"two vast and trunkless legs of stone motherfucker" is an all-time insult.
I'm looking upon this guy's works, and have to say, I don't like them one bit.

Over the past year, whenever I've hosted something I made one of these extremely deep-fried promo images to accompany the group message I'm sending the details with. Here's a collection of them.

Yesterday I fulfilled a dream I've had for a while of completing a telephone-style playthrough of Shadow the Hedgehog where multiple people swap out who is playing every stage and picking the objective, with whichever of the 326 different named endings we unlock at the end being specific to that group of people for that specific session. To celebrate I'm going to reblog some Shadow-related posts I found combing through my likes.
me: hey shadow check this shit out, it's called whippits

Many folktales throughout different cultures feature a heroine being given the impossible task of sorting through grains/seeds– whether that be picking them from the ashes, from between each other, or from their rotting counterparts.
In this task, she often does as much as she can before submitting to a higher power, whether that power recognizes her virtue or she directly asks for help varies based on the culture and tale.
Featured are eight such tales, most of which can be categorized into “Snake Bride” (ATU 425) type tales or “Cinderella” (Both often ATU 510 in the folklore index– Cinderellas are specifically ATU 510A)
The circle puts them in no particular order, as “origins”  and lineages are muddied, and many of the current incarnations have been influenced by each other, though Ye Xian is the oldest known “complete” version of Cinderella.
Snake Brides:
Psyche, Eros and Psyche (Greco-Roman)
Sukkia, The Snake’s Bride (India)
Donan Sampakang Tale about Gansaļangi and Donan Sampakang (Indonesian)
Cinderellas:
Aschenputtel (German)
Tam, Tấm and Cám (Vietnam)
Unnamed Heroine The Wonderful Birch (Finish & Slavic)
Ye Xian (Chinese)
Neither (ATU 480B– Stepmother and Stepdaughter)
Vasilisa, Vasilisa the Wise (or Beautiful) (Slavic)

This drove me insane when I watched Sleeping Beauty. They're all sulky about their arranged marriage the entire movie and then in the last 3 minutes they're like "Oh, turns out the person I'm engaged to WAS the fair-faced freak I found in a ditch in the forest. Never mind, arranged marriage rules actually :)"
Talk about a conflict resolution.
I love how in disney cartoons when a prince is like "father I have met a mysterious forest woman and she is the love of my life and I cannot possibly marry who you wish me to" the king is always like "No!!!!! you can't fall in love with a forest woman!!!!!! you must marry a princess!!!!!" instead of what a king would have said in real life, which is "why are you telling me about the forest woman. this has no impact whatsoever on your marriage to the princess. we all have a forest woman. it's 1183 and we're barbarians"

Video editing practice in the form of a Castlevania fancam. I wanted to get more acquainted with flashier transitions and visual effects, but I lost the original project file when my computer died at the end of 2024. I probably won't be going back to this, however this basically-timed-out version survives.

it's kind of a shame that the 10-year long "urobuchi said in an interview that madoka was actually about how young girls are literally terrorists who will be destroyed for their hubris" -> "he really did not say that" telephone game has largely buried any retrospective appreciation of how kind of funny it was that urobuchi did just start rapid-firing his thoughts on american imperialism and its relationship to the motivations behind acts of terrorism and nuclear energy and the y2k panic, which is admittedly all ultimately in service of expressing some pretty normal ideas, while the interviewer barely manages to keep the entire thing on-topic.
