Almost all of these reasons are the same thing I have when shipping other couples (like, namely, Kyo Kusanagi and Yuri Sakazaki/”Kyuri” from King of Fighters - KOF)
Why I ship NaruSaku
Ok first I wanna say this…
NaruHina and SasuSaku are way more popular ships than NaruSaku. They are the biggest ships in the fandom, and I can see why. They look so fucking good together! These two pairings make the most attractive couples in the series. I mean just look at them! If you don’t think they look good/cute together then you’re fucking blind. I agree 100% that these two couples look amazingly good together, and this is why they’re popular.
But my friends the look isn’t the important thing but the FEELINGS. These pairings had literally NO development and were one-sided relationships. Naruto NEVER loved Hinata, and Sasuke NEVER loved Sakura.
The look isn’t the important thing but the fucking feelings…
And my friends this is why I ship NS. They were the most developed and reciprocal relationship in the series.
The look isn’t important but the feelings I repeat!!!!
NS may not look as good as NH or SS, but there were true LOVE feelings between Sakura and Naruto.
I ship NS because I saw Naruto and Sakura’s feelings. Because Naruto did everything he could to protect her. Because Sakura became stronger so she could protect Naruto. Because Naruto would do anything to keep her smiling. Because Sakura would do anything to take him out of his suffering. Because Naruto would risk his life to save her, and so would Sakura. Because Naruto loves and accept Sakura for who she truly is. Because Sakura appreciates Naruto in every way possible. Because Sakura cares about Naruto’s feelings and she wants him to be happy and safe. Because they are always there for each other. Because they make each other smile. Because they understand each other. Because they LOVE each other.
I ship NS because of how strong they feel about each other.
And my friends absolutely NOTHING can change Naruto and Sakura’s feelings, because these moments are ALL OVER the manga.
I doesn’t matter how much NH and SS fans try to deny those facts, it still doesn’t change Naruto and Sakura’s feelings…
It doesn’t matter that they didn’t canon…
It doesn’t even matter that they are married to other people now… It still doesn’t change how they felt and how much they deserved to get together.
How they felt (and still feel) about each other is what matters. Their feelings is the only thing that matters for God’s sake!
And because of everything I said before is why NaruSaku DESERVED to be together so much.
Can you just imagine how happy would Naruto be if he got the girl he always loved?
Can you just imagine how happy would Sakura be if she got someone who truly loves and accept her for who she is, and treats her like she deserves?
I don’t give a fuck NS isn’t the biggest ship of the fandom I know I’m in the right side of the story. And these two deserved so much better…
Make-believe mock wallpapers and posters for my fighter pilot novel “Check-6: Young Lions.” They feature Justin Nozuka as Lieutenant Junior Grade (LTJG) Kotaro “Pretty Boy” Tsurugi, a young F-14 pilot in the Republican Continent of Americas Naval Forces (RCANF) and a more dignified version of Tom Cruise’s Captain Pete “Maverick” Mitchell from “Top Gun;” and Alana Haim (of “Licorice Pizza” fame) as LTJG Katie “9-Lives” Wheeler, Kotaro’s backseat Radar Intercept Officer (RIO) and eventual girlfriend. Think of Katie like 75% Penny Benjamin (Jennifer Connelly) from TG: Maverick and 25% Charlotte “Charlie” Blackwood (Kelly McGillis) from the first Top Gun movie. Kotaro and Katie undergo struggles as members of Carrier Air Wing Eight (CVW-8) onboard the aircraft carrier RCAS Theodore Roseville (CVN-71) during the 2nd Babylonian War in the early 2000s (Operation Iraqi Freedom in real life/RL)!
Kotaro Tsurugi (Justin Nozuka) and Katie Wheeler (Ellen Page) sharing a lovely moment reserved just for themselves. The pair are some of the main protagonists in my fighter pilot novel “Check-6: Young Lions.” Kotaro is a Navy pilot that flies the F-14 Tomcat jet while Katie is his backseat Radar Intercept Officer (RIO)/Navigator. They are members of the “Black Lions” fighter squadron (VF-213).
Here's a live-action movie trailer for my fighter pilot novel (currently in progress) "Check-6: Young Lions."
"Young Lions" serves as a prequel to my original novel "Special Force Fighter Squadron Project Check-6."
Overview: "Young Lions" centers on Kotaro and Kate, two junior officers and pilots serving in the "Black Lions" squadron, an elite aerial unit of the United States Navy that flies F-14 Tomcat jet fighters. In the beginning of the millennium, the pair are deployed to the Persian Gulf to participate in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Cast:
1. Justin Nozuka = Lieutenant, Junior Grade (LTJG) Kotaro "Pretty Boy" Tsurugi, US Navy (Japanese-American Navy fighter pilot with a gloomy past and out for redemption from tragic circumstances); Kotaro is somewhat a re-imagination of the character Lieutenant Pete "Maverick" Mitchell (Tom Cruise) from the 1986 smash-hit movie "Top Gun."
2. Kristen Stewart = LTJG Kate "9-Lives" Wheeler, USN (Kotaro's navigator and eventual girlfriend); Kate is a pastiche (and junior naval officer version) of civilian tactics representative Charlotte "Charlie" Blackwood (Kelly McGillis) from "Top Gun."
Background Music (BGM): "Rhythm Divine" by Enrique Iglesias (cover version of a recording artist named Cooper Coleman)
Movie clips used are from:
1. "Top Gun" (1986)
2. "Battleship" (2012)
3. "Degrassi: The Next Generation"
4. "The Yellow Handkerchief"
5. "Camp X-Ray" (2014)
6. "Emmanuelle: Concealed Fantasy"
7. "Agnipankh: Wings of Fire" (2004 Indian Air Force movie)
8. "Surface to Air" (1998)
9. "The Executive Decision" (1996)
10. "Steal the Sky" (1988 Iraqi Air Force movie)
11. "Speed and Angels" (2008 naval aviation documentary)
12. "Equals" (2016)
Additional note: This trailer is inspired by that of the video game "Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War" as well as "Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War." It is evident of the combination of Spanish Folk and Latin Pop in the music. That, and the 4-plane flying formations in the middle of the trailer (reminiscent of the Osean Air Force "Wardogs"/"Razgriz" squadron in AC5).
The romantic aspect of the trailer is based on the love story in the anime "The Super Dimensional Fortress Macross," of which the central figures are the characters Hikaru Ichijyo/Ichijo (Rick Hunter in the "Robotech" dub) and Misa Hayase (Lisa Hayes in "Robotech").
Here is another fan music video. It's a tribute to my 2 favorite characters, Nathan West and Shane Vansen, from the sci-fi/action/drama TV series "Space: Above and Beyond."
The song is "Magic" by Jacob Wheeler. It's the love song from the anime OVA "Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory."
The lyrics is as follows:
[VERSE 1]
Don't come to me just 'cause you're lonely tonight
Lonely's only part of your game
As long as you live, you must remember one thing
Give and take are one and the same
[PRE-CHORUS 1]
So, tell me, are you ready
Really, really ready
I don't want your love
For one night
[CHORUS]
'Cause I'm not lookin'
For a love affair
I need the magic
When I hold you near
It's more important
Than a one night stand
I need the magic
When I touch, touch your hand
Lady, Baby...
[VERSE 2]
Don't waste my time
With empty stories of love
I've wasted too much time on my own
And, if I don't find
The right solution for me
I'd rather stay at home all alone
[PRE-CHORUS 2]
'Cause I'm the one who wants you
Oh, how much I want you
But, Lady
It's just got to be right
[CHORUS]
[BRIDGE]
I need you so close
To my heart
Come into my world
We can share everything there
I need your magic
Right from the start (Magic)
'Cause then, you'll be my love
Magic undercover
No one will be stopping us now
[CHORUS x2]
[ENDING VERSE]
Whoa, Baby, my, my, my, my, my, my, my Baby
I need the magic, Baby
Gotta have the magic, Baby
Your love, your love
Need your magic, Baby
Think of Mr. Wheeler's song as a combination of Phil Collins and either Lionel Richie, Gregory Abbott, or Marvin Gaye.
Here is my second music video tribute to Lieutenant Nathan West and Captain Shane Vansen, the main guy and girl - respectively, from the sci-fi/action/drama TV series "Space: Above and Beyond" (a.k.a. S:AAB and "Space 2063").
The song is "Come Undone" by British new wave band Duran Duran. Duran x 2 is one of the most popular groups that defined the classic rock scene in the late 70s up to mid-90s. Come to think of it, though, the first song I heard from them was "I Don't Want Your Love" and thought that was their #1 hit. It turns out I was wrong. "Undone" was THE mega-hit of the group alongside "Hungry Like the Wolf."
In this video, the song focuses on the relationship of Nathan and Shane. Even though it was not much of a romantic one (as we all were mistakenly led to be), I for one could see the closeness between the two throughout the only season of the show.
In my honest, most credible opinion, they should have been made the "Golden Couple" in the spirit of the relationship between Domon Kasshu and Rain Mikamura from the anime "Mobile Fighter G Gundam" (or, just simply, "G Gundam").
Now, I know, I know - haters are gonna hate since Shane tends to be paired off with Cooper Hawkes by fans of the show like myself. The stink of that latter pairing is that Shane just tends to be a mother figure to Coop who was born from a giant canister as an artificial human with brute strength. Hence, there is definitely no romance between Vansen and Hawkes whatsoever. That's why I say "West and Vansen FTW!"
This fan-made music video is for entertainment purposes only. "Come Undone" by Duran Duran and S:AAB are properties of their respective owners.

Summary:
Nathan and Shane spend 2 days on liberty at Bacchus like they did before with the rest of the “Wildcards.” What ensues next during the night in the middle of their liberty entails hilarity, further intimacy, and the exploration of each other’s romantic competency as they spend a special moment reserved only for the both of them, no one else.
This is an experiment on what could have been for the 1995-1996 sci-fi action/drama TV show "Space: Above and Beyond."
Two of the protagonists, Marine Corps Lieutenants Nathan West (Morgan Weisser) and Shane Vansen (Kristen Cloke), would have become the "golden couple" of the show had it not for Vansen going M.I.A. and West reuniting with his long lost love Kylen Celina.
Even some of the crew delved on the idea for a bit. Well, I am here to resuscitate that thought back to life.
Here is the forgotten little love story between Nathan and Shane to the tune of "Take My Breath Away" by Berlin (a.k.a. the love theme from "Top Gun").
4. Producers: Jerry Bruckheimer ("Top Gun," "March or Die") and Naomi Kawase ("Still in the Water")
5. Countries involved in the making: U.S., Japan, United Kingdom
6. Fictional critique tagline: "Think Macross, Gundam, Iron Sky, Top Gun, Stargate, and Space Battleship Yamato rolled into one!" by "Kasumi Takahara" of Tokyo Times
7. Poster tagline: "Get ready for the wildest intergalactic adventure!"
Another Top Gun-inspired movie poster for my fighter pilot comic "Check-6." "Young Lions" is the prequel to that.
The tagline: "All is fair in love, friendship, and aerial combat!" (parody of "All is fair in love and war" - modification geared towards fighter pilots)
Here we have:
1. Justin Nozuka as LTJG Kotaro "Pretty Boy" Tsurugi (note the Tom Cruise-like smirk on his portrait with AO Eyewear aviator shades)
2. Lily Collins as LTJG Kate "9-Lives" Wheeler (note her portrait with a pair of Ray Ban Cats 5000 plastic aviator shades with blue flash lenses)
3. Josh Hutcherson as Aviation Electronics Technician 3rd Class (AT3) Bryan "Ski" Kowalski (Kotaro and Kate's plane captain)
