TNS Week 2025, March 3-9, 2025

What is it?

A week to create fanworks for The Next Step! These can be fanfics, fanart, edits, moodboards, gifsets, whatever you want to make!

Why those dates?

March 8, 2013 was when The Next Step first aired. This week was chosen to start the Monday before March 8 and end on the following Sunday.

Themes

Day 1, Monday March 3: Favorite Character Day 2, Tuesday March 4: Time Warp (What's going on with the studio, your favorite characters, or the universe in general 10-20 years in the future? What have they been doing since they left TNS?) Day 3, Wednesday March 5: Flowers (Couples picking flowers for each other, pick a flower and look up the meaning behind it and use that as inspiration, or use a flower as your color scheme, the possibilities are endless.) Day 4, Thursday March 6: Favorite Ship Day 5, Friday March 7: First Date Day 6, Saturday March 8: I Could Do It Better (Pick your least favorite moment from the show and make it better!) But I just read a pretty good fic published in 2014-2015 (you know, roughly TEN YEARS AGO) and I was like, damn this is so cool, I have to leave a comment, even if you know, they probably wont see it...

Something about Emily being called rude and harsh for the way she handled Eldon basically harassing her, before being guilt tripped for hurting his feelings and then pressured into going on a date with him.

Something about Emily trying to gain Amanda’s trust by pretending to turn against the team, having to to portray herself as incredibly cruel and selfish, and struggling to cope with how easily everyone believed it.

Something about Emily saying goodbye to Michelle, tears streaming down her face, admitting to thinking she’s not kind or compassionate enough on her own, and scared that she won’t be able to be a mentor and a role model without Michelle to guide her.

Something about being a good person at your core, but nobody ever acknowledges it so you don’t even know that you are.

Something about this character who, despite the countless number of times she’s felt it break, genuinely believes she might not have a heart.

i think my favorite thing about this show is that whenever characters have beef, instead of getting into a fight (boring) they have a dance battle. this is a regular occurrence

some of you may say that seb and big red hooking up and cheating on carlos and ashlyn is ““bad writing”” or “”out of character”” or even ““a truly baffling narrative decision”” but have u considered that they had a big prompt wheel in the writers room that a small gremlin spun whenever the clock struck twelve and they had to write it into the script or else trade their first born to the witch outside in the hall ? maybe think about that next time .

Happy Birthday to Andi Mack, who turns 20 years old today!

She was born Sept. 28, 2004.  In June of 2023, Andi graduated from high school at Shadyside Academy of Visual Arts (SAVA). She is probably in college now. Where do you think she is?

Although 2003 is the birth date on her hospital bracelet, that date had to be moved forward to 2004 (retconned) due to the slow timeline that kept the teens in 7th grade for two seasons.  Andi was 14 in the finale (set late in 2018) so, six years later, she is 20 today.

Actress Peyton Elizabeth Lee turned 20 on May 22 this year.

I was just thinking about how adorable Anthony and Adele are. I think my favourite aspect of their ship is Anthony fear of screwing everything up now that he's dance captain. Even though there are no set rules on dating as the dance captain and several predecessors have actively done so, he feels this moral obligation to be strictly professional, and it's the cutest thing ever! Seeing a softer side to Adele is so heartwarming, and I do think the mixer episode does their drama pretty well (thank goodness it wasn't an actual love triangle). I really hope he's given the dance captain diary next season so he can feel less stressed and happily date Adele.

i just rewatched hsmtmts, too bad it got canceled after two seasons. it had so much potential, but i’m sure ej and gina had a happy ending and nobody broke up or cheated
