my last post on the shifting exercise is getting a lot of traction rn so i also wanna discuss how you can simply connect to your dr emotionally for tonight!

imagine blinking and seeing your DR ceiling, sheets, window. don’t over visualize, don’t try to actually see it. just imagine that and feel the emotion of being in it. of waking in it.

imagine cuddling with your s/o. feel the safeness, the tenderness, the intimacy. let that feeling fill you before setting your intention.

imagine looking at yourself in the mirror. some of us script changes, some of us don’t but regardless—imagine how it will feel to see yourself not here but in your dr?

write a diary entry from the pov of your shifted self right before laying down. ex: “i love it here. everything feels so natural. i’m so proud of myself for getting here.” feel the contentment of already having shifted.

daydream while listening to a dr song. feel the warmth, the alignment, the security. fall asleep knowing it’s yours.

again, these are just examples. you can do whatever you want but i highly recommend associating your intention with an emotion and just letting shifting be simple. no counting. no work. no “have to’s” or “need to’s”. just feel and go.

Updating on this (wasn't planning to!! honestly didn't even think any of these would work) my mum literally just gave me 200 quid for no reason. I hated my original dw intro post from the moment I made it, and I've basically been waiting to rewrite it for the past six months LOL. So here is the updated, far more aesthetically coherent version of my desired reality - complete with a partner section this time‼️We love to see it folks (Seriously though I'm way happier w/ this one!! I was loomed (<< Sort of.. sewn?? Out of a repository of genetic material???? Sci-Fi nonsense. Don't worry about it) into House Highwheel by the recently appointed Housekeeper and her wife, a senior member of the Chancellery Guard. I was loomed specifically to reach Time Lord status, and at first I seemed perfectly capable, a well behaved child and very fast learner- if easily distracted. However, as I grew it became apparent that I had severe errors in the weft leaving me very unwell for weeks at a time. It went unnoticed, then very poorly handled, and by the time the sickness had been edited out of my biodata I had missed a great deal of basic education that I could only scramble to catch up on.

As an eight year old I stared into the Untempered Schism and went mad, leaving me with permanently overactive telepathic senses that I found exhausting, painful and sometimes plain impossible to control, leading me to quite violently invade my peers heads without warning. Between this and my failed basic education I missed the mark spectacularly on my Time Academy placement test, disappointing my Kitchriarch & my mothers, and eventually leading to my dissolution from them as an adult. I spent my education instead at the Patrex Academy- which bar my art and history classes I simply scraped by in- making no real friends in the century I spent as a pupil there. What they did teach me, however, was how to hone my high strung telepathic senses, molding me into one of the most astute telepaths the Academy had ever seen.

After graduating (and suffering through a menial archival job in Arcadia for six years) I earned a position as a junior historian in conjunction with the Bureau of ancient records, a job usually reserved for junior Time Lords, and worked my way up to being involved in formal and public facing events. It was at one such event, during the 20 years interim presidency, that I met the Collector for the first time. This meeting & gradually developing friendship over the next decade would eventually lead me to the heart of the civil war resistance movement and far beyond...

●°♡THE LADY:

We met about 40 years before the civil war, so around a decade before she was spirited away on her quest. I had gone with one of our senior historians to the Citadel to look at a recently declassified artifact that would be useful in a project of ours, and during our tour of the Bureaus primary facility I got very lost. Incredibly lost. Several floors and staircases and rooms-I-had-no-clearance-for levels of lost. I turned a corner trying to go back the way I came and ran straight into her. I'm nervous normally, but at this point I was so upset about the whole thing I was basically inarticulate. We got back down to the ground floor eventually (after getting lost a further two times; turns out she hadn't been in the position long at all, and we were in essentially the same state of confusion,) but had to spend a good half a span afterwards listening to our superiors chew us out for wandering off when we weren't supposed to.

We meet again when the Collector introduces us, hoping I can help sort out the whole 'our President is liable to get possessed by an ancient evil ghost and you're the only person I know who won't go to the press about it, can you do Literally Anything' situation, but she's changed bodies since then and doesn't seem to remember me. While I pretend that our first meeting never really happened, it is something I think about often the longer we know each other, especially when we begin hopping universes & I start noticing just how many realities the lot of us are married in...

°●♡THE COLLECTOR:

The event that we meet at is awful. It sucks. He's one of three council representatives, and I'm playing junior tag-along watching the worst of my peers receive accolades for repeating the same bland, all hail the founders propaganda our species has been eating up for an eternity. I'm agitated and a bit drunk and honestly hoping that something terrible happens to the building we're in so I can just go home - when I step out on the balcony and see him there. The conversation is good, he's polite, and our discussion is so refreshing and runs so long that we agree to meet each other again to continue it.

It would be a lie to say that over a decade of infrequent but precious meetings had not made him one of my dearest friends. It would also be a lie to say that his exile (which just-so-happens to coincide with my first shift) does not make my feelings towards him drastically more complicated. We meet and part several times over the courses of our lives, but even knowing each time that it could be our last - it still takes me several 'this is our last meeting for REAL this time'-s to admit maybe it isn't just a dear friendship that I'm missing every time he has to leave us.

●°♡THE WARRIOR:

The possession situation is technically our first meeting, but so much happens during it (mangled ghost, my friend gets possessed and exiled, her ex husband shows up?? It's a lot. It's fine. Don't worry about it) but we get to talking when the Collector tells me to go with her as an aide to the Academy. I'm unsure at first, but ultimately agree - and its the right choice. I really like her from the jump! Shes decisive, funny, wise and blunt, and VERY strong. Obviously its a bit strange being friends with a human, but I like her, and I'm practically glued to her until the civil war starts up.

Only her ex husband dies and the war blinds her (literally, she gets in the way of a bomb saving the Spies lives and loses her vision) and she grows.. cold. Not that I knew her for long, before, but the personality change is evident. She warms up to me again when we're out adventuring, but the distance (mainly my fear of overstepping the wall shes very clearly put up) remains until we get stranded in an alternate universe and I side with her against the Lady & the Spy in a dispute that sets us permanently apart. Living with her thaws that last bit of space - shes the first of our group that I really admit to myself that I love.

°●♡THE SPY:

I don't like him. We meet (and by that I mean run past each other a couple times) during the liable possession situation, same as with the Warrior, but considering one of the first things I see him actually do is publicly denounce and trigger the exile of my closest friend I wouldn't say we hit it off. We interact a few times, mostly during the mad dash into civil war our political sphere is undergoing, but none of it is particularly noteworthy or polite on his part - though, I admit, he wins himself some points saving the Lady's life during an attempt to assassinate her.

When we get roped into fighting the same side in the war together? I like him slightly more. Only slightly. I have no weapons training, he knows how to handle guns, and the time we're forced to spend together training improves our relationship ever so slightly. But then he just... keeps improving. He denounces his previous alliances. He saves the Lady countless times. By the we start checking out alternate universes as a group- in turn actually having decent conversations with one another- I find myself actually getting fond of him. Cue decades of emotional repression on both our parts </3 TRUST neither of us are acting on that until we're forced to
