried to search yalls blogs to find it and have come up empty. help.

its that post about how sometimes fanfic becomes so removed from the canon that it's unrecognizable. and then they do a long winded and overly specific description of the two characters being shipped. and then follow it up with something about how they landed on the perfect middle ground between characters you'd never guess are dean winchester and characters who are immediately recognizable as dean winchester.
