I finished it!! I absolutely loooveee Kathleen Glasgow’s literation of addiction. I’m kinda sad the ending was a bit of a disappointment but the idea was definitely there. I’m rlly glad I got to see Bella take on the “real” world as someone who is actively combating their addiction after rehabilitation. Having to cut people off after them not respecting your new boundaries is unfortunately a large part of recovery that Glasgow shows perfectly in the ending. Overall, loved it, another amazing book by Kathleen Glasgow that I will recommend day in and day out to teenagers and adults and everyone tbh.
ALLLSOOOO
Im finally reading glass girl by Kathleen glasglow after having it on hold at the library for the better part of 2 months. Im super excited to read more because last night I was so tired I literally fell asleep on my kindle.

I’m still reading hunger games, I don’t rlly know why it’s taking me so long to get into it but that’s fine. I will prevail.
Besides that I’ve continued reading Cultish by Amanda Montell and absolutely love it. I get disappointed because everytime I have the time to read it I’m so tired I can’t fully be there for it and I actually wanna retain the info :(
I am also reading Boy Parts by Eliza Clark as my “night time” book and am so far very intrigued. Rini is a very intriguing character and I’m looking forward to understanding more abt her.
Aside from that I’ve reread the first 2 Goodnight Pun Pun books (by Inio Asano I believe) after about 5 years and wow I should not have been reading that as a teenager. It’s very… camp. Idk how to describe it.

Currently reading hunger games again since the last time was like... a long time ago. I wanted to read the newest one but my sister got mad and said I had to start over.
I really regret not reading this sooner because its interesting. I think I got like a quarter way through with the second one before giving up (depression, I rlly liked the book). but this time I wont give up.
really looking forward to reading more after work hehe

I finished Yellowface!!!
I went on a car ride (Im a passenger princess), and was able to finish the remainder of R.F. Kuangs Yellowface. I was a bit hesitant to finish it mostly because I knew nothing could get better in such a short amount of time, and I hate to see characters (yes, even awful ones like June) suffer.
Overall, a wonderful book. A horror story of loneliness and one of the only reasons I'm worried about becoming an author. Anyone can make a believable and lovable character, but do you know how hard it is to make a believable and morally confusing character. I cant even pick whether or not I do or don't like June, and that's amazing!!!
As for the ending, as i said before, it made worry. And it kinda wasn't resolved, but also it shouldn't have been. Junes story could go on forever, and shes probably just as messed up as before. I really love the ending now (I did not yesterday), since I see exactly what Kuang was going for.
4.5 stars

Ummm good point. I’ll have to watch thru again because I can’t remember right off my head. Definitely not doing a full DSM-5 evaluation, just a fun thought. As a person with BPD myself I just saw a lot of my actions (when unmedicated) in this episode.
I don’t think everything in the show is true to life because Black Beard and his crew definitely didn’t wear leather and he had mercury put into his penis to cure STDs.
I would loooveee if the reality of Stedes seemingly frivolous actions were due to BPD but it probably wasn’t on purpose which is cool. I think it’s mostly just a headcannon just based off all the history books I’ve read about pirates 🤷🏻♂️.
Watching OFMD again (as always) and in season two when Stede makes Ned walk the plank and then they do some… studying of the battle plans… I 100% believe that Stede was in a manic episode sparked by being kinda tortured.
IRL Stede bonnet was always coined as sporadic and that was hard to guess what he was going to do next. Historians believe that it was some sort of BPD or episodes brought on by an early type of dementia. It is said this is why he bought the ship in the first place (even if he’s doing it in the show bc he’s gay) because he was oddly intrigued by pirates (yes Blackbeard specifically).
Anyways. In the episode before, Stede was supportive and understanding when Ed brought up that he wanted to move at a slower pace. They held hands and moved back into the talking stage, from the “let’s get married” phase. But after Ned showed up and tortured him and Ed and now he’s interrupting his torture session by lowkey kinda flirting with the woman torturing him. Then, he kills his first person just because he was rude to Ed and then had sex with Ed immediately after.
While it could be just a rush of adrenaline from being badass for like kinda the first time. In the times he was around death or even the reason of death, he did not turn around and fuck the closest man to him, he panicked and worried. And more importantly: grieved. But this was not like other times. He also used very little logic, which he’s usually using like…. Way too much.
Anyways that’s why I believe TV Stede Bonnet is a proper example of the IRL Stede bonnet who was known for his random outbursts of passion and energy. And also why I believe TV Stede Bonnet fucked Ed for the first time just during a manic episode.

55% done with Yellowface and completely understanding why this book is so popular. June is such an interesting character and makes us think a lot about ourselves as we’re reading. She’s an unlikable main character and I love it. Makes me question if I’m not being judgmental enough towards her but I’m a naturally empathetic person and I understand everything she’s going thru 100%
Getting thru the part where she is getting soooo much online hate definitely clicks in my brain. It’s a wonderful retelling of how it must feel to be in the position of the internets enemy for the week and it’s making me question my empathy!!!
Absolutely loving this book and I can’t wait to keep reading.

reading update. I am something like 88% done with The survivor wants to die at the end by Adam Silvera but a water spill in my backpack has left the book wet on the last couple pages (don't worry it is my book and not a library book). Woe is me
