Ruby, Weiss and Blake dating an Assassin?

DATING AN ASSASSIN

RUBY ROSE

from the term alone, Ruby would assume it would be a relatively “cool” idea in theory. at least, until she discovers the requirements and what is expecting of an “assassin”.

a weapon-lover, Ruby would be more than willing to discuss what their preferred form of fighting style is, especially if they have a signature weapon. she would love to tinker with any blades, daggers, or steel, and question as to how they defeat Grimm with it.

though, as they explain that they use it on not just Grimm, but humans as well, she will show initial hesitance. partially due to her own fear, as her life could be on the line, but also what their true motives.

she is one for understanding, so if this person holds this occupation, she will a) want to understand why they live such a dangerous life and b) discover who they ally with. even if she discovers that this person is for their own or enemy assassin, she will do her best to give them the benefit of the doubt, as people are placed in occupations they cannot always control.

dating, however, will be difficult, as she is one to worry, and her older sister will be quick to call them out on any of their nonsense. speaking of which, Yang will be heavily against the idea because of potential to put Ruby in danger. granted, they are all Huntsman in training and that already entails danger, however a relationship with a person who assassinates others would have any member on high alert.

as Ruby has her own priorities and is incredibly adamant about stopping Salem, it may come to only brief moments of interaction and privacy. her friends are incredibly protective of her, so expect to hear their words and overall hesitance towards them.

if they establish they are a dependable and trustworthy person, Ruby would always take what they give her in pride. she wishes not to judge, but will question as to why they do what they do, for her sake. certain barriers she will not overstep, but as her duty as a Huntress to do what she believes is right.

WEISS SCHNEE

from the moment one would approach her stating they are an assassin, she would instantly decline. she is already standoffish, and having, in her eyes, a “less-than-ideal” profession, does not warrant any brownie points.

as a Huntress, a Schnee, and with a party that is out to destroy Salem, she would rather not have another target painted on her back because of an assassin taking interest in her. in addition, she would not like to entertain the idea of someone who kills people for their own personal gain associated with her.

while she has matured, she inwardly does not want to complicate things as they need be nor have someone who could attempt to woo her just to harm her, or worse, her friends.

though, as time would progress, Weiss would come to terms and weigh the pros and cons of dating someone with such an occupation. it is not that she is necessarily against them, as a person, but the fears and complications that would come with such a “career” would leave her on edge. 

Weiss thinks of the long run when it comes to dating. how would her friends, family, the public, react – what would their reputation be like? while she states she is “more than the Schnee name”, she still has her pride, and is widely defiant in what she would be for or against. trying to get close to her emotionally would be incredibly difficult.

BLAKE BELLADONNA

the former White Fang member would be the most understanding, though question your reasoning. as she was involved with those who were seen as uncanny, and nonconventional, it would not be past her to involve herself with someone who has an incredibly dangerous profession.

the Faunus is understanding, but she is far from unintelligent in regards to her own well-being of dating someone as such. “who do you work for?” “why are you in your field?” “who is after you?” “why do you kill as a living?” are just examples of things she would have cross their mind as they learn, slowly but surely, of the other.

trust and loyalty mean a lot to the Huntress, and while she is nowhere near perfect, she would have to build trust with a person who claims to care for her with such an occupation. the last thing Blake would want would be to place her friends in danger because of someone who is an assassin, and could possibly harm them.

this does not mean that she would not date someone who is an assassin, just as any person, is hesitant. are they working for The White Fang? Salem? or any other unsolicited group she should be worried about?

she would be open to hear their thoughts and venting about what they have to do, and offer support the best way she can. she is not so dismissive to ignore what a person’s qualms are, but needs to be be able to fully aware of the consequences that come with it.

upon first appearance, it would be easy to assume that Yatsuhashi Daichi is an intimidating and stoic Huntsman in training. he doesn’t speak much, and when he does, they are words to be carefully considered and respected. Yatsuhashi keeps his distance, and doesn’t overstay his welcome. however, if one spends more time with him, they learn that he’s more than his seemingly detached personality.

with a team of characters that are more inclined to the arts than one my believe, he takes your love of art seriously and supports you fully through it. Coco, his team leader, adores fashion and appearances, while Velvet enjoys photography, and Fox, the calm nature of his surroundings. you enjoying art is incredibly fascinating to him, and he would question you as to your projects, particular artists, and the related.

as a naturally quiet person, you being slightly timid is nothing he can’t work around. Yatshuhashi is not the type to force you into doing things that would make you uncomfortable, or have you speak if you don’t want to. he’d take things slow, and engage conversation with you when you’re ready. though he is tall and broad, he is a gentle soul at heart, and would be more than delighted to indulge in your more intimate moments of cuddling, hugging, or even casual PDA.

during training or casual outings, he would ask you how you felt and what you’d prefer to do. while he can be rather playful, he isn’t a casanova, so wouldn’t try to overdo the flirting or make you flustered to an obnoxious degree. at least, not on purpose. Yatsuhashi is a gentleman, but isn’t without his own quirks and sense of (somewhat) dry humour. he’s proud to be able to get to know someone like you so closely, and wouldn’t take your time for granted.

he’d help you with your vision should you ever forget your glasses or are momentarily unable to see. though he doesn’t wear them, he wouldn’t be the type to disregard your limited visual awareness. he’s a kind-hearted person and would enjoy every moment he could with you, taking things slowly, and getting to know you all the better.

Since you're an extremely great and amazing writer, I can't help but ask. Why do you think Mercury fought his own father, Marcus Black? What drove Mercury to kill him, to be specific.

Mercury Black is a very peculiar character.

from faction alone, he stands out to me. granted, all of Salem’s – and to a lesser extent, Cinder’s – associates remain incredibly interesting as characters on their own regard. Mercury is the one who i still struggle grasping the fullness of his history.

they’ve given us a small snippet, and as his backstory is commented to be “one of the darkest in all of RWBY.” this raises the question as to just what exactly happened in his upbringing, to have him kill his father. his mother is never mentioned, Mercury appears (as far as we know) to be an only child, and it is implied that his father was an alcoholic. 

from the get-go, one could easily conclude that perhaps his father was the worst of the worst: an abusive, alcoholic man who would better off elsewhere. Marcus Black was an assassin, so clearly lived the less-than-reputable life in order to provide for his family, but as to why Marcus had that profession, we may never know.

my personal headcanon is that Marcus fought his son to test him; to prove that not only could Mercury fight and truly learn from the assassin, but to show that he had a killer instinct inside of him. in a world such as Remnant, a part of me wants to believe that Marcus wanted his son to be able to eliminate any and all possible threats to his son, whether “lovingly”, or not.

until, of course, it’s revealed that Marcus tried to kill him for some other reason. maybe CRWBY will release it sometime! but until then, that’s my take on it!

can i get a matchup? im nb and i love video games, swords, and art. i can be really quiet at first but once i get comfortable its an almost non stop stream of puns and witty one liners. im very romantic and emotional too, i can cry at the drop of a hat. i tend to act as everyones therapist, usually listening to people problems and offering advice if they want it. im okay with either a guy or girl! thank you in advance!

naturally a quiet person, Blake understands what it means to be incredibly to yourself and even in some cases, soft-spoken. never one to press for matters, she respects a persons privacy and would give the necessary space you need, but also to come to you when something concerns. she takes note of how you tend for others immensely, but challenges you to give yourself a break and time, as she’s come to learn.

it will take some time for Blake to become used to healthier romantic practices, but she will do her best to be more open. Her aloofness and instances of giving the “cold shoulder” are still very much apparent, but she does not do this out of spite, moreso it is second-nature to her. she takes the time to analyze a person’s true intentions after multiple mistakes in her past, and wouldn’t want to risk ruining the relationship by jumping in too early.

more emotionally reserved, Blake will attempt to help you in more ways than one to help calm you. while she is not completely shut off, she will provide outside perspectives to your situation. She is not inherently biased, but will provide some insight as to what can or can’t be done to make things a bit better. even the Faunus herself has instances of high emotion, but does her best to remain a collected nature.

as she is around rather cheeky Huntsman in training, Blake won’t be surprised for your witty remarks – in fact, she may even respond to them with her own sarcastic comments. if there is an instance where she feels uncomfortable or wishes you to stop with the cheesiness, she will let you know, and should you persist, she will distance herself from you for the time being. Blake enjoys a good joke just as the next person, but not overbearingly so.

Blake would connect with you emotionally and on an art-loving level, as she also has a fondness for novels and literature in general. Her love for weapons isn’t as grand as others, but she would be interested in your knowledge about them. the Faunus is very curious in you as a person, and will do her best to show you so.

You hesitated, the words failing you as you watched the blade impale her skin and erupting a splash of blood from her mouth. You knew you were going to speak to her -- to have audience with Leader Khan herself -- but not this. Not to see her attacked, not to see her impaled. Not to see her killed. Your eyes were wide as you stood still, the faint sound of blood dripping onto the floor.

Drip.

Drip.

Drip.

You heard of his methods; you worked with The White Fang long enough to recognize his name. But for him to do this, to your revered Leader -- Sienna Khan herself -- left you frozen.

The bull removed his sword from her body in one slick motion, staring at her as she struggled to collect air and tumble in pain. Blood trickled from the corners of her mouth, her eyes boring into his as she collapsed onto the floor.

This wasn't a figment of your imagination.

Your eyes watched as the brown-skilled Bengal herself rolled down the stairs and hit the floor harshly, a still Hazel narrowing his eyes from her corpse, to Adam. You couldn't take your eyes off of her, your Leader, lying on her throne floor with a callous Adam watching in pride and amusement.

"Wh-"

"Don't you see? Sienna Kahn will become a martyr for our people."

"From this point on, I will lead The White Fang."

"And we will remove any, and all liabilities for our goal to reign supreme."

The crimson-haired bull chuckled, looking from the hazel-eyed brute to a frozen you. Chills traveled down your spine as he held his hand out, if not just to you, then the entire room, with a large grin.

A nefarious glow surrounded him, an energy so uncomfortable it caused you to step backwards and made your heart feel as though it was going to burst out of your chest. Hello, I’ve recently had a really rough time with a bad breakup followed closely by family troubles and losing my job and was wondering if maybe you could write a short fic with Qrow comforting his crush or S/O after a similar events? I’d imagine he’d be a little awkward, but he’d genuinely try, and I feel like it’d be nice to just hug the drunkle (and maybe have a good cry hidden away in his chest).

i do apologize this took so long to get to. if you need someone to talk to, don’t hesitate to message me. this goes for everyone. times are very difficult and i hope, even if not just through writing, i’ll be able to support you through this rough patch! stay strong.

SILENCE

The rain always made things gloomier, and with the heavy weight that continued to build, it didn’t make your mood any better. As you watched the rain droplets hit against the glass and slowly trail down your window, you sniffed, ignoring the soreness of both your eyes and nose. You looked to your faint reflection through the window, looking at the redness of your sclera and circles underneath your eyes.

It was too recurring, the constant grief that filled you. The conflicted thoughts that loitered in your mind, shifting from temple to temple, drew out more inner pain and it exhausted you. Why was it always when you were least expecting it? Why was it always when you were trying your hardest? Were you not good enough? Were you just making a big scene? Were there steps you needed to take but didn’t see?

As you sat silently on your bed with your knees pulled to your chest, you couldn’t make anything of it. How pathetic you must’ve looked, sitting in the dim light of your room as it poured down raining. By this point, feigning any and all smiles were null and void. Exhaling deeply, you felt the water form at the corners of your eyes, but your face did not visibly release your physical sadness.

If you had performed better, they told you, you would still have it. If you paid more attention to the marks of tardiness that affected your attendance. If you “toughed it through” and didn’t let your anxiety get the best of you, causing you to call off so often. You promised us an outstanding employee, and you failed to meet your promise to us. Things happen, right? It’s not that you didn’t try, just…

Wait. 

Maybe they were right – especially your family. The constant fighting and unhealthy passive-aggressive nature of your parents, less than approving of your shortcomings – and now your termination – made them think less of you. “Home” was more of a foreign land for you now, and the years of complications made the lump in your throat appear even bigger. You rubbed your temples, murmuring something to yourself incoherently as you felt the rush of anxiety take hold of you.

It squeezed you, the clasp most heavy on your heart and around your throat, causing you to shake. The one thing – the one that did tie you together, and help you – One of the most dreadful hits to your heart that happened ontop of it all – losing the one you cared about the most. Not being able to see their smile, having them here, when you needed them most. You did something, you knew it, and they wanted to separate. Nothing to do with you. It just kept building. One thing, after the next, after the next, after the next.

It hurt, it hurt, it hurt, it hurt, it hurt…

“Hey,” a deep, gruff voice snapped you out of your spiraling, and you almost immediately lifted your head. Your swollen eyes looked frantically around the room before you landed them on a raven-haired figure, leaning distance from you against the wall.

“Oh,” you uttered, blinking. “Qrow… I didn’t–” You exhaled and relaxed your posture, straightening your back. He narrowed his eyes, a slightly embarrassed you laughing nervously. “Sorry, I promise I’m not–”

“You weren’t at the mission briefing today.” He interrupted you from your would-be lie, eyes never left yours. “Figured you’d be here.”

You lifted your hand, as if you were going to make a point to the former teacher, but sighed, knowing it was useless. You lowered your arm, focusing your eyes elsewhere. While you were not going to discuss everything to the scythe-wielder, you knew you couldn’t exactly walk your way around the Huntsman. He knew you too well, knew too many of your quirks. 

“Just a lot is going on, Qrow.” Your statement was vague, and it prompted the male to cross his arms tightly against his chest. “I… Sorry.”

He walked towards you, the sounds of his shoes clicking against the hardwood floor. While he was closer, he gave you breathing room. You both were on good terms with the other, but never really had… this sort of conversation. Ever. Qrow was never the type to display his emotions so outwardly – deeper ones, at least – and drowned himself in booze whenever he could. 

“Look, I’m not gonna get all sappy, and I see you’re going through… Something.” Qrow hesitated. “I’m worried because you’ve been doing this more and more. And I need to know if you’d rather just–”

“I’m sorry, Qrow, I’m just going through something and it’s not going well and I can’t exactly be around people right now and–” you found yourself rambling and looked away from him as you felt the wave of tears come once more, affecting your voice slightly. “I didn’t even hear you come in. Sorry I’m like this. I’m fine, just, I’ll… I’ll talk to you later.”

There was a tension in the silence that followed. So much so that Qrow felt the need to exhale loudly, drawing your attention. He rolled his eyes, sitting next to you and clearing his throat. Arching an eyebrow, you looked to him quizzically and watched as he took out his canteen. Expecting him to drink from it, you waited, and were surprised as he simply took the cap off.

“I don’t know… All of what you’re going through.” He began. “But I can tell you that you’ll get through it. Can’t give up on yourself. You’ll end up like me.”

You shoved his shoulder playfully, laughing. “You say that as though that’s a bad thing. Hush up.” 

Hardened, crimson irises met yours and the Huntsman remained silent. The look he had, a solemn one, made you anxious so you created more space between the two of you. Just from that he chuckled, and you held your arm. “You must apparently think highly of me to say that.”

His cheeky remark made your cheeks warm and you shoved him again, “Be quiet, I…”

You withdrew into yourself again, unsure as to why your emotions were all over the place. Qrow caught note of this, studying his rings before speaking. “I can’t speak for you, and I don’t know all the ins and outs. We’re close, but.. Y’know. You want your privacy, and I get that.” He listened as it thundered loudly, a crack of lightning piercing the sky faster than you could turn your head to turn to see it. “Shit, even I got crap I need ta deal with.”

It made you jump, feeling his hand suddenly on your shoulder. The male Branwen didn’t meet your gaze at that moment and instead looked out of your bedroom room, continuing. “It hurts, I know it. It’ll hurt like hell. But this’ll make it easier for you to get stronger. To bounce back.” He glanced down to the brown liquid within his silver canteen. His voice became quieter, but more stern. 

“And I’ll be here for you when you need it.”

If I may get a female match? I've got pretty bad chronic insomnia and I tend to do my best to watch everyone if I find myself in a group otherwise I like to blend in with the background. I like reading, writing, archery, and listening to music. I'm also 5'9" and I have the awful tendency to accidentally sneak up on people. I'm also fairly "robotic". (Anyone except Ruby) thanks! Yang will help with your chronic insomnia as best she can, as she knows sleep is incredibly important for one’s well-being. at the same time, she will not perform any methods that are uncomfortable for you, and work as well she can to get you to sleep or find healthy ways to accommodate for your lost hours of sleeping. 

as she has multiple hobbies she enjoys indulge, she’d find your love of music and archery incredibly endearing, prompting you to test your archery (in training, if you play the sport) or listen to how you discovered an affinity for it. likewise, she would eagerly want to learn your favourite genres of music, but also challenge you to open your ears to other genres. taking the time off and enjoy your favourite artists would be a peaceful time.

as someone who is a bit of a jokester herself, she can understand sneaking up on people sometimes, both intentionally and unintentionally. because Yang is a more direct person and prefers face-to-face interaction as opposed to stealthier methods, but would find humour if she watched you sneak up on someone and they shriek because of it.

if you leave yourself to the mundane or have a relatively established schedule, Yang would see that you would break that habit; not to be disruptive, but to leave the element of surprise possible in your life. she’d want for you to have a vibrant life, and make sure you don’t lose yourself in the same cycle you repeat on a daily.

Yang is a passionate lover, and would not stand to see you be a person to shrink away or for others to clump you with the rest of the crowd. you are unique, and someone she can connect with physically and emotionally. she appreciates that you like to observe others – to keep yourself slightly distant – but she also finds it important that you show yourself off and enjoy yourself when you can.
