I'm about to piss off the ENTIRE TLOU fandom but I'm SO past the point of caring. Bella Ramsey is a more accurate portrayal of a 19 year old not only in their mannerisms but THEIR LOOKS.

"They don't look mature enough" that's because Ashley Johnson was in her mid 30's playing a 19 year old, and in the game, Ellie's face Especially still carries that. AFAB people Especially don't magically change their facial structure from 14-19 unless they had work done. you don't start seeing that happen till your mid-late 20's.

You don't look OR act like "a mature adult" when you're 19, it just doesn't happen. so expecting this (even from a fictional character) is still rather bizzar to me. and saying shit like "she's being too goofy" here when we've gotten basically No clips of her after she loses Joel is also a null in void argument. Even in the game before she loses Joel, Ellie's particularly monotone; but if they're going about this the way i think they're going to, then the stark contrast between her being goofy and the unbridled rage would actually be an Improvement from the game.

and I straight up can't tell if it's been That long since people have played TLOU2, or if they're just being Purposefully obtuse because of their hate boner for Bella as to why they're acting like Ellie's mad at Joel for no reason whatsoever (this isn't towards people who haven't touched the games and don't know the story, this is towards people who know and are still whining like little crybabies about everything)

"Should have recasted like in HOD" so THAT doesn't work either because for Rhaenyra they're going from 15 to like 32. from a teen to an ACTUAL adult, not a Young adult. 5 and 15 years apart are Very Much not the same thing here.

Putting all the confirmation Silco canoncially genuinely loves Jinx as his daughter in one place since some people still can't put 2 and 2 together after watching him choose Jinx over Zaun, admit he understands Vander now, and use his last words to comfort her.

He literally says "It all makes sense now, brother. Is there anything so undoing as a DAUGHTER" at Vander's statue, where he is all alone with zero reason to lie. If he doesn't see her as a daughter he wouldn't say that.

Also not only does he keep the ashtray jinx drew on with him along with the other trinkets she gave him, he always keeps the side that says "DAD" facing him 🥺

"How could Vi not notice her sister is suicidal?!"

I feel like people who ask this question have a fundamentally immature understanding of depression and suicidal thoughts/actions, and how the two affect people OUTSIDE of the person suffering from these conditions. Perhaps you guys are young, and you don't know how to view this matter outside of yourselves and your own perception, but it is tragically common for people to miss seemingly "obvious" details that lead up to a loved one's suicide. "I didn't notice anything was wrong" is about one of the most common refrains you'll hear after the fact.

Let’s also remember that Vi does not actually know all of Jinx's emotional tells or signs of an impending episode. She is confused each and every time Jinx goes through one and almost always unintentionally triggers her. This because it's been SEVEN FUCKING YEARS since they've seen, spoken to, or lived together.

Neither Jinx or Vi actually know the current versions of each other very well, it's one of the reasons they keep hurting each other, and part of the tragedy of their relationship.

Look, I have depression. I've had it since I was about 15 or so. I can recall self-isolating or worse and assuming my parents or friends or a teacher would notice and rush to my aid or something.

Never happened. Because depression isn't always a very obvious condition. People mask in different ways, and not always with the conscious intention to hide their symptoms. Sometimes, people with depression mask simply because it makes it slightly easier to get through the day. Jinx's case would likely be even more difficult to spot because of the manic side of her condition.

I ended up getting the bulk of my care taken care of as an adult. Mostly because I could finally advocate for myself and I also realized that NO ONE is going to notice the more alarming symptoms of my own depression better than me.

This is not to say that you can't have a support network. Or that members of that support network WON'T spot something you've overlooked from time-to-time.

But Vi is not Jinx's support network. (Arguably Sevika is far better placed for that.) She might have gotten there eventually if Act 2 hadn't ended the way that it had, but that dream of the sisters being able to recreate their lost family was shattered and the progress they were making in getting to know each other halted at Jinx's realization that she needed to leave for Vi to move on.

I don't know, it's like some of you expect everyone in your lives or in other, unrelated media to have a 13 Reasons Why style reaction any time someone shows symptoms of suicidal thoughts or actions, or when one occurs. This is almost an absurd thing to expect out of anyone unfamiliar with what depression or suicidal thoughts actually look like. Like, if you're American, this idea that everyone everywhere is familiar with what a mental health crisis looks like is even more tragically farcical because we can't even admit that poor mental health is an aspect of mass shootings here as a society and culture.

And y'all expect the ex-con stuffed into a box since the age of 15 or so to be able to just instantly spot that her sister--again whose symptoms she's very obviously not familiar with--is going through a crisis event?

Like, damn, no one in this fandom is cut more slack than Jinx, and this entire criticism of Vi makes that more clear than any other. It's a position ironically devoid of any and all empathy, probably because y'all spent it all on Jinx, and assumes a sort of selfishness and coldness towards Vi that is in no way, shape, or form supported by canon.

It's honestly an argument that I dismiss entirely the moment a person attempts to make it. Largely because I am exhausted of how hypocritical this aspect of the famdom becomes towards Vi. Jinx's actions are a large part of the reason Vi sinks into alcoholism. She then proceeds to taunt Vi about it in the mines as if Vi's pain is nothing to her.

I NEVER hear anyone talk about that. It's almost always about how Vi should have done better. How Vi hurt Jinx. How Vi wasn't good enough.

It's some Grade A, Bonafide Bullshit™

Vi and Jinx were never going to ride off into the sunset together. If that is something you thought was going to happen and are now irrationally blaming Vi for because you're disappointed....? I don't know what to tell you. I personally thought it was pretty obvious that they were Doomed Siblings in this storyline and any potential, permanent reconciliation between them may happen in some far off sequel project or not at all.

Hey. Your brain needs to de-frag. Literally it needs you to sit there and space out.

If you want your memory or executive function to improve, stare out a window at the skyline or sidewalk or trees or birds on the electrical wires for like 20+ minutes per day. (With no other stimulation like a podcast or TV if you can manage but hey baby steps innit). If you're fortunate enough to have safe outside with any bits of nature, go stare closely at a 1 meter square of grass and trip out on the bugs and shapes of grasses and stuff.

I keep seeing people talk about how the Zaun and Piltover issue is unresolved. And I NEED you to hear this. This show is a tragedy.

This is not some YA where everything gets tied up in a bow. Or a fantasy that ends with the great and powerful evil being destroyed and now we need to build a new society based on good.

The ending is supposed to be unhappy. And I need people to understand this.

I understand if you don't like it. But I need you to stop saying it's unresolved. Bc it is. It just isn't resolved in a manor that you like.

And if you look at the definition this fits Arcane perfectly.

Almost every one of them made decisions that made things worse. Regardless of their intentions. Mel gives Jayce and Viktor the opportunity to create hextech. Jayce creates Hextech. And as a result to this, Viktor gets consumed by Hextech and tried to "save" everyone. Ekko follows Jayce and sets everyone on this path. Jinx tries to save her family and end up killing them. Vi is constantly trying to save everyone, and no matter how hard she tries she can't. Caitlyn tries to help Zaun and makes the right choice in not killing Jinx. But in doing so Piltover gets attacked and her mother dies.

Vi is a great example of this. She tries again and again, but each outcome is negative. And pretty much everytime is not because of her, it's because of everyone around her.

She tries to turn herself in. Benzo dies and Vander gets kidnapped. Tries to save Vander milo and claggor die. Tries to step away from powder to calm her rage, gets imprisoned and Powder gets taken in by Silco. Tries to go after Powder and let Caitlyn and Ekko go to Piltover, Jinx attacks the bridge in a rage. Gets caitlyn to safety powder blows herself up. Gets Jayce to infiltrate and take out a shimmer factory, jayce kills a kid. Stops caitlyn from hurting Jinx, council gets blown up. Stops Caitlyn from hurting Jinx, gets broken up with. Helps save her dad, dad loses himself after Jayce kills Viktor. Like poor girl. Is out here trying her best. And to no fault of her own, everything just keeps failing.

And those are just scratching the surface. This entire story is that Viktor quote "In our pursuit to do great, we failed to do good."

It's is everywhere.

Silco tries to free Zaun, but in doing so, he enslaves Zaun children and gets a large portion of the population addicted to Shimmer.

Hemeirdinger tried to create a city that valued science and progress and failed to see the corruption around him, which caused inequality.

Vander, in his pursuit to save the undercity, makes a deal with the sheriff. But in doing so, he doesn't help Zaun with any of their problems. All he is doing is keeping them safe.

Sorry, i feel like this was sporatic, and i don't know how to fix it. But this show was never about a happy ending. Or an ending where everything gets resolved to the satisfaction of the characters or the viewers. It is a tragedy. That is about these characters and the choices they make and the realistic ending.

And before you say it! Think about if it is actually realistic. And not an idealistic reality that you want.
