My mom calling me just to insult me and yell at me over the phone is… not great, but somewhat expected given the kind of person she is.

The ‘funny’ part is that when I asked her to lower her voice and she ignored me, I asked her “can you hear me?” repeatedly, and she promptly hung up. I guess getting called out for her time wasn’t so pleasant for her 🤡

And to think the conversation could’ve been civil… *sigh*

Bit of a stream of consciousness today

Do not use your eldest child as a trial and error or a dumping ground. Do NOT project your insecurities onto said child. And most importantly, LISTEN to them.

How do you have the balls to say “I know my child, they wouldn’t do/want this”, when you don’t even know their favorite color, or favorite food. How do you find it in yourself to openly say “I know this person, they’re my child” when you don’t even know who their favorite artist is? Their hobbies?

Every day I’m more and more baffled by people’s behavior and emotional ignorance. No one is obligated to listen to you. NO ONE. And that includes your children or grandchildren. Do not force people into conversations (or anything else, for that matter). Do not back them into a corner. You don’t back an animal into a corner, why do you do it to your children?

Your eldest child is hurting, for fuck’s sake. Listen to them. Home should be a safe space. Not somewhere you have to watch your every move to avoid missing out on dinner, or avoid being denied something small like some new lotion.

No one should have to walk on eggshells in their own home.

One of the things I absolutely despise about being fem-presenting or appearing feminine in public is SMILES.

Like- no, dude, I won’t smile back, even though I looked at you like a deer in headlights. I’m trying to catch my train, not an STD.

I don’t understand WHY public transport services are absolute steaming TRASH. Like- explain to me why you’ve established a routine that you’ve kept for more than a decade and one year you decide to change it. I HAD A BUS EVERY HOUR- WHY MUST I NOW WAIT 1h30 TO TRAVEL 45 MINUTES

I WANT TO GO HOME.

No complaint is ever considered, no petitions ever work, nothing will ever budge the absolute f*ckin BOULDER that is public transport services.

Disservice is so deeply rooted in this sector that I have a feeling it’s only going to get worse.

I wish there was a way to strike as a client without getting fines, because I sincerely cannot stand public transport strikes when the service is poor.
