Imma reblog this with the asks I got so far for my own benefit lol I'll edit it as it changes (They're in order of how I got them btw)
Kamala Khan meeting Thunderbolts (Done)
SamBucky Thing™
Cucumber Escape
StarrBuck chronic pain
Loki timeline = Tony 😏
Everybody (Bi) Loves Bucky
I've been in a writing rut the past few. Months, so I guess I'll pitch this again!
My asks are open, if you wanna send me a prompt for an MCU oneshot/fic, pleaaaase do! I work best with externally imposed pressure, and I'll try to write them all <3
Let me see, minor guidelines...
The only MCU character I have a hard line about not writing is Deadpool, unless you are okay with me butchering his voice. I can't hit the sweet spot between 'unhinged feral menace' and 'nonsense', so. Yeah. I'll butcher some others too, but Deadpool I'm horrible at.
Any ships if you want, except Sambucky. Like. LITERALLY any ship. (And I am OPEN to Sambucky depending on the premise, just know it's likely to get a no from me.)
Similarly, eh, not many rules about content. I won't do explicit smut bc I. Can't write it. But anything else, pretty much.
I haven't watched some of the Disney+ shows but I've watched everything important I think.
Okay, I forgot about my Carol/Jennifer/Sylvie/Sam rule, if I write them they WILL be a lil different, because I don't like their canon characterization the mooost-? I love the characters tho, I'm not saying I won't write them.
Bucky, John, Loki, Tony, and/or Harley Keener (Yes, the potato gun kid) are likely to get pushed to the top bc. The hyperfixation is real

hhii, i'd love to read smth like kamala khan meeting the thunderbolts for the first time
Ooh, wait this is a good one <333 (Also woah, that was fast)
...okay disclaimer, I forgot about Marvels so I did not watch that movie. Sorry ig I lied 😔 But I loved Mrs. Marvel! So... let's see how I do ig? I hope I didn't butcher her T-T I also. For the love of me could not figure out how to get them to meet, so take bonus Kate. And you know what, Cassie too, Young Avengers, yay- (I'm throwing Cassie in bc Kamala mentioned her when talking to Kate, so.) Okay. Additional disclaimer from me halfway through writing this, I started with something and then it went the opposite way I wanted, bc slice of life is harder than I thought, so. Kamala gets to meet HALF the Thunderbolts. I am just going to say this as my reason why: Bob = Cat Bucky = Cat Alexei = Golden retriever kept in the backyard so he doesn't barrel people over with enthusiasm
~*~
Well.
Okay.
In Kamala's defense, when she came up with the idea to make a group of child heroes who had been trained by the greats, she may have... forgotten the fact that 'trained by the greats' meant knowing them... personally?
She was still getting used to the whole superheroes... actually knowing each other thing, okay! And besides, it wasn't like the other two had ever mentioned... who exactly they knew.
...okay. Note to future Kamala.
Kate was apparently friends with the freaking leader of the the New Avengers.
Who had invited them to the tower to play video games. Which was something Kate did REGULARLY with them.
Kamala pinched herself again, just to double check she wasn't dreaming. Okay, triple check at this point. She had to fight back the urge to touch EVERYTHING as she trailed after Kate and Yelena. She had no clue how Cassie wasn't freaking out too. THE Avengers Towe- wait, no, Watchtower now, but still. It was the base of the ORIGINAL Avengers. And she was inside.
And about to meet the New Avengers too! There hadn't been that much news coverage on them yet, nobody knew what they were really like. Yeah, sure, what little there was wasn't... the most flattering. But the Daily Bugle was constantly staying stuff about Spider-man, the news wasn't reliable anyways. Mostly. Whatever, she was sure they were going to be SO coo-
"What the fuck-? Why are there kids up- Did I miss a memo or something?"
Kamala blinked, faltering slightly as the guy on the couch- the one that had been Captain America for a bit, uh... John? John Walker, yeah, that was his name - stared at her and Cassie, phone loosely dangling in his grip. He was sprawled across the couch, a mix of confusion and annoyance in his eyes. There was a beat, before Cassie and Kamala exchanged a look.
Wait, did the New Avengers... not know they were coming or somethng?
Yelena rolled her hand, waving it as she walked away from Kate and snatched John's phone on her way past him. "If you don't like it, go to your room," the widow added flippantly, scrolling through the phone she was holding and ignoring the way the confusion had very quickly been swallowed up by the annoyance. "Kate just brought her friends this time. The... Glowy One and the Bug."
Cassie blinked, giving Yelena an irritated look. The Russian just ignored her, continuing to scroll through John's phone for whatever reason. "Stature, it's not- Nevermind. My name's Cassie." She waved slightly, and Kamala did too. Oh, she had so many questions. Like holding Cap's shield, that HAD to be great, righ- Wait, right, introductions.
"Uh, I'm Kamala! And you're John Walker, right?"
...he looked even madder now, did she say something wrong?
"Okay, I don't have time to deal with this bullshit." Kamala's smile faltered, as the man got up, storming past the girls and grabbing his phone back from Yelena. "If you want to keep pulling this, Yelena, whatever, I can't stop you. I'm going to my room."
Kate, Kamala, and Cassie all blinked, leaning forward slightly to watch him storm off into the elevator. There was a long awkward silence, before Kamala piped up, a wave of guilt washing over her. "...I didn't mean to-"
"No, no, that is just John. Don't worry about it," Yelena interrupted, waving her hand and going over to grab the controllers. "He is grumpy like that all the time." Yelena waved them over, setting up Boomerang Fu. Kate happily took one and plopped back on the couch. After a moment, Cassie followed, settling down next to Kate and apparently getting perfectly comfortable. "I'm going to go grab Ava." Yelena straightened up, turning to go with a grin. "You should practice. I am quite good at the fruit game. You stand no chance."
"You said that the last five times, Yelena," Kate shot over her shoulder with a smirk as Yelena walked off. "And I'm still the champion."
"And I have more forks than humans."
"Oh, c'mon!"
~*~
It only took ten minutes for Yelena to come back with Ava- Ghost, according the papers. Not that there was... anything about her in the news beyond that. If everybody knew John Walker, nobody knew Ava.
Which was insane because she was. Incredibly cool. Her powers were sick! Phasing? Invisibility? Kamala couldn't imagine what she could do with those superpowers. Maybe she just didn't like the spotlight...? Her code-name was Ghost, that sorta made sense, Kamala guessed.
Still. Ava was so cool.
It also only took ten minutes to prove Kate was right about who was the best at this game.
"I told you," Kate teased, as the screen showed Donut winning AGAIN. Kamala was dead last too, for the third time. She groaned almost, while Yelena muttered a few Russian words that sounded suspiciously like swears and Cassie grumbled. Ava hadn't even bothered trying to play. Kamala was pretty sure she was more here for moral support. And to watch them suffer. "I'm always going to win."
"I demand a rematch," Yelena added, already setting it up as she lightly kicked Kate. "This is just bullshit."
"I agree," Cassie piped up from where she'd been steadily losing her cool every time somebody sniped her.
"You guys really like losing." Yelena shot something back in Russian that was DEFINITELY a swear.
"You're almost as annoying as John," Ava muttered, leaning on the couch back. Oh, right! That reminded Kamala-
"Where are the others?" Ava blinked, giving Kamala a confused glance that had the teen going red in embarrassment. "I just- there were five of you in the news, so I thought..."
"Bucky's in his room," Ava explained dryly, leaning further into the couch as the others started a match without Kamala. It was fine, she wasn't in the mood to lose again anyways. Superhero facts would top that anyday. "He does that every time people come over. Bob too." Kamala blinked in confusion.
"Bob?"
"Bob." Ava shrugged, thinking for a moment. "He's not a New Avenger, he's. Sorta like our mascot, I guess you could call him. He doesn't do good around strangers though. He gets all fidgety."
...see the main thing Kamala was learning about the New Avengers was that apparently Ava was cool, Yelena was also cool, John Walker was apparently prickly, and two of them were cats.
"What about the red guy then?" Kamala asked, trying to piece this together in her head.
"...Yelena sent him out to buy Wheaties."
Kamala lit up. "Oh, the ones with The New Avengers on them? I love those!"
"And so does Alexei. Which is how Yelena keeps him out of the towers for guests."
Oh. Huh.
Kamala blinked, before settling back down.
The New Avengers weren't exactly what she'd been expecting. They were just... not perfect, and LOUD about it. Yelena kept swearing at the screen, Kamala had interacted with John for all of five minutes and already didn't want to again, and Ava had mostly been quiet unless directly asked something. They were just so different from the other heroes Kamala had met.
It was a good thing, actually. They weren't picture-perfect heroes, just. Real. Maybe Kamala should take a couple pages out of their book.
...not the swearing. Her mom would kill her.

I will one day learn how to make a webcomic/tbh ideally animate.
And then I will spawn my Underworld gods sitcom idea.
Until then. I will redesign Hel like 50 times.

This needed to be done for science
*if you vote Banner/Hulk, please tell me who between the two of them has the worse puppy eyes. My gut says Hulk bc big sad green guy just going 🥺 would be soul crushing but I'm willing to be persuaded
Obviously this is not an exhaustive list, I just threw out the first names that popped in my head for who I thought would have the power pout. I'm also not caught up on MCU stuff so I'm sure there's other arguments to be made for characters I'm not yet familiar with
Feel free to ramble about your opinions in the comments/rbs, I look forward to seeing the debate!!

This is an unpopular opinion, but I agree with you that cap!John is better than cap!Sam.
It seems to me that in an attempt to show Sam as a more suitable cap, the marvel turned everything upside down. I mean, we saw how Sam fully embraced the role of Captain America, and how John started to move away from that image (dirty, darker suit without star, beard, he refused the helmet in the post-credits scene, etc.). And you know what? Guess which of these paths Steve Rogers chose!
* Paste the picture of nomad Steve here *
Seriously, I don't think it's intentional, but these parallels are more convincing than the cheap references to catws in Sam's movie.
Yessss, I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thinks that.
A big thing is also I don't think Sam was well-prepped to become Cap? Like, narratively. He went from really just a side character (As opposed to Bucky, for example, who was always in the flux of side character/main character) to replacing one of the OG 6?
I don't know how to explain it, but it feels like he got a massive jump and we aren't told why in-universe. I had less issue with John SPAWNING out of nowhere and being Cap bc he was. Written FOR that if it makes sense, I have no clue if it does. Sam, meanwhile, was Falcon. And then he's suddenly Cap. The jump.
But omg, I never noticed the parallels you pointed out and you're so right about the physical parallels being there too, and Sam sorta flipping and being too much Cap and not enough... Sam.
I was just telling my dad Steve technically worked w/ the government a LOT, but never FOR them, and John, to me, seems to be moving into that same area, while Sam's... not. Steve just did wtfever he wanted the SECOND he disagreed- (I mean this lovingly obvi)

OH
Guys, tell me if I finally figured this bs out- (At least, one way it works)
Marvel's time travel is interesting beyond belief. Read: I HATE IT. The Loki series and intro of the TVA just... yeah. Made the time heist fun.
Anyways, basically, the TVA states they can't prune timelines once they pass a certain point. Buuuut in S2, and with Deadpool and Wolverine, it was revealed timelines can die, and the TVA can bomb/kill them.
SO. What if Avengers went back in time and DID cause branching timelines like our Loki variant's. Our Loki stealing the cube is a part of the 'sacred timeline' for the 'Sacred Timeline Avengers', but isn't a part of the overall timeline's plan (Basically: It's in the plan for the Sacred Timeline to be messed up here) bc idk, smth about the trip back to meet Howard was needed.
The TVA then pruned all the branches. So yeah, sorry Ancient One, you're fucked anyways. The Avengers didn't NEED to replace the infinity stones, the timelines were already fucked (We never saw Steve replace them, so we don't know how that could have possibly played out. Spoiler: It didn't. He left them in places or smth bc he couldn't be seen by his past self, and the TVA pruned those branches too. After all, there are SO many infinity stones there.)
And then Steve goes and creates another branch where he lives happily ever after with Peggy.
And the SECOND he goes back to give the shield to Sam, bc THAT's needed for the Sacred Timeline, his branch timeline gets nuked and dies out.
Loki's time slipping is different from time-travel, he doesn't make branches, he basically changes the existing canon. It's less 'time travel' and more 'flipping through the pages/editing the story' (He's god of stories in the comics iirc, so there)
And then the events of the Loki series went down and multiverse exists now. But. That's how time travel happened BEFORE (Bc there is a before in the TVA.)
Oh, and potential arguments and their counters: 1, 'The Ancient one directly mentions a darkness if the stones are taken' : The 'darkness' was the TVA. The branches were made because the stone were taken, and so they went kaput. 2, 'Loki series vs Endgame timeline' : They DO prune every branch instantly. Sylvie, they couldn't find. They have a time limit to prune branches' 3, 'Steve 'always existing in the main timeline' : Technically, and this is the thing, is we're not told he didn't jump back. A lot of ppl think he waited for his wife to die, and then jumped back to the present to give Sam the shield before dipping. And if that's the case, then his timeline could be nuked <3 Idfk, I'm tired. I hope this makes sense. basically, the TV pruning everything is my answer.

Sam is also not the only active ‘Avenger’, Bucky is too but haters like to ignore that fact as well.
Oh, I know this, but I put 'Avenger' in quotes for a reason. I'm talking SPECIFICALLY about people who were formally on the team (This isn't an attack on you, it's me explaining bc I think I explained why I said it poorly)
Bucky IS an Avenger. But he only started to be called an Avenger after Endgame (Bc he was gone during the Blip. He was 100% an Avenger during Endgame, just not 'officially'), after Tony's death, after the Avengers as a team were just COMPLETELY disbanded. Not even post CW, when it was split, post Endgame where it's just. Gone. So he was never 'officially' part of the team. Sam was, on the other hand.
So when I say Sam's the only active 'Avenger' left (In quotes for a reason, I'm talking about the team not the title), I mean an Avenger who was on the metaphorical payroll. Bucky WAS an Avenger, he just never officially/formally was one when the team was active (Ig I'm thinking of it as smth like Quicksilver in AoU, where Quicksilver fought w/ the Avengers, but he died before he officially was dubbed an 'Avenger'. That was Bucky in IW)
And the only reason I mentioned it was because I was thinking that's the only thing that could have Sam thinking he could pick in my head, is maybe bc he's thinking he's the only 'official' Avenger left, and Bucky was an add-on. And that's reflecting the haters thoughts bc, as you said, some ppl like to ignore that. So I was thinking it could make sense Sam was ignoring it too, at least on some subconscious level.
But dang, if it really was just bc he was Cap and thought he had power, wtf. Sam. What-
Oki, I got mad by a Marvel post, damn I'm tired. (I'm not reblogging bc it's not hate from me, I'm tired and on a shorter fuse, and also like. I don't want to tell their opinion is bad bc I personally disagree. But I will say I don't like it.)
Anyways, the post was basically saying that the OP wants Thunderbolts to be a stupid co-dependent mess nobody else gets and thinks is weird, and not comic relief (I agree, PLEASE).
But what pissed me off was a comment that Sam is one of the most important parts of Bucky's character. It. No. He isn't??? At all???
STEVE was. Because Steve and Bucky were FUCKING codependent, in a lot of ways. It doesn't have to be interpreted as romantic, but you cannot deny that the most important person in their arcs was each other. No matter how you spin it, almost all of Steve's arc is revolved around getting Bucky back, and Steve being Bucky's is pretty explanatory since Bucky's presented as Steve's best friend.
Sam's just sorta. There in Bucky's arc, actually. They can be considered friends after TFATWS (I personally see it as not the best friendship, but that's my opinion.
Sam's a new guy in Bucky's life. They also talk, but they're not implied to be THAT big of a deal in each other's arcs. Well, Sam's not a big ONGOING deal to Bucky's arc. The opposite can't be said.
Bucky IS inherently a big part of Sam's arc, because Sam's current arc is proving himself as Cap/being the new Cap (Which he had two different things about, so atp I don't even think it's that.). As such, who would you go for validation that you live up to the shield's legacy?
The first cap's best friend.
I do think this is why Bucky was in TFATWS. Everybody makes a big deal about John calling Sam and Bucky wingmen (Which they objectively were. The funny thing is when I think of wingmen, and this just might be me, I think of guys getting dates and having their buddies help out? So I think of it as John calling them Steve's close friends?), but Bucky is... really there as Sam's sidekick. SAM is the main character of that show, Bucky's a major character, but a side character.
On the contrary, Bucky's arc now is about guilt, and getting over his past. Which.
Which team is sorta all about that?
Sam makes ONE comment about it, and if you've seen my past posts, you'll know I personally dislike that scene anyways. The New Avengers literally have forgiving yourself for past misdeeds (Whether bc of manipulation, brainwashing, mind control etc) as their common trait. The Void is LITERALLY filled with *shame rooms* of your past regrets.
As such, my argument is the Thunderbolts are a bigger part of Bucky's current arc than Sam.
(Forgive me if this doesn't make sense it is 1:30 here-)

Going to expand on this later, but I think a long-term Bucky as Captain America OR John as Captain America could have been better than Sam getting the shield in Endgame. I'll expand, I just need to. Sleep.

Damn it, I wanted to comment on the tagsssss, but I can't take a screenshot of them for some reasonnn (Read them tho). I wanted to comment agree w/ all of them SO much, ESPECIALLY (no hate to the actor) but Sam's character went downhill after he got the shield. (And I agree with it not being a friendship, I just used that term here bc that's what the MCU pushes, so. Yeah.)
I'm a firm believer of Cap Bucky OR even Cap John mainly because I don't think Sam's character had a big enough role to be one of the MAIN main characters yet (Idk if I'm the only one who'd think the idea of Falcon solo movies w/ Sam as Falcon had potential in Phase 4/5/6. Or even in 1/2/3 to set up Sam as this BIG big character, so he doesn't feel from B character going to A+ character.)
And YES. Sam's jokes are not funny. The big one I can think of is when he calls Bucky 'a bionic killing machine' who's 'killed almost every one he met'. (Especially because it was in regards to pardoning Sharon, who was an actual, active criminal. He was comparing forced slavery to active criminal choices). And he victim blames Bucky sooo much. He straight up saids the wrongdoings *you* enabled. Bucky didn't. Enable anything.
Anyways, about the New Avengers v Sam thing, where Bucky's being attacked, Sam doesn't even have a team, as far as we are concerned. That's the weirdest part to me, and I'm so lost here tbh. Like, if anybody could explain to me how/why Sam's doing this/ppl are on his side? And this is a genuine question, I'm still confused after watching it twice.
Like, he has no team to even call Avengers...? Why is he so bothered about a team calling themselves the New Avengers? Is it a legacy thing? And yeah, Steve was made leader because he was first, not bc he was Cap (And tbh, I always thought Steve and Tony sorta co-led too.)? So why does Sam suddenly feel he can choose? Is it bc he's, iirc, the only active 'Avenger' (I mean of the team. Sam was officially on the team) left? Idk, I'm confused af here.
Oki, I got mad by a Marvel post, damn I'm tired. (I'm not reblogging bc it's not hate from me, I'm tired and on a shorter fuse, and also like. I don't want to tell their opinion is bad bc I personally disagree. But I will say I don't like it.)
