Spect scrolled mindlessly on his phone. People didn’t bother him. He didn’t want to be bothered, anyhow. “So, like I was saying,” Nightshade giggled excitedly. “I totally dunked on that kid. I might be the best in my grade!” Spect enjoyed listening to his rambles. Kept the mind off what he’d done.

“M’ sure ya are, Sunshine.” He mumbled, slowly putting his phone down.

 “I really wanna do good in basketball. I know you’d be proud if I did, so-”

“Don’t get hurt.” He said softly, though his tone was sharp.

“Hehe, I’ll try!”

“Don’t try.” He paused, trying not to let his fear slip through. “Just don’t get hurt. Please.”

“Hmm… Oki!!”

“Rubik. I wanna visit home.” Spect said suddenly, leaning against the back of The Desk.

“Why? You know restoring that trash dump costs me good money.” Rubik questioned sharply, handing RC a stack of papers and dismissing her. “We destroyed that timeline for good reason. Keeping you alive is risk in its own.”

“Rubik.” He argued, matching her tone. “You don’t get paid. Let me go home.”“Why.” She asked again.

“You know why.” He answered flippantly.

Rubik groaned. “You’re owing me one for this, Brother-killer.”

Spect tripped over the rubble suddenly, snapping out of his thoughts. He pushed his hair out of his eyes, looking up silently at the rubble of the trailer park he used to call home. He stepped through it all, his emotions empty, if he even had any about being here. He made his way to the backyard, his guilt growing harder. Heavier. Yet still he made no reaction. It’s not like anyone existed in this hollow shell of a timeline anymore to see him cry. Yet, he still found himself unable to at times.

He approached his brother’s grave, shaking and silent. The dirt was that odd kind of crunchy beneath him as he sat down, mulling over his thoughts. “Hey… Rome.” He began slowly. “I was gonna raid your room for some shirts again. Ya mind?” He knew he was speaking to only himself. But he still felt it wrong to not give warning. “Yeah, thanks bro. …I miss ya, yanno. I think I always kinda thought I knew how much ya did for me, but then other times I sit there while Sunshine’s talkin’, and I worry that I can’t save him from what I went through…” Spect sighed, shifting in on himself.

“You’d think it wouldn’t haunt me when it’s all I do. But with every flash and bang, I can’t help but wonder, I guess. I could’ve saved you. I should have saved you. I was just… too stupid to think you’d follow, to stupid to check when I heard someone pass, too fucking idiotic to look away when you called my name, out in that dustbed, when that c4 sparked and I was the only one with the cover to survive…” He hissed. “I should have been the one to die there! I should have never let myself last a second without you! You coulda handled it, big bro, I CAN’T!! WHY CAN’T YOU JUST SAY SOMETHING-?!”

So, y'all know that dystopia I'm working on, and by working on I mean i spend like 5 hours every day worldbuilding (I hope to start actually writing by late april, assuming deltarune doesnt tomorrow), yeah, yall know the one. Okay, so part of that worldbuilding is religion, so... whoops, I guess I made a few Gods? Anyway, so.

Pheste [Fest-e] Goddess of nature and the stars. Legend details that at one time her wings were so large they could stop the clouds from bringing heavy storms, but since the rapid decline of the natural realm, they have melted and withered to the point they are nearly unusable.

Surcya [Soar-Seeya] Goddess of Pure Vanity and Performance

The child of Pheste, who went behind her back many a millenia ago to perform for the mortals. Her multiverse-renowned beauty has given her a complex that she is truly better than anyone she comes across. This sense of vanity has helped many a Survivor to live another day, hence the trait being regarded so purely. (No, she's not purely Pheste's child to explain the stars in her design whyever would you assume that?) However, the difference between this vanity and what has drawn many to darkness is crystally clear.

Vaunyc [Vow-Nick] or [Vaw-Nick] God of Kinship and Rivalry Vaunyc is much more well known to inspire violence among Survivors, challenging wars between factions or the entertainment of seeing things bleed and burn. However, his genuine interest in willing peace between the creatures of the natural realm has been much of the reason creatures of the Ressurection's project can commune between species.

So I'm working on a uh... dystopia piece... I say piece loosely because I'm half convinced I'll end up with a 319 page novel about these two bozos.
