The founder of the digital agency Rodion Honcharov talks about the launch of a new website and portal for "ANTONOV".

In the summer of 2019, Antotov State Enterprise presented a new corporate website, which has become a modern presentation platform. This is not a simple design update, but a fundamentally new concept.
During the interview with the CEO of digital agency Rubarb Rodion Honcharov spoke about the specifics of working with manufacturing companies.
Why did you dare to cooperate with a state enterprise? Weren't you afraid that bureaucracy will destroy your work?
"Sure thing, we were worried that there would be difficulties on the work due to the branched structure of the enterprise. When a company is huge, you cannot do without bureaucracy, especially if it is a state brand. But even at the stage of signing the contract, we got acquainted with representatives of the company, who expressed their interest in creating a fundamentally new, modern functional product. They shared their enthusiasm with us, that is why we took the risk of taking on such a huge project."
Weren't you afraid of hate on the part of society? How did users rate your work?
"The defence industry is a fairly closed and traditional industry. The public's reaction was mixed, the majority supported the renewed brand vision, but not without the negative. The main thing is that the key foreign partners of the company positively perceived the result of our work."
A challenge in everything: how to win a tender from a state-owned enterprise?
"Rubarb is an ambitious digital agency that focuses on a collaboration with manufacturing companies. It was our positioning that became one of the advantages at the tender.

What are the difficulties in working with a state-owned company?
"The debriefing stage introduced us to the management of the enterprise, they explained to us the specifics of the company's work, how to properly position the brand at the global level. Also, a task was set that did not directly relate to digital.
Rubarb was asked to do something completely new, but at the same time preserve the established tradition and the heart of the brand. "Antonov" operates internationally, interacting with partners and customers from dozens of countries around the world. To take into account the peculiarities of the designated target audience, its mentality and, at the same time, the wide range of the company's services, I will honestly say that it was not easy to cope with the taks set. Big contracts are big risks.”
"We were not chasing European standards, the trend of minimalism and so on. Our team worked closely with each department of the "Antonov" enterprise: they studied production, communicated not only with the management, but also with engineers and other employees. This allowed us to create a design with "meanings" that fill the national brand from the inside" - says Rodion Honcharov, CEO of the Rubarb digital agency.
What were the features of the development of such a project?
"We made the resource as dynamic as possible, as it was planned to use a large number of animated parts and 3D models. At the same time, the site is visually "airy" and easy to use.
We spent a lot of time studying and analyzing the user experience: we made navigation easier and at the same time increased the amount of information available to the user. For example, in the drop-down menu in the first place are the aircraft that are used and sold today, as well as the section concerning their technical support.
Airplanes created in different years of the enterprise's operation including those that have already been taken out of production, are taken out and grouped into a separate block, but this is history - you need to remember it."
Six months after the launch of the site, Antonov launched a Web portal for its clients, which was also developed by the full-cycle digital agency Rubarb. As you can see, the transformations continue. In our country, we are so afraid to advertise ourselves that at first we tell a lot of secondary things, and then we move on to the strengths of the brand. Abroad, you should immediately give "meat" to a potential client, interest them - world brands do just that.
We were guided by this principle when creating the architecture of the new site "ANTONOV". A modern website should present a company in 5 seconds, or you will simply lose a client. The Antonov company is the face of our country and it was logical to show the main strength of the brand, which is known all over the world.
