Pencil drawing (04.30.2025)

I used the most iconic ‘Morticia Adams’ actress Anjelica Huston as reference and it was very nice practice outside of my comfort zone! Tried to use a medium and style that I haven’t really used before. The pencils were quite pale, which was a bit of a shame, but the lightness adds a dreamy feel which I enjoy.

First time trying acrylic paint which was very fun! On top of this being a new medium I haven’t painted anything in a very long time, but It came together nicely in the end. Had some help from my mentor, which made my practice with drawing definitely easier.

Progress of my soft pastel portraits!!!

It’s crazy seeing the progress of my self portraits, I’m loving the colours and it’s making more and more sense.They all might look like three different people haha but I don’t mind since I mainly wanted to figure out how to use colours nicely.I always have a stank face while drawing and it shows in the drawings :P

I recently rewatched “The lord of the rings: The fellowship of the ring” and decided to draw a scene from the film.I used some new pastels so the colours are more realistic compared to my other drawings.

Soft pastel portrait of my best friend

This was the first more realistic soft pastel portrait I drew but it came out very nice, I was helped by a mentor who has a more trained eye for mistakes so that helped really bringing it together.This was also the last page of my sketchbook :D

Self portrait in pastels

This was my first attempt at a coloured self portrait so it kind of feels unfinished but that’s okey for practice so I’ll post another one later :D

Pastels have been so fun to work with and have helped me learn a lot.I need to work more on my proportions,angles and colour theory for mixing colours especially skin.I love how vibrant the pastels are :D if you have any advice I’d be happy to hear from fellow artist!

First time trying soft pastel portrait, I’m doing this at 2 am listening to the “over the garden wall” soundtrack and it’s great :D

I feel like the angle which she’s looking at isn’t the same in my drawing( because I was sitting on my bed ) but I’m still quite proud of it ;P pastels a messy girl but it’s really fun
