It's funny, one moment I'm myself and the next "Thinking About You" starts playing and suddenly I'm Remus Lupin in a modern + band au, sitting in my and Sirius's apartment (it's only mine now, I just refuse to accept that) after Sirius became famous and was forced to break up with me, writing a song I cannot help but imagine him perform, still bitter and heartbroken (I don't know that we'll get back together in a few chapters)

Ship dynamic

I love ships where they're both bad people. Like, toxic assholes who love each other so much there's got to be a little hate, a little resentment for the other person for making them vulnerable, too. And it's not that they trust each other, not really – or is it trust if you see the knife and choose to turn your back to it nevertheless, hoping that if you must be betrayed, it will at least be by the hand of someone you'd die for anyway?

I don't know, there's just something about both of them being equally terrible people while they're fully aware of it and honestly kind of like it.

I have to talk about this because I cannot stand ignoring the thought any longer. "Only Mostly Devastated" by Sophie Gonzalez is practically the (very elaborate) novel version of "In A Heartbeat", the short film by Beth David and Esteban Bravo. Almost everything about it fits perfectly, from the storyline to the characters' appearances. I don't know if this is, like, common knowledge and I'm basically just stating the obvious, but for some reason I've never seen this idea before.
