The Wonderful Thieves Oil
An air antiseptic for colds, flu, viral and bacterial infections
Thieves Oil is said to have been used since the 14th century to ward off germs and viruses, especially during the plague. During this time, thieves, robbing the poor plague victims, were said to have used a blend of these oils to protect them from contracting the plague. Thieves Oil is a blend of Rosemary, Clove, Cinnamon, Lemon and Eucalyptus.
Tumblr media
Rosemary
Rosemary has a long history. During the plague, bunches of rosemary were hung and burned to help fight off infection and the French hung rosemary in their hospitals during World War II due to its antiseptic and purifying properties.
Tumblr media
Clove
Clove oil is known for its ability to kill germs and bacteria and has been used to disinfectant wounds. It has antimicrobial properties and can be diffused into a sick room to cleanse the air.
Tumblr media
Cinnamon
Cinnamon leaf was traditionally used in the East to help with common complaints such as cold, flu, digestive problems and joint inflammation. It has been found to have anti-bacterial, anti-infectious and astringent properties. Cinnamon encourages a healthy immune system - especially when exposed to winter ailments such as colds, flu and viral infections.
Tumblr media
Lemon
Lemon oil may be used to support healthy immune function when fighting infection. Lemon oil has been favoured for therapeutic purposes including relief from colds, throat infection, anxiety and lowering blood pressure. It is also believed to promote cleansing in the lymphatic system and to help relieve muscular aches and pains.
Tumblr media
Eucalyptus
The Eucalyptus tree is also known as the fever tree and was used by Aboriginal people in Australia to help reduce fever. It has been commonly indicated for treating colds, respiratory ailments, as well as muscle, nerve and joint pain. The fresh, clean fragrance of Eucalyptus is known to have strong germicidal, antibacterial and analgesic properties.
Thieves Oil Recipe
2 tsp Clove oil 1 1/2 tsp Lemon oil 1 tsp Cinnamon Bark or Leaf oil 3/4 tsp Eucalyptus oil 1/2 tsp Rosemary oil
Store in an amber bottle and use on a diffuser as needed.

Natural help for candida and thrush.
Tumblr media
Stop the embarrassing itch and rebalance the good bacteria in the body with these great natural remedies.
Candida albicans is a common bacterium which most of us have on our skin and in our intestines. Problems like acne, bloating, oral and vaginal thrush, fatigue and joint pain occur when the candida numbers get out of control. This can be due to a number of factors, including, a diet high in refined carbohydrates and sugars, stress, long term illness, weakened immune system, use of antibiotics and contraceptive pills. It is important to treat candida infections internally with great supplements such as oregano oil while also maintaining a healthy sugar free diet until the candida levels are balanced and not causing symptoms.
Rebalance Recommends
Chlorella
Use in powder form for super cleansing smoothies or tablet form. Chlorella helps flush unwanted toxins, caused by the candida overload, out of the system.
Verm-Ez
A fantastic spring clean for the body during candida overload. Verm-Ez cleanses and prepares the body for effective candida fighting and optimum nutrition uptake. Follow on from Verm-Ez with the Malcolm Harker O.S.R.
Multiflora Digest
Helps achieve balance of good (and bad) flora in the body. Essential in controlling candida overgrowth.
Oregano Oil
Powerful antimicrobial that helps kill candida and correct microflora imbalance.
Tips & Info
Sugars feed candida so it is important to support the body in removing the candida by following a sugar free diet. This unfortunately includes fruit sugars and dried fruits as well as white sugar.
Avoid yeast, aged cheese, dried fruit, mushrooms and citrus as these all contribute to candida growth.
Increase your intake of acidophilus yoghurt to promote levels of good bacteria in the body.
Green leafy vegetables and 'green drinks' are beneficial for cleansing the body and the toxins created by the candida overload.
If taking probiotics and candida fighters, take them at different times of the day for best absorption.

3 Little Words That Will Change Your Health
Tumblr media
What’s in it?. That’s it. Pretty basic but surprisingly overlooked. These simple words can help you take charge of your health - helping weight issues, immune issues, skin issues, mood issues (and many other issues). It is all about conscious living, being present and taking charge of what you put into, and onto, your body.
Blindly putting products onto and into your body may seem a bit odd to some but for others it is just not something to really think about. Even when reading the labels - there may be a chemical component that can’t even be pronounced but for some reason it’s OK, it is in there for a reason and if they were toxic they wouldn’t be in there, right? This blind faith in companies is crazy. There is a trust that because it is made and sold, then it is safe and good for us. How may times in history has this been proven wrong with toxic ingredients being taken out of these so called safe products, sometimes years after starting out on the market. It happens all the time, the recent one that springs to mind is the chemical preservative Methylisothiazolinon and the carcinogenic 1,4-dioxane found in popular brands of baby wipes and baby washes - chemicals onto those who have the most sensitive skin of all.
We are surrounded by toxins in our foods, in our makeup, in our homes, shampoo, cleaning products and more. Although these individual chemicals may have at one point been ‘tested’ for safety, there have been no tests on the safety of the chemical cocktail we live in today. If our bodies become overloaded with toxins, a number of health issues can and do arise, including hormone disfunction, skin conditions, cancers, reproductive problems, behavioural disorders. By looking at your food, foundation, shampoo, cleanser, deodorant and asking those 3 little words - “what’s in it?” - things can shift. You can limit the amount of chemicals bombarding your body, cut out the toxic trans fats in your food that increase your risk of heart disease and weight gain. You become aware and in charge of your body and what goes in. Don’t trust the brand simply because it has the word ‘natural’ in its title or the ad says it contains natural ingredients. Yes it probably has a few natural ingredients alongside its chemicals but until you ask the question “what’s in it?” you wont know. It is fact that chemical build up in the body interferes with our health. Limit these now and feel good that you know exactly what you are putting in, and on, your body and of those in your family.
___
Tumblr media
What to avoid in foods
- If you can, eat organic. Organic fresh fruit and vege boxes are everywhere, and delivered right to your door. This option can often be far cheaper than buying sprayed produce from your local village or supermarket.
-Trans fat. This is something that has caused more harm than good in foods and was only originally put into food to extend their shelf life. They may show on labels as hydrogenated oils such as margarine or partially hydrogenated vegetable oils. The effects of trans fat in foods are well known to increase bad cholesterol and are linked to heart disease, weight gain, diabetes. Found in margarine, crackers, processed foods, chips and baked goods.
-Artificial colouring & flavourings. Known to cause behavioural problems in children and funnily enough found in products marketed towards children such as soda’s, candy, cheese, fruit juice and more. Some of the worst to look out for are blue E133, E124 red, yellow, tartrazine E102.
-Potassium bromate is an additive used in bread & rolls (white flour) and is known to cause cancers in animals in small amounts.
-Sulphites are toxic additives used as preservatives in wine making and can cause reactions including asthma, rashes, hypotension and tingling sensations. Found in: wine, beer, soft drinks, dried fruit, juices, vinegar, and potato products.
-Butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) and butylated hydrozyttoluene (BHT) are preservatives found in vegetable oils, cereals, gum, enriched rice, rise cereals, shortening, jelly, chips. It extends the shelf life of food and keeps it from discolouration. It is a neurotoxin and has the potential to cause cancers.
-Sodium nitrate is found in cured meats, bacon, hotdogs, luncheon, smoked fish, corned beef. It is used as a preservative and basically just makes your meat look redder and fresher. Sodium Nitrate is highly carcinogenic and should have been banned back in the 70′s when the concern was raised.
-MSG E621 monosodium glutamate. MSG is an amino acid used as a flavour enhancer. It is found hiding in many foods but mainly found in packet soups, gravy, chips and in many asian food restaurants. MSG can effect moods and cause weight gain.
-High fructose corn syrup. Found in so many foods in the US and a few here in NZ. It is linked to behavioural changes and weight gain. It is found mostly in processed foods, candy, cereals, baking, breads, beverages.
-Artificial sweeteners. Found in drinks, sugar substitutes, jelly, deserts, toothpaste, vitamins, tea and contain neurotoxins like aspartame.

___
There are plenty of amazing natural alternatives to these chemical ridden products. Products that really are natural and don’t mislead you with green washing or false advertising. Scout around and see which suit you. Read the ingredients and the story behind the company. If you wan’t to take the “What’s in it?” a bit further then consider adding the question “how was this produced?”, ethically, fairly, cruelty free, sustainably.

The benefits of our beautiful Himalayan Crystal Salt Lamps
Himalayan salt lamps are natural dehumidifiers and when you leave them off, you will find little puddles of water around them - not so great for furniture, carpet or electrical equipment but great for your health! It is this ability to attract water that makes salt lamps so therapeutic. When a salt lamp is heated, it evaporates attracted water on its surface (so no annoying little puddles) releasing negative ions into the air. This process is continual and doesn't affect the quality of your lamp in any way - just the quality of the air you breathe!
Negative ions are found throughout nature, with the greatest quantities found in coastal regions close to the sea, waterfalls and also during thunder storms. It is no coincidence that people feel more ‘alive’ and refreshed after being in these environments, as negative ions have a hugely beneficial impact on our bodies - killing bacteria, mould, mildew, odours, dust mites, static electricity, electro smog and allergens and benefiting the body through stress release, restful sleep, improved concentration and, with their ability to cleanse the air, help with all kinds respiratory conditions.
So there you go. Not only are Himalayan Salt Lamps beautiful to look at but they also have huge health benefits. In todays world, a little help with stress release and clean air is exactly what we need.
