Haven’t been drawing much but here was the last thing I had been working on before the block took its effects.

Percy watched as Annabeth pulled the Gold medallion from her neck and held it between her fingers for a moment before opening it and revealing a photo of his mother on one end, and a photo of the both of them. She looked up at him her stormy grey eyes on the verge of pouring over at any moment and he felt a tug at his heart at the sight. “I know you thought I was faking the whole time, and maybe in the beginning I was but I’m not anymore.”

Had he heard her right, had she just confessed her feelings for him in the middle of this death trap, he wanted to laugh at the irony of it all. He moved closer to her and took the medallion from her hands to look at the photo of them, it was one of the few moments on the tour that wasn’t staged and they were smiling, and he wondered how he couldn’t have seen it before. Maybe he had been too stubborn to believe she could love him. After the first games Percy wanted nothing more than for Annabeth to look at him as she was in that moment. He shut the medallion and set it around her neck and her eyes watched him carefully as he fixed her braid back onto the side of her shoulder. His hands moved skillfully to the side of her face and cupped her cheeks so that she couldn’t look away. He wanted her to look him in the eyes when he said “I love you.”

A silver tear poured from the corner of her eye and she smiled up at him for a moment before he closed the space between them and pressed his lips against her. A warmth began to build in the center of his chest spreading over him like an ocean wave, she pulled him closer digging her hands into his hair and he thought he could stay like that forever.

“Alright that’s enough lovebirds.” Clarisse shouted causing them to break apart from each other, their lips pink and raw as they turned to see her waiting for them, her spear hanging over her shoulders lazily.

Annabeth turned back at Percy in that moment and he could see there was fear in her eyes, “Promise me, that if this doesn’t work, we’ll leave together.” She whispered and he furrowed his brows stroking the side of her cheek with his thumb.

“It’s gonna work.” He promised trying to put her fears aside, but even Percy knew that there was no guarantee. He just hoped that Charlie knew what he was talking about and that they wouldn’t have to kill each other within the hour.
