That's a wrap.

That’s a wrap, well not quite, it’s just the beginning of the rest of my journey! Twelve months ago, I started this mastery journey purposing to complete my Masters Capstone Thesis in Public Relations through Full Sail University. I have now submitted my Final Thesis Paper and Capstone Project overview video and am overjoyed with my accomplishment. Prior to starting this journey, I wrote this about this final course, “Let’s culminate it all. Through my capstone project I will bring all aspects I’ve learned the past twelve months together to demonstrate what I’ve learned from each course along the way. I will present a completed website meeting all criteria of a public relations plan along with a researched and written thesis of my PR plan.” I have my website, which like all things continues to be a work in progress. But most importantly to me is resiliency. I have been faced with numerous adversities, unplanned, during this time, including fracturing and dislocating my right elbow and shattering my wrists bilaterally. The elbow healing went quickly, leaving me with a popping and catching from a piece of my olecranon process that broke off floating in my joint. The wrists required multiple surgeries, ultimately resulting in my radius and ulna in both wrists being fused together with internal fixation.

This month has served to tie it all together. While there wasn’t much in the way of new learning this month, it served more to polish up some key ideas and get everything compiled into one cohesive paper and presentation. I’ve been following the progress throughout this campaign, but it was neat to look back at where the campaign began and the progress my client had made throughout the campaign. I did enjoy reviewing the presentation material again from Nancy Duarte. I studied a lot of her material in my Digital Cinematography degree program, and it was a nice refresher. Now it’s time to put everything into practice and pursue more clients. My current capstone client has already asked me to reassess this campaign and develop a new plan of action for them to continue their upward trend on social media. Along with continue to drive their brand awareness within their target market. There are several new concepts we have been in discussion together on that will potentially open the door for a new type of buyer for them. Those buyers have already been there, but this is an opportunity to market to them.
