Note
sorry to bother you but did i miss the announcement for the prompt submissions opening? are we just supposed to submit them through the asks or is there a form?? sorry just really excited for this!
Hi, thank you for the inquiry! There's currently some technical issues happening behind the scenes that have caused a slight delay, but rest assured the submission time will be extended somewhat to account for this. We are very sorry for the lateness!

Note
As an author for this event would I be able to restrict the pairings or characters I'd be interested in creating for? (Ex. I'd rather not create things for Ivan/Baby or Elliott for personal reasons) you can answer this on or off anon :]
You can restrict what you write! At any point before the prompts are finalized you can ask to change due to incompatibilities, and you can also indicate any people who you do not want added to the list of valid partners for any reason.

Redacted New Year's Gift Exchange 2022
We're proud to announce the beginning of a new event: Redacted New Year's Gift Exchange 2022!
This will be an event styled after 'secret santa' kind events, in which the participants select and submit prompts to participate, and submit a work created for another person. This includes both writing and art!
OVERVIEW:
The applications for the event will open Sept. 16th, 2022, at 12:00 noon, EST. Authors, as well as Artists, Beta Readers, and Pinch Hitters will be allowed to apply for participation. For artists, a minimum of a lined, flat color drawing in either traditional or digital style is presented. For authors, a minimum of 3,000 words is required, but to go above is encouraged and accepted.
This event permits 18+ prompts, but is open to individuals 16 and up. In the 'RULES' segment, more specific limits are established.
The participants will be given roughly three months to complete their selected work, starting after the application process is complete, and the works will be posted in January 2023.
Participants will be given the option of joining a Discord Server for the event including all of the other agreeing participants, and following the reveal of the works will be able to speak to and react to their assigned partners.
ROUGH TIMELINE:
SEPT. 16th: Participant Applications open
Sept. 21st: Participant Applications close, vetting process begins
Sept. 25th: Prompt Submissions Open, Drawing Starts
Sept. 30th: Final Day to modify prompts and exchange assignments, writing/drawing begins
Oct. 5th: First Check-In, no submission required. General Update.
Nov. 5th to 10th: Second Check-In, Sketch and 1,500 minimum wordcount submissions.
Dec. 25th to 30th: Final Submissions, extensions available if requested in advance.
Jan. 1st to 12th: Upload and Reveal.
RULES:
1. Respect first. No disrespect of any participant is permitted. This is a fan event, and personal feuds can be resolved in private.
2. Don't Like, Don't Read: Meaning, another person's prompt does not have to acquiesce to your own personal likes and dislikes. You may request to avoid specific individuals or to change your assigned prompt if you dislike what you've received. Insulting or harassing someone for their preferences will not be tolerated.
3. Do not upload WIPs of Event Items. This is a secret exchange, and to do so defeats the purpose of the event's nature.
4. This is a 16+ event, but the usage of 18+ prompts is permitted. However, applicants and participants who are under the age of 18 who are found attempting to submit or select prompts labelled as NSFW will be asked to change their selection, and if they refuse will be expelled from event participation. Applicants found to be lying about their ages will be expelled without consideration, for the safety and wellbeing of other applicants as well as their own.
5. All prompts and finished works must be tagged and warned appropriately in all aspects. If you are unsure of how a work should be warned or tagged, contact the event page in order to receive aid and advice. If the work is found to have untagged and unwarned elements, we reserve the right to remove it from our public page and listings.
6. Prompt limitations are few but strict: Incest is not permitted, and defined as blood-related characters being paired romantically and/or sexually with each other. Pedophilia is also not permitted, and is defined as the usage of a character written and stated to be explicitly under 18 in a romantic or sexual relationship or situation with someone written and explicitly stated to be over 18. Prompts expressly serving the purpose to 'bash' or physically/ emotionally mutilate a character without a storyline are restricted, and may be subject to scrutiny upon submission. Alternate universes, non-canon pairings, and Listener OC prompts are permitted and not restricted. However, non-Listener OC centric characters and works are not permitted, due to limited contact between participants creating for each other. It is encouraged to create prompts that could be made into writing AND/OR art, but more specificity is not punished, however it may affect partner selection.
F.A.Q
Q: How will the assignments take place?
A: The site 'drawnames.com' will allow participants to be invited and view a wishlist of the prompts created by their fellow participants, while allowing them to anonymously communicate with their assigned pair. If there are any issues with the site, manual prompt submission and selection will take place, and the timeline will be moved accordingly.
Q: What is a pinch hitter?
A: A pinch hitter is the instance of an individual volunteering to take over an emergency role. In this case, the roles are what the event requires once participants are in and the selections have occurred. In the case of dropping out, participants will not be penalized, and a 'pinch hitter' volunteer will be invited to take over the role they would have fulfilled and the work they would have created. However, if a participant drops out after the second check in, this will not take place, out of respect for time limitations and constraints.
Q: Are crossovers allowed?
A: Unfortunately, due to this event being a gift exchange, direct crossovers are not allowed in prompts. If it is fit to have a crossover and fulfill the prompt appropriately, however, the creator that has already received a prompt may do so at discretion.
Q: How will works be uploaded?
A: Written works are expected to be uploaded to Archive of Our Own, into a collection listed on the site. It is not accepted to upload the work in its entirety to any other site, due to the nature of the event. However, linking is allowed. Artists may upload the work to Tumblr, and other social media, but must establish that the work was produced for the purpose of the exchange.

I promise I'm not trying to be annoying about this /g, but I'm wondering if an allowance/new category can be made for non-prose forms of writing. I'd really like to participate, and songwriting is my primary means of producing fan art (and I daresay that's what people would expect from me if I were to do this). But there's no way I could write a 3K word song. (Just as a point of reference, the 6-minute rap I did about the Inversion was 1073 words. The next longest one after that was about 450. It looks like my average word count for songs is around 250-300.) I would gladly meet a minimum word count + minimum song duration (minimum 3 minutes?) if that seems acceptable. Thank you for organizing this! Again, not trying to be a pain. 💛 Regards, Frenchie Empress of the Island of Misfit Toys
Thank you for reaching out! Because your situation is quite unique, a new 'category' isn't much viable. But after some thought, this is the conclusion that was reached:
Using the text as counting for one part of the 'minimum', and the melody and recording for the other part, it is possible to say that you can participate in this manner!
However, we would have to communicate with your partner to see if they were willing to accept this form of gift, which would take away some of the surprise element, but would be necessary to ensure that they would be satisfied by the end result. As long as this was met, and as long as you were able to in some way fill the prompt you were given, there would be no problem with submitting a song as your entry.
As far as other non-prose forms of writing go, given enough individuals a new category could be made, but would once again require the approval of the person who would be receiving this content. This is not a problem that is insurmountable, thankfully, so it shouldn't be an issue if more people want to submit in that kind of category.
Other than this, there are events that are not dependent on wordcounts and such like the Winter Solstice Week that will provide less complicated chances to participate with non-prose and non-drawing forms of fanart! We aspire to let everyone participate in their own way.

⛄❄️Winter Solstice Week 2022❄️⛄
We're happy to introduce another event this year: Winter Solstice Week 2022!
This is a themed event open for participation by anyone without a word count or application minimum, starting on Monday, November 28th, and ending on Sunday, December 4th. We are aware that this is not the week of the solstice, but as it overlaps with the New Year's Gift Exchange 2022, it is happening a month beforehand.
The event will have a different set of prompts to pick and fill each day, with the last day being a 'free day' where any work of any kind may be posted. You are not obligated to post for each day, but it is encouraged!
This is a lighthearted event to encourage creators to post themed content in collection without the extant pressure. Let's come together and party for the Winter Solstice ❄️!
Short Rules:
1. Be respectful! Accept other's interpetations of the prompts. We're all here to have fun!
2. WIP posting is permitted without restrictions! The only requirement is to use the tag for the event " #RedactedWS22 " and to tag the event account. However, please try to keep works original. Plagiarism will not be permitted for the purposes of the event.
3. 18+ content is allowed at the discretion of the creator! Content that falls under 'Pedophilia', as defined as a romantic or sexual relationship or situation between one individual who is an explicitly stated or written minor and a person who is explicitly stated or written as over the age of 18, will not be counted as part of the event.
4. Anyone can participate! Artists and authors, video and audio creators, any kind of content creation is permitted.
5. Have fun! Do not burn yourself out for this event. The prompts are not strict and there is no content minumum, meaning a winter-themed work posted for only one day will still be counted and shared by this event account, as long as it is related to the Redactedverse. Works posted after the deadline has passed also count!
Days And Themes:
Day One: Wonderland❄️
Key Words: Cabin, Secret, Wonder, Curiosity, Excitement.
"The shapes are getting softer and the land is becoming something magical. The surrounding is transformed into a dreamscape full of bizarre forms that generate friendliness among strangers. Here a smile, there a good word and the world enchanted."
- Anna Asche
Day Two: Hearth🔥
Key Words: Warmth, Crackle, Cuddle, Chocolate, Fire.
"There’s a steaming mug in your hands, warming your fingers.
There’s a friend seated across from you in the cozy chair, warming your heart.
There is mystery unfolding."
- Vera Nazarian
Day Three: Snow🌨️
Key Words: Sweater, Sick, Soft, Cold, Chill.
"I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says, "Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again."
- Lewis Carroll
Day Four: Holiday🎿
Key Words: Free, Vacation, Sports, Fall, Joy.
"Easily Zin’s favorite holiday, because the night was for everyone of all traditions, religions, and countries. Celebrated by anyone, anywhere, on that hour. It represented the boundary between years, this in-between time. Plus, that evening was about the moment. It was here now. Indisputably immediate."
- Ruth Ann Oskolkoff
Day Five: Dinner🥂
Key Words: Food, Cooking, Full, Celebration, Taste.
"Eating a huge home cooked Christmas dinner was his personal favorite. Evan would look around after each Christmas Day was done. There were empty dishes, and torn up wrapping paper on the ground. Monty was passed out on the couch stuffed with food. Evan would close his eyes and hear the day. He could feel the memories that were just made."
- David Rangel
Day Six: Family🫂
Key Words: Together, Handholding, Skin, Found, Safe, Peace.
"You must remember, family is often born of blood, but it doesn't depend on blood. Nor is it exclusive of friendship. Family members can be your best friends, you know. And best friends, whether or not they are related to you, can be your family."
- Trenton Lee Stewart
Day Seven: Free Day🎉🎆
Anything Goes!

For the purposes of the New Year's Exchange, does "writing" include songwriting? (asking for a Friendchie)
If you were able to meet the prompt you receive completely as well as the minimum word count, there should be no problem!

Note
will there be events where a word count isn't enforced?
Yes! Word count minimums are put in place to encourage authors to push themselves to meet them, but there will be events where the word count limits are waived or not present. There will be events with different kinds of requirements, ranging from long 'big bang' events to seasonal and pairing themed events. If you have any suggestions or requests, feel free to submit them!

Hello there!
Welcome to this Redacted ASMR Events Page! This is to manage and set up future fanfiction and/or Fanart events and challenges, in an organized, public manner that allows for easy sharing. If you have an idea that you would like to suggest for a future event, please send an ask or message to the inbox, and it'll be checked over for feasibility and added to the list if possible!
As of the latest update to this post, there is One Mod responsible for the event setup and page management. However, in order to foster a community environment and in case of future Moderator entries, posts will use the plural 'we' when speaking about events. Thank you for understanding!
