Married to the Enemy by R.S. Lively
Another accidentally married book. This just happens to be one of the better ones.
Whitley is your basic home town girl. She’s going to college, working, and doing volunteer work. She is a “tree hugger”, literally.
Logan is your rich boy next door.
Logan and Whitley have two things in common. The beloved diner, where Whitley works, and Logan used to go with his dad, and Whitley’s brother.
The diner is a special for both of them, mainly because of Tops, the owner. He is like a grandfather to Whitley and was Logan’s dads best friend.
Through a few different circumstances, Logan and Whitley’s paths collide a few times. Until Logan asks her on a date. He uses something against her to get her to say yes.
When they start dating, things seem okay, at least, for two people who really have nothing in common at all. But their time together is mind-blowing, and Whitley gives him her V-Card.
After dating for a while, on a drunken night in Vegas, they tie the knot. Whitley wakes up panicking. Logan is the complete opposite. They may not have gotten married the way they would have liked, but he’s happy.
But when Whitley walks out, Logan becomes a shell.
After a few weeks apart, Whitley finds herself in a predicament, at the same time her roommate tells her that Logan called her and that Tops was in the hospital.
This brings the married couple back together. I don’t want to go into too many details, because I think this is one book you should read for yourselves.

My Favorite Mistake by Sarah J Brooks
This book, 5 stars in my heart.
Cody is a great guy, but he comes with a catch. When his father died, he and his siblings were held from their inheritance. The catch to gain their money, they had to get married and stay married for 5 years.
Cody doesn’t want to get married for anything but love. But when he and his friends go to Vegas, and he runs into his sisters best friend from college, Alexis, who is there for a bachelorette party, they hit it off.
After hanging out one night, and getting drunk, they end up at a little chapel.
They are married. For Cody, this is kind of great. For Alexis, it’s the opposite. She has a reality show starting soon, that features her as a single woman, dating in LA. Being married kind of pulls the reigns on this.
But they do like each other, and decide to try to make it work. But Cody hasn’t told her about the inheritance. He’s wanted to, but never “finds the right time”.
When Cody goes out of town on “business” to rent out his Condo in another city, and talk to the estate lawyer, Alexis visits Cody’s sister.
She lets it slip about the money, and Alexis feels betrayed.
When Cody finds out she knows, he tries to talk to her and explain it. She agrees to be interviewed by the lawyer, but that they wouldn’t be a real married couple.
Cody knows he’s in love with her and wants it to work. But Alexis doesn’t.
Cody decides to give her space, and then works out a plan with his friend and her friends, and sets her up to go to a movie audition. But he’s auditioning with her and telling her his feelings.
They work things out and she actually ends up landing the movie. So she gets her dream job and her dream man.
This book is one I recommend, read it, enjoy it.

My First Crush: A Best Friend’s Father Romance by Chloe Morgan
This book is on the shorter side, so it’s a great quick, easy read.
When Marley finds herself back in her hometown after college, she isn’t sure what to do.
After hanging out with her forever best friend, she realizes what a hot dad she has. Even though she has always had a crush on him, she never thought much of it, as do most teens.
But now, it’s different, she’s an adult. The chemistry between Marley, and her best friend’s dad, Shawn, is undeniable. They end up in bed together rather quickly.
After being together a few times, Marley and Shawn find themselves alone in the house, while her friend, Parker, runs out for a quick errand. Marley and Shawn end up making out in the kitchen, and of course, are caught.
Parker freaks out, and the two stop seeing each other. Both are miserable, so as any good romance story, Parker comes around and tells them both they can date and that she just wants them both happy.
Shawn and Marley end up together, and even though there is a large age difference, and it takes time, they are accepted as a couple, and the book ends with their engagement.
Overall, I give this book a good recommendation.

The Virgin Next Door by Stasia Black
This book, by Stasia Black, was one of the better written menage stories I have read. There were a few grammatical errors, but easy to ready through.
This book had it all, passion, great sex scenes, drama, and a baby.
Calla, our main female character, has just went through a lot with her family, and has taken a job at a ranch near where she used to live. Calla is pretty, but is also very tom-boyish.
She has a crush at one of the ranch hands where she will be working, Liam. Liam is the pretty boy, the rich kid from Ireland.
Liam is in the process of “hooking up” in the ladies bathroom at a local bar, when things go south for the two, and when he opens the door, he looks down at the person standing there, telling them the boys bathroom was next door. But it wasn’t a boy. It was Calla.
When Calla gets home that night, humiliated, one of the other ranch hands, Mack, the big, tattoo, scary looking guy, sees her, and they almost kiss. That’s when Liam and the other ranch hands come in.
Eventually, Calla, who is still a virgin, takes the two guys up to her room while they are out of town on a work trip. And she sleeps with both of them.
This isn’t your typical menage story, where the two guys are just into the girl, all three of them are into each other. Liam considers himself a “trysexual”, where he would try anything once. And Mack was in prison, where he was raped for 2 years, and then became a “top”. Mack has taken control of most of the sexual experiences the 3 of them have.
But Mack and Liam have a past. Two very different pasts, but pasts that could bring down their future together as a threesome.
When Calla finds out she’s pregnant, she’s scared. Her own family medical history is weighing on her.
What would a menage story be without some kidnapping? It happens, but you’ll have to read to find out.

Savages Next Door by Myra Brightholme
This was a shorter book. Obviously, since I just read it since my last post.
This was a harder book to read. And because of the length, I decided to stick it out. There were a lot of writing errors in this book that made me cringe. The paragraphs were so long, making them feel like run-on sentences.
The story was choppy, and the sex scene that was actually written out, was boring.
The gist of the story was about a girl named Maria, who her family relied on for everything, and treated her like shit, decided to move out, leaving everyone behind. She could only afford an apartment in a “bad” area.
Maria is described as being petite, she’s 5′1″, and has worked in her families auto shop for years. She’s very knowledgeable when it comes to mechanics, audio systems, etc.
While moving in a rain storm, 2 of her neighbors come out and are watching her. She’s trying to be miss independent, but they swoop in and decide to help her.
Over time, she develops a nice friendship with the guys. Then one night, they are all drunk, and they end up together. She wakes up on the couch, mostly naked, obviously having had sex, her chest and neck are covered in “stickiness”, and one of the guys is on the floor, naked, and they are very hung over.
Through her embarrassment, she decides she liked it. And soon after there’s a repeat session, where they are all sober.
Of course, the story isn’t complete without drama, and she’s kidnapped by one of the guys brother, who actually is married to her sister and they have a child together, and he’s trying to get them back to kill the sister and take the child.
There’s a lot of in between in the story line, which builds on to the characters, but truthfully, even though it’s short, I would recommend not picking up this book.

A Bad Case of You by Taylor Holloway
I started this book last night and just finished it. It wasn’t bad. It definitely didn’t get me like the previous book. Minus a couple of grammatical errors throughout the book, it wasn’t badly written.
The characters were complex, which I like, and so that took time to build them up.
We meet Dr. Eric Carter and Nurse Faith. They both like each other, but Faith doesn’t pursue it because she has seen nurses lose their job when a N/Dr relationship fails.
Finally, fate brings them together at the hospital’s NYE party. They both are drunk. They dance together, then the next morning, Faith wakes up in his bed, while Eric is on the floor. Faith freaks out right away and leaves.
Eric is left clueless and curious why his grandmother’s wedding ring is sitting on the table.
When they are both called into their bosses office the next morning, their night before is given some clarity to the previous evening. They were married, on stage, in front of everyone. To make matters worse, they were married by a bishop of the Catholic church.
To make matters worse, their boss decides to promote both of them. Eric, as a first year resident, is shocked that he’s being made head of a department that is being created, while Faith runs the nursing staff of the same department.
After much discussion, they decide to stay married for the sake of the promotions, and when their boss retires in a few months, they’ll get the marriage annulled.
In time, Faith (who’s a virgin) and Eric take their relationship to more than that, and end up sleeping together. This spirals their relationship in so many ups and downs over the next couple of months, they are left full of emotions.
When Eric brings up “dating” officially, Faith agrees, but is concerned. Eric has made his views on marriage well known, and the fact that he doesn’t want kids, leaves Faith unsure of the future.
When Faith finds herself pregnant, she decides the annulment needs to take place quicker than planned, and decides to break things off with Eric and ghost him.
Eric’s sister happens to be a lawyer specializing in Catholic divorces and annulments. She has made things pretty rough for Faith so far, but Faith goes to her anyways. Once their initial paperwork is signed, Faith let’s her know she’s pregnant. His sister decides she cannot represent her because she feels her brother has a right to know, but is now bound by law not to tell him.
She’s sneaky though, and works her way around it. Eric is confused, but overall excited about this. When he and Faith see each other again, in weird circumstances, he professes his love and that he wants this baby with her.
They get “married” in front of family this time, so that they can have a party, and that Faith’s mom can be included.
The story ends with them buying a home together and Faith due soon.
The epilogue picks up with Faith’s best friend, who we meet throughout the book. And her book is not out yet, but I’m sure once it is, we will see more of Faith and Eric, and find out more about their baby.

“Unbreak This Heart” by Betty Shreffler
This is the first book I have read by Betty Shreffler. And let me tell you what, it tugged the heart strings.
I don’t know how many times I was in tears. This will be a long post, with lots of spoilers.
The story begins by introducing us to our main character, Alexandria aka Alex. Alex has been given a certificate from her best friend, Jane, to take 8 weeks of kickboxing and self-defense classes. Alex hasn’t been doing a whole lot lately other than going to work, home, and being with Jane and her husband Kyle.
Alex goes to the gym, and boy, is she in for a surprise, when her trainer is one of the best looking men she’s ever met.
Her trainer, Carter, is mesmerized by her from the start. And he makes his feelings known right after class, when he asks her out. But Alex freaks and actually runs out of the gym after saying “no”.
Alex isn’t ready to date. a year prior, she was the victim of a serial rapist. He took advantage of Alex for 3 hours in her own home, before police got there and he ended up being shot. This caused a whirlwind of events for Alex. Her fiance left her because she couldn’t stand to be touched (what a douchebag). She moved out of her home to a new place, lost her job and basically had to start all over. With the help of Jane and Kyle, she was able to do it.
She got a job for a company that makes the kevlar vests for police, and she was loving it, because she felt that she was finally able to give back to those that helped her through her ordeal.
Fast forward a few lessons, and Jane has a party at her house and invites Alex, but she also invites Carter (he is friends with Kyle, and Jane thought she would try some matchmaking with C & A because she thought they would be perfect together, hence the private kickboxing classes).
At the party, they play a game where the partner needs to be blindfolded. Alex tried, but freaked out and had to get away from everyone. Carter followed, and after some talking, they shared their first kiss.
Now, when you’ve gone so long without contact due to the trauma she experienced, accepting his kisses, and wanting more, was a big deal.
But around the same time she started to like Cater, Todd, her ex-fiancee shows back up in her life, and wants to be with her again. And she tries. Throughout the book, Todd is our antagonist. He is the bad guy. His parents don’t really like Alex, he treats her poorly, he even forces her to go down on him in the car, and doesn’t care that she has tears in her eyes from him being so forceful.
Alex almost feels like she owes it to Todd to try, they were engaged, she loved him, so that has to mean something. Right? Todd even goes so far as threatening Carter to stay away from her.
Throughout her “dating” Todd again, he wants to be physical, she doesn’t want to be, and he actually forces himself inside of her one night, and she pushes him away, and like his history, he leaves her. She completely ends things with him. And he won’t leave her alone.
Eventually, Carter decides enough is enough, and he wants Alex, and he tells her so. She accepts it. They start dating. Things are going great. He’s patient, he’s giving her reasons to trust him. She has nightmares from that night, and he offers to stay with her every night, just holding her, to help her through the nightmares.
Alex loves it. She’s feeling more like herself, she’s even stepped into the realm of oral sex with Carter, both giving and receiving. She’s happy.
But of course, it’s a great book, and it doesn’t stay that way. Todd shows up at her work, and gets down on one knee and proposes to her! Carter happens to show up, and he sees her hesitate, she’s actually thinking about saying “yes”. Carter leaves. Alex makes Todd leave.
Alex turns her phone off, meets with Jane and fills her in on the lunch time events. She knows she wants Carter, and not Todd, but admits she thought about it briefly because of their past.
Alex goes to Carter. They have passionate sex, and then the topic comes up, and he’s livid. He actually accuses her of breakup sex because he really thinks she’s going to go to Todd. But she makes it known that she will not be with Todd, that it’s Carter she wants. Carter, who has taken things slow, who has built up so much trust in the relationship.
Things are going good, again, but it changes. Todd’s dad dies, and he wants Alex at the funeral. Alex says she’ll go, which doesn’t make Carter happy. After a good fight, Alex agrees not to go. Later that day, Todd shows up at her house, drunk, after the funeral. And he eventually pushes Alex, causing her to fall and she hits her face on the coffee table. She screams at him to leave, he tries to help, but she kicks him out.
Carter comes over for dinner as planned, but she doesn’t let him in. She plays the sick card. After getting herself cleaned up, she goes to bed. She’s awoken to Carter asking what happened to her face. She finally admits what happens, he holds her, and they decide that they are going to move in together.
Carter decides he’s going to confront Todd, and goes to his office, where they yell, threaten each other, and Carter pushes Todd. Carter turns to leave, and Todd decides that while his back is turned, to get in a cheap shot, and hits Carter, but Carter is close to the street, and he’s caught off guard, so he falls into traffic, getting hit by a car.
Alex wakes up from a nightmare, realizing that Carter isn’t here. It really hurts, so she finds her phone, and it’s filled with missed calls and texts about Carters accident.
Where would a good book be without some amnesia! Yes, when Carter wakes up from the accident, he doesn’t know anyone. He has lost feeling in his right leg as well.
When the story comes out about what happened, Alex blames herself, but Carter’s family holds her close.
Even not knowing who she is, Carter feels a pull to Alex. He knows he wants her, but wants to make she she isn’t yearning for the him he used to be. It’s almost like starting over, but they do it. Carter falls in love with Alex all over again, and eventually gets his memory back.
The story ends happily, with their marriage in the epilogue.

Romance Novels
I read. And when I say that, I mean A LOT. In 2018, on Kindle Unlimited alone (not counting purchased books), I borrowed 237 books. Most of those I read all the way through. Total books I read through Amazon was 251. And that was in 219 days.
If you know Kindle Unlimited at all, you know that there are a lot of “shorter” books there, so it’s easy to read more than one in a day.
Since I read so often, I wanted to begin by writing about what I have read. Doing little book reviews.
What I will say, is the reviews WILL have spoilers. They are my full on honest opinion of the books. I may even include books that do not fit my fancy, and if I don’t finish it.
My books are all romance. They will include “Daddy”, “Menage”, and many other scenarios.
