As his head snapped back into place with an audible crack, fractures spiderwebbed across his cheek. His cold eyes locked on Sakura, “I’d stop that. This body doesn’t feel pain.”

His body fixed back into position, smirking, “You women sure love doing pointless things, heh heh.”

But then, a memory intruded, unwanted. He wouldn’t allow anyone to see the cracks in his armor.

“I wont feel anything even if my own grandmother were to die.”

“Up until now, I’ve killed hundreds, thousands of people. She would be no different from any of them.”

“She too… is no different from any of them.”

“My heart is just like this body…”

Sakura clenched her teeth, rage boiling over.

“Things are simpler that way—”

Im sorry this one’s pretty sad. :c Sasori makes it clear that love has no place in his cold empty heart. He does not care for his grandmother and Rini’s just another tool in his arsenal... Just like everyone else to him. A weapon, future material.

Nothing more.

Im sure Sakura’s not going to like that one. ✨

The flashback is of Sasori and Rini having encountered a rare plant that only grows off the side of mountains, upon seeing her excitement, Sasori decides to use his threads to shake the mountain-side tree until it drops a sample or two for her.

Of course, Rini is very grateful and rewards Sasori for his effort. ❤️

💮 リニの話 • Kazekage’s Rescue Arc 💮

Why...? Chiyo’s face twisted in confusion. This girl threw herself in the way of Sasori. A man so far removed from humanity. Who was she? She clearly moved of her own accord, so why? Why would she save him?

Not even Sasori had words in this very moment, his mouth slightly agape with only a mild form of shock in his doll eyes.

Sakura fell, too injured to have a reaction like Chiyo did, now passed out from her own wound.

“Sakura!” Chiyo immediately rushed to the pink haired girl’s side, beginning to heal her as she removed the sword from her.

“It’s futile. I pierced a vital spot,” Sasori finally said, “she’ll soon be dead even without poison. She’s lost too much blood. Since you’re also a Medical Ninja, I aimed for a spot that could not be easily healed.”

“I’ve finished first aid.. I’m giving her my own life energy.”

Sasori’s eyes widened slightly, and Rini froze in shock. Reanimation Jutsu!

Chiyo continued, “It’s a jutsu I spent years creating originally for you... With this jutsu, life can even be breathed into puppets.”

Rini’s face betrayed her disbelief as she stared at the old woman. She knew Chiyo was Sasori’s grandmother, but hearing her words felt like peering into a window of Sasori’s past—the pain he must’ve dealt. She glanced at the puppets who pierced her, it was clear.

These were dolls—crafted in the image of Sasori’s parents. The resemblance to him was uncanny, their features hauntingly familiar...

“In exchange for the caster’s life that is...” Chiyo’s expression saddened, “but in hindsight, it’s a dream that won’t be realized...”

【Ｔｏ　ｂｅ　ｃｏｎｔｉｎｕｅｄ．．．】

Okay so Edo Tensei (Reanimation Jutsu) has now been mentioned twice in her story, I wonder what the reason is?! Is there a theme??? Thoughts? Well, you'll find out why soon enough! (Maybe...)

So, as you can see, the dialogue is the following the same timeline… while Rini is actively un-aliving. 💀 I know I know, but unfortunately Sakura and Chiyo are not on the side of the Akatsuki, so they probably won’t be the ones to save her life 😬

Im looking forward to the next few story posts! It gets more interesting, I swear! Im hoping the build up for the surprise I have for a special ability of Rini’s will be worth the amount of posts this is taking AHHHHH

I also felt this conversation was important for me to have Rini part of! The reason I decided to take the AU this way to get Rini to forcibly learn about Sasori. This fight/dialogue I think is very important to Sasori’s character development. 💖

Did you know Sasori is only a point below the two highest scores in Naruto? (Jiraiya and Itachi at 35.5)

Based on the amount of category wins, Sasori is the winner, this is backed up by the fact that Sasori counters Rini almost entirely. Despite being the winner of the Genjutsu category, it matters little if he is almost completely immune! (unless his core is physically touched) Taijutsu is also a near-failure considering physical attacks don't effect him either.

BEHOLD SOME VERY OLD ART. (I want to redraw them ahhh)

Ill get to this in a second ^^^ Some disclaimers first!

Admin/mun loves Deidara very much. He's been one of my favorites since he's been introduced, so naturally I paired him with my first OC ever-- 20 something years ago, I changed that to Itachi when I created Rini. Itachi is my all time favorite character in anime, ever. Lol. So naturally I need to pair him with my OC right???

However, I never liked Rini and Itachi together, I couldnt figure out why. So I continually changed Rini and her story to try and fit her into Itachi's life.

This was until I realized as a late-20s adult, I felt Itachi's story was complete as is, and he had his love story already via his sibling love with Sasuke. I didnt need Rini in his life as a lover just because he's my favorite.

During this time, I did also secretly ship Deidara and Rini together, honestly, I always have and probably always will, he was my first Naruto love, even before Itachi. <3

Rini's official story goes like this however: Deidara and Rini are never an official couple, Rini does not have feelings for Deidara like that. Deidara does have those feelings for her however. (Unrequited love dundundun)

But I do occasionally draw them kind of shippy for fun hehe.

Sasori finds Deidara's crush annoying and believes Rini's out of his league. (never says this outloud cause he must keep up the uncaring facade) But will occasionally jab at Deidara for gawking, being an idiot around Rini, wasting his time, blah blah, but ofc, because Sasori's impatient and doesnt like Deidara.... Not for any other reason. (sarcasm)
