I said “never.” I couldn’t possibly. They would eat me alive. I’m too gay. I wouldn’t survive. I will never join the military. As of 16Dec2021, I am officially a proud member of the Air Force. Not only did I survive the extreme challenges and demanding schedule…I thrived. My flight collected every EXCELLENCE award possible that could be achieved by a group and I was awarded Honor Grad which put me in the top 10 percent of my class. It’s cliche but never say never. I could possibly. I devoured every opportunity to be a leader. Being gay was an asset. I did survive. Now on to new challenges. Aim high. Fly. Fight.
