My original Attack on Titan pattern is up and running again in a new store under my commissioner name. I took it down months ago because I thought it had outlived its usefulness, but apparently not, according to my inbox.

It’s still $10, still printable, and still helpful! It comes with the illustrated sewing guide I wrote as well.

Survey corps cape tutorial part 1

Or how I made a cape and now never want to wear anything but. Or simply a simple circle cape tutorial.

You can of course buy the survey corps cape online, there are dozens for sale for reasonable and unreasonable prices if you look around, but I wanted to make my own so here we go! Disclaimer: my drawings are not scale accurate. Cause son, aint no body got time for that. Begin with 2 meters of fabric in the colour of your choice. Fold your fabric in half and mark with pins or chalk the measurements to cut out the circle.

My fabric was 60” wide so I was able to cut out a full circle. If your fabric is not that wide, no worries! Simply cut out two half circles and sew one side together.

If you have a full circle, cut a straight line from the neck hole to the hem. This makes dramatic cape twirling possible.

Next, cut out your hood pattern. I cut 2 with my fabric and 2 with lining to get a nice finished interior to my hood. For the hood lining you need about 0.75 meters.

Sew your hood together, good side to good side with a 5/8” seam allowance. At this point you should try your hood on, make sure you like it, or if you’re wearing a wig/your hair like Hangi’s for example, make sure it fits over your ponytail. Once you’re sure you like it, clip the corners of your hood for a nice clean curve.

Do the same for your lining and iron the seams open for both. This will make it easier when you sew the two hoods together good side to good side along the opening of the hood. Which you are ready to do now! Next we attach the hood to cape. Begin by pining the center back of the hood to the center of the neck on the cape and work your way out from there.

Try and follow the curve of the neck as much as possible. Don’t worry if the hood isn’t long enough to match the neck hole, we’ll fix that all in a moment. Go ahead and sew the hood to the cape keeping a 5/8th seam, be vigilant and go slow make sure your cape isn’t getting bunched up under your hood. Once it’s sewn together, try it on! Make sure it looks fantastic.

Ahhhh yess, you’re feeling like killing some titans right about now, aren’t you? So you like it, clip the curve like we did with the hood, taking care not to cut your stitches. You can at this point either take ½ ” bias tape that matches the colour of your cape, or cut a strip of matching fabric like I did to encompass the joint of hood and cape. If your hood wasn’t long enough the match the neck hole exactly, this is when we cover that up!

Bam! Look how fresh and clean that looks. Take a deep breath cause we’re almost done. It’s time to hem this mother flipper. I did a 1/2” hem all along the bottom and down the two fronts of the cape with my sewing machine. Sew on a button, or fastening of your choice, slap the patch on center back and you’re done!! Good job and titans beware.

Now that we’ve reached the end of this, are you wondering why this is called part 1? Isn’t the cape finished? Why yes, yes it is. But Coral likes to torture herself, and has decided that the patch is too stiff for twirling in this cape and wants to create her own “supple” wings of freedom… Stay tuned for that. The Losers Club as a band

Bill - Lead singer, Guitarist, main producer of their songs; One day he discovered that his stutter is pretty much gone when he sings from his whole heart which is why he got the idea for a proper band; He is the one who has the most concept idea's and spends a lot of time coming up with melodies and defining them with Bev; His garage is the groups spot for practice, as it was too complicated to get everything inside their clubhouse (especially the drumset), not to mention the danger of damaging the equipment by storing it there. His parents and neighbors aren't the happiest due to that but everyone has to make sacrifices, right?

Mike - Second lead singer, Main Promoter; His voice brings in the stability as he has a very strong one that he perfectly knows how to control; He did a lot, and by that I mean A LOT of research about the music industry and everything that comes with it when the seven youngsters began making music, which made him become the main promoter and organizer of the group; He is mainly responsible for their outside appearance with promoting and posting every news about whats coming up, just as organizing gigs, interviews and events for the group

Stan - Supporting vocal, Tambourine, supporting producer; Stan is by far the only one hitting the high notes tho; He was supposed to be second lead singer but got stage fever and therefore decided to be a supporting vocal instead; He doesnt know, but Bill intentionally stops singing every once in a while when he notices that Stan is completely in his element so the crowd can really hear his beautiful voice; He also chose the Tambourine because there's no way of fucking that up; He's always helping Bill with producing new songs and always makes sure that his boy gets enough sleep

Richie - Third lead singer, Guitarist (electric & acoustic); To the Losers surprise, Richie indeed has a really good singing voice - it took them a while to notice, as he always sang crappy on purpose to make the others cringe or laugh; He also played the Guitar every once in a while and was the first one hyped to start a band when Bill told the group about his idea; Sometimes he gets carried away so much on stage that he forgets to sing his parts, SO OFTEN that people are genuinely surprised when they get told that he's part of the lead singers; He wanted to be part of the songwriters but wasnt really good at covering up that he added one or another "fuck" in between the lyrics; Wanted the group to be named "Mom bangers" but was the only one voting for it

Eddie - Keys/Synth; At first he was quite sceptical, because like who knows how many people have already touched that thing?! See - you can't even clean it properly!; Yet he chose the instrument, as guitars would be too dangerous, the strings could cut his soft little fingertips y'know; After a while of practicing, he quite grew a liking on it and plays it now really well; Sometimes, even on stage, he has to hit Richie for making random sounds on the synthesizer, as he always thinks they sound funny; He CAN sing too, but he doesn't want to. The only times anyone has ever heard him sing was when he was drunk; He tried to sing in front of others once but honestly gets too nervous and just uses his inhaler every 5 seconds

Ben - Drums, Songwriter; Ben has the perfect feeling for rythm and tried playing the drums a few years back, which is why he started playing them seriously now and became the group's drummer; He even has solo parts in some of their songs which has the crowd shaking everytime; He is also the one who writes the lyrics to their songs, always with input from the other, but still mainly through his own thoughts; His lyrics are always stuck in your head and behind the poetic phrasing is always so much meaning

Beverly - Bass, Supporting Vocal, Producer; She definitely doesn't have the best singing voice, but lets call it a good cleaning-the-house-and-sing-along-one, which is why she became a supporting vocal, also helping with higher keys due to her feminine voice; She plays the bass like a goddess and even if her singing organ isn't sharing that point, her hearing one definitely is. She is part of the main producers along with Bill and comes up with melodies as if it's nothing; She is known for her magic understanding of music and practically every production she lays hand on turns into pure gold and lands in the charts

Extra:

The Band name - "The Losers Club"; They decided on this name as they wanted to remind themselves and others from where they started and that, no matter what, they will always stick together. They did have the idea of cancelling out the Losers' middle S with a V, but decided against it as it may be too sexualizing of the group (YES THIS IS A HINT ON THE ORIGINAL IT BOOK IM SORRY IF YOU KNOW WHAT PART IM TALKING ABT I WISH I NEVER KNEW ABT IT EITHER LOL)

Watching IT (again) and I was thinking about the part when Eddie’s mom took him away from his friends. I think maybe that was the moment when Richie woke up and realized how much Eddie meant to him. He didn’t know if he was ever going to see him again. He had to admit to himself his feelings...although he kept them hidden it was the thought of never seeing the love of his life again that scared him more than clowns.

Okay but like

May I point out how important fandoms like ours are?

See, everything about this fandom is about TWO movies, nothing more and nothing less, two movies that have been hyped up by everyone when announced but immediately thrown away after it became old news

Halloween is not far away at all and it's probably the last day where the hype will bloom for a short time again but simply because of the mainstream appreciation of the most popular horror clown

But after that?

People will say that they cant understand how one can be so obsessed with a one-time-hype-movie, because they wonder "It's only two movies, dont they bore you already?" or "There isn't even that much content to be so crazy about!".

And that my guys, is why our fandoms are so important. Because WE keep our beloved movies, or series ALIVE. WE provide more and more content for EVERYONE, we keep the stories ALIVE and I am so mesmerized by the realization of what a fandom can actually achieve. No matter how small your account is or how long you've been in the fandom, it doesn't matter, because those people who notice your doing will appreciate it more than anything, because you are a part of this whole thing, keeping alive what you both love.
