Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - Series 4, Episodes 7 & 8 (The Review)
So these next to episodes finish off the mini series, or sub series, within series 4 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
The team have to go and stop Eli from unleashing terror on the world, but as they do that Reyes, Coulson, and Fitz gets trapped within a different world where they are 'ghosts'. They can see and hear the rest of the time, but they cannot be seen or heard themselves. The team then use Aida (a robot built using AI) to read the book that frees them. However, Aida is a bit loco and has one of the team trapped unconscious, but the team do not know as they are an AI.
I enjoyed these episodes, and I feel that they are building up to something much bigger later on in the series, but before we watch the rest of series 4, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D - Slingshot is next on our list!

Black Panther (2018) - The Review
Hello all again and welcome back to another review of the MCU! In this short but sweet blog post, I'll be looking at Black Panther.
This film was released back in 2018 and focuses on T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman - R.I.P. - Thurgood Marshall in Marshall) who is king of Wakanda and has to protect it from his cousin, N'Jadaka/Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan - Donnie Creed in Creed). We also have Shuri (Letitia Wright - Reb in Ready Player One), T'Challa's sister, Everett Ross (Martin Freeman - Dr. Watson in the BBC Series, Sherlock) who is a CIA agent and Zuri (Forest Whitaker - Saw Gruella - Rogue One), one of the Wakanda elders. There are many more famous faces in this film, but if I was to list them we would be here all night!
The film had been in production since July 1997, when it was added to the Marvel film slate, back when Blade was being made. However, it officially started pre-production in 2016. Filming mainly happened at Pinewood Atlanta, however, they did also film on location in Africa. The soundtrack is by Ludwig Goransson (Marley & Me and Creed).
I love the film, as it was a good storyline and kept me watching. Shuri is definitely my favourite character as she gets excited when explaining her tech to others. As normal, here is a GIF for Black Panther, and my post is for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Series 4 - Episodes 7&8.

Doctor Strange (2016) - The Review
Welcome back to another blog post, where today we are reviewing Doctor Strange!
Doctor Strange is about a surgeon named Stephen Strange (played by Benedict Cumberbatch - Sherlock Holmes in the BBC series, Sherlock) who becomes injured in a car accident and turns into a sorcerer under the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton - White Witch in the Chronicles of Narnia). Strange is put under the guidance of Wong (Benedict Wong - Bruce Ng in the Martian) and Mordo (Chiwetel Ejjiofor - Scar in the Lion King remake). We also have Kaecilius (Mads Mikkelsen - Chick Hicks in Cars), the villain who wants to unleash an ultimate power and Christine Palmer (Rachel McAdams - Regina George in Mean Girls) as Strange's love interest/friend.
Released in 2016, the film has a runtime of 1 hour and 55 minutes. The music is by Michael Giacchino, who composed the Rogue One soundtrack and the Medal of Honor soundtrack. The film is directed by Scott Derrickson (Directed the Sinister films). Overall, this film was brilliant, with the cape being one of my favourite characters. However, I am going to be honest and say that Doctor Strange is my least favourite hero. Don't get me wrong, Benedict Cumberbatch portrayed the character well, but I found Strange's character to be a bit too pompous and vain.
Thanks for tuning in with this blog post, and my next film/tv show is Black Panther so stay tuned for that post!

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D- Series 4, Episodes 1-6 (The Review)
So I finally got round to starting the next lot of my Marvel Movie and TV show marathon, with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Series 4 and the first 6 episodes. Sorry about the delay, I've got all of my uni deadlines soon, so I've been focusing on them, but nonetheless let's jump into the review!
The first six episodes of series 4 focus on Ghost Rider, a sort of antihero who is trying to avenge his disabled brother by locating the people who put him into a wheelchair. As well as that, the S.H.I.E.L.D team are trying to locate some ghosts who want to use dark matter for themselves, but hit a snag when it involves Eli, the uncle of the Ghost Rider.
In my personal opinion, I love these episodes as it sets up S.H.I.E.L.D for future seasons perfectly. We are also introduced to Director Mace who has a hatred, if you want to call it that, for inhumans and recruits Simmons into helping lead his inhumans science team. We end episode 6 with dark matter being shown and successfully created, but I won't say more than that.
Stay tuned for the next blog post which will be Doctor Strange, the next in our MCU mega challenge!

The Defenders (The Review)
Hello all, and welcome back to another blog post on the MCU! This afternoon/evening I finished the Defenders on Netflix which means that I can move forward with my MCU challenge.
The Defenders features Matt Murdock (Daredevil), Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Danny Rand (Iron Fist) teaming up to fight The Hand to try and destroy them overall. This series also reunites us with Claire Temple, Misty Knight, Trish Walker, Foggy Nelson, Karen Page and Colleen Wing. The main series, which only ran for 1 series, is set mainly in Hell’s Kitchen but also goes across Harlem and other parts of NYC.
It’s hard not to reveal too much about the series without giving away a lot of spoilers, but it is worth watching the series if you like the Marvel Netflix shows. I enjoyed seeing all of the characters attempting to work together, as well as Claire acknowledging that she is linked to all of them (in which I feel bad for her getting dragged into these).
That’s all for this short but sweet post, I hope you enjoyed it. Next is Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Series 4, Episodes 1-6.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Series 3 Episodes 20-22 (The Review)
So, you’re back again for another MCU review ay? If you are still following from when I started these reviews, you’ll know I started them a whole year ago! Anyway, let’s go back into the reviews as we finish off series 3 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
These episodes pick up after the events of Captain America: Civil War where the team at S.H.I.E.L.D are trying to stop a virus that alters the DNA of humans into inhumans. This series finale has a major tearjerker involving two major characters (who shall remain nameless) as well as introducing Dr Ratcliffe (portrayed by John Hannah - he’s in The Mummy as Jonathan).
I enjoyed series 3 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, as I have with the other series, as all of the characters have been relatable and I have empathised with them every step of the way. I hope you’re enjoying joining my journey, and it continues with The Defenders!

Captain America: Civil War (2016) - The Review
I’m on a Marvel binging session at the moment and I watched Captain America: Civil War for the first time and the fact that it was next on my list. Let’s dive into the review.
Captain America: Civil War is about a rift between Tony Stark and Steve Rogers about Bucky Barnes. As normal, I do not want to give away any spoilers so this post may be short. We are introduced to the characters of Peter Parker (Tom Holland), T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) and Zemo (I cannot remember the actor’s name). The rift causes both Stark and Rogers to have an almighty battle in an airport which involves most of the Avengers.
This film is a true Marvel film, but sticks to the themes of Avengers instead of solely focusing on Captain America. The film runs for 2 hours and 28 minutes, but it is worth it. We also see how various people are introduced to the Avengers such as Peter. I know this post was short, but it is so hard not to spoil anything. The next post will be for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Series 3, Episodes 20-22.

Iron Fist - Series 1 (The Review)
Aloha again and welcome back to another blog post where today we are reviewing Iron Fist, that I managed to finish yesterday. I’m not going to lie - this series was extremely hard for me to find interesting, but nonetheless I still watched it.
Iron Fist is about a guy called Danny Rand who is supposedly dead coming back to America and trying to find answers to his parents deaths. Danny reunites with Joy and Ward Meachum who were his childhood friends, but they don’t believe it is Danny coming back. We are also introduced to Colleen, a dojo owner who becomes Danny’s closest ally. We are also reintroduced to Madame Gao and Claire Temple (who I feel sorry for as she’s always dragged into these things). The Hand also features majorly in this series, linking them to the events in Daredevil as well.
This review is going to be short as I did not find this too interesting, but I did enjoy all of the martial arts theming. I am interested though to see all of the the characters from the Netflix shows together for the Defenders. However, we will have to wait as my next item to watch is Captain America: Civil War.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D: Series 3, Episodes 1-19 (The Review)
It's been a while since I've done a review (my bad, I'm sorry) but at last, here's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Series 3, Episodes 1-19 review!
Series 3 kicks off with Fitz struggling to cope with losing Simmons as well as Daisy/Sky trying to find new Inhumans to help fight Hydra and to keep the Inhumans safe. However, there are people trying to kill the inhumans as well as another team trying to cure the inhumans.
As the series progresses, we are reunited with Simmons and lose Hunter and Bobby. This series has lots of twists and turns that keeps us viewers on the edge of our seats, as well as the return of Grant Ward (again).
I thoroughly enjoyed this series and cannot wait for the last few episodes, but the next post will be on Iron Fist Series 1.

Ant-Man (2015) - The Review
I know it's late but I finished off Ant-Man, so I thought that I'd get a start on the next part of our MCU journey and also review Ant-Man. Let's shrink in!
Ant-Man, released in 2015, is about a criminal Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) being released from jail and joining forces with Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and his daughter Hope (Evangeline Lily) in becoming Ant-Man and gaining the Yellowjacket from Darren Cross (Corey Stroll).
The film runs for 1 h and 58 mins, and we also meet Scott's ex-wife, her new husband and Scott's daughter Cassie. There are also cameos by Howard Stark, Falcon (or Sam Wilson), and of course Peggy Carter (my absolute favourite).
Overall, I enjoyed Ant-Man as I thought that it was a good light hearted Marvel film, and it was nice to watch in the middle of all the TV shows. Next up on my watchlist is Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Series 3 Episodes 1-19. This means my next post won't be for a while, so I leave you with a GIF while I start the next item.

Luke Cage, Series 1 Episodes 9 - 13 (The Review)
At last I have finished Luke Cage and my oh my was it good. The episodes basically are Luke, Claire and Misty (who has now seen that Luke is all innocent) are teaming up with councilwoman Dillard to try and find/beat Diamondback.
Without spoiling too much, there is a lot of good moments in the episodes and references to both the Avengers and Daredevil. There is so much action in these episodes along with more flashback episodes that explain Luke's backstory in more detail.
I thoroughly enjoyed these episodes and it is hard to not to spoil much in the episodes, so you'll have to watch the episodes yourselves. Next up on my list is Antman, so stay tuned!

The Imitation Game (2014) - The Review
So as a little side thing, I decided to watch The Imitation Game, released in 2014. This is a film that I've wanted to watch for ages based on Alan Turing's Enigma machine. So let's delve into things!
If you don't know, Alan Turing is a famous mathematician and cryptographic that was hired by MI6 to crack the German's Enigma machine. The Enigma machine is what the Germans use to send encoded messages about their attacks to each other. Turing alongside a bunch of other mathematicians work out how to crack the code.
The film flicks between 3 different times. 1928 is where we see young Alan (played by the lead in End of the F*cking World) and his schoolfriend Christopher. Then we have 1939-44 where we see Alan along with his colleagues trying to crack the code. Finally, we have 1951 where we see Alan being questioned by police for questionable things.
The cast is star studded with Benedict Cumberbatch playing Alan Turing and we even have Keira Knightley in the film as Joan Clarke. The soundtrack is by Alexandre Displat, who composed the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Parts 1&2 soundtracks.
Overall, the film lasts for 1 hour and 54 minutes. If you're a bit like me and interested in the Enigma machine and the story behind it, then the film is worth a watch.
Hope you enjoyed that and I'll be back with another MCU review next!

Daredevil, Series 2, Episodes 12 & 13 (The Review)
So, we're back at it with another review. I hope that you're enjoying reading these as much as I am writing them, and of course watching them. Let's dive into it!
These two episodes made the last two episodes of the series, which made them even more exciting. There are a couple of character deaths (one somewhat major) as well as a lot more blood and guts. I will try to review this without spoiling much, but one thing does happen which involves Karen. This causes Matt to go into panic and even have Elektra helping him.
Overall, I think series 2 was a good series for Daredevil as there were some guest appearances from people like Claire Temple and Wilson Fisk. However, I do think that the story was a bit slow to get into and I was getting bored in some parts of the series. I am intrigued to see what series 3 has in stock for us. But we'll have to wait and see as our next watch takes us back to Harlem and Luke Cage, for the rest of series 1!

Luke Cage, Series 1, Episodes 5 - 8 (The Review)
Here we go again with another blog post on the MCU challenge. Today I finished Luke Cage, Series 1 Episodes 5-8 and it was one wild ride, so let's dive in!
Episode 5 picks up after Episode 11 of Daredevil's Series 2, as (spoiler alert) Claire Temple leaves Hell's Kitchen to go back to her home of Harlem. There she is reunited with Luke Cage who shows his powers off to the press and everyone knows about him. There the series goes and explores Stoke's empire and the corruption of Harlem. There is also a bullet that could potentially kill Luke called the Judas bullet, but you'll have to watch the episodes to see if it does kill him.
I am enjoying Luke Cage as it explores how Claire (after hating helping heroes due to her numerous run ins with Matt Murdock) wants to help Luke. There is also Misty Knight, a detective who is now starting to believe Luke is innocent in all of the incidents that are happening, but it is taking a while to actually see that. I am excited to see what the rest of the series holds.
That's all for this short but sweet blog post, but next is the last few episodes of Daredevil Series 2, so stay tuned!

Daredevil, Series 2, Episodes 5-11 (The Review)
Hello again guys and gals to another review of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After a couple of days of bad Wi-Fi and binging on Daredevil and other shows, I have finally finished some more of Daredevil, so let's jump into the review!
The episodes mainly focus on the court case of Frank Castle, or as we know him The Punisher, being represented by Matt Murdock (Daredevil), Foggy Nelson and Karen Page. However, it turns out that most of the New York and Hell's Kitchen authorities are corrupt officials who do are being led by someone called "The Blacksmith". We also meet Matt's ex-girlfriend Elektra and Stick makes another appearance.
I am going to be honest, I'm finding it hard to get into this series, as it seems to be going at a slower pace than series 1. Nonetheless, it is still good and I love how Jon Bernthal is portraying The Punisher, as he adds some comedic aspect to a normally serious role. I was struggling to remember where I had seen him before, before it hit. He was Shane in the Walking Dead (Rick's best friend).
That's all for this short but sweet blogpost and I hope you enjoyed it. Stay tuned for Luke Cage, Series 1, Episodes 5-8's review.

Luke Cage, Series 1, Episodes 1 - 4 (The Review)
Here we go again watching more of the MCU. This time, we delve into the world of Luke Cage on Netflix. Buckle up for this rollercoaster of a TV show.
Luke Cage (rated 18) is about an inhuman named Luke Cage, who has super strength and the ability to not get hurt or killed. If the name Luke Cage rings a bell, we've already met him if you watched Jessica Jones (S1). We also meet a guy named Mr. Stokes who runs Harlem, where the show is set.
While watching this show I had numerous thoughts. One of which being that there is a lot of blood and gore. If you're like me and do not like that sort of thing, this is not for you. However, I just did what I normally did and looked away. Also, the show (like Jessica Jones) is a bit raunchy in places, which I admittedly skipped over those parts.
What I did like about the show was the backstory to Luke Cage and how he became what he is. Also, the title screen is very similar to that of both Jessica Jones and Daredevil, which shows they are definitely part of the same universe.
That sums up this short but sweet post, so stay tuned for the next part which is Daredevil, Series 2, Episodes 5-11.

Daredevil - Series 2, Episodes 1 - 4 (The Review)
So, we are starting series 2 of Daredevil (finally!) and wow this is amazing. This series picks up where Series 1 left off, or a couple of months after and is about the aftermath of Wilson Fisk's arrest. If you have no idea who Fisk is, watch Series 1 of Daredevil as it introduces you to his character.
Hell's Kitchen has gotten into a mess with a bunch of new bad guys running the place, namely an Irish gang (I think). There is also a biker gang who runs part of the Kitchen and everyone wants to be the big boss now Fisk is out of the picture.
We see the return of Matt Murdock, Foggy Nelson, and Karen Page, as well as nurse, Claire Temple. We also see the MCU debut of The Punisher, who seems to hate Daredevil (or Matt) as he has opposing ideas on how to handle the bad guys.
The first 4 episodes were amazing and I cannot wait to finish Series 2, but for now we continue on with our MCU journey and watch Luke Cage, Series 1 Episodes 1 - 4.

Sadie
