“Tell us Rose....” “Its been 84 years.......” - - - No just kidding. This year is my tenth year surfing!!! 🍋🍋🍋 Where does the time fly?! There’s still some real besties I remember..... this one wave is a picture I think I will hold in my mind forever. At Woolacombe, tiny one foot wonders, crystal clear water. We surf all day. I was up dancing on the wave, the sun was shimmering on the water and I look down at the shoal of big silver fish glistening in the ocean, swimming in between waves under my board in the shallows. This image is burnt in my mind. Another time we saw dolphins swimming in my local spot 🐬 incredible. Paddled desperately to catch up with them but alas, they were so fast. Each fin popping in and out of the water as they were swimming at the surface was so beautiful to see. Never forget the day my husband and I were waiting for a wave and a fisherman cast his net around us in his boat? 😂Then offered us a fish for dinner..... 🧐😅 what was I going to do with that? The only way to describe the way I am working right now is through investigation and experimentation. I have this privilege to have complete creative control and freedom over my work. This is for the first time in my adult life. It hasn’t really been this way since I left University. I have grown as an artist and a business woman since then. For a little while I felt like an Artist that quite simply did not make art. The next Travel + Design trip has been planned and we know where inspiration awaits. I am a creature of comfort and I love routine - but last year on our design trip, I discovered what it was like to be the opposite. - - - To remove daily regular routine.
