Episode 15: The End of Fate My Demon (2023 - 2024), dir. Kim Jang Han

𝐓𝐇𝐄  𝐁𝐋𝐀𝐃𝐄  𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐒  and  Jinu  lets  out  a  breath  that  he  didn’t  realize  that  he  was  holding;  his  chest  feeling  lighter  now,  rather  then  weighted  with  the  captured  air.  Good,  she’ll  listen—that’s  what  he  wanted.  But  he  had  to  be  careful  with  how  things  were  worded;  careful  of  his  intentions.  Part  of  him…wanted  to  help  her.  Help  her  stop  Gwi-ma,  help  her  end  this  entire  mess  but  he  couldn’t.  For  what  was  Jinu  if  not  greedy?  There  was  no  other  way  to  get  his  torment  to  stop;  his  guilt…Even  at  the  cost  of  her,  he  didn’t  have  much  of  a  choice.  He  would  play  her  like  a  fiddle.  Then,  he  would  toss  her.

There  was  no  other  choice.

“Huh?”

𝐁𝐄𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐄  𝐇𝐄  𝐂𝐀𝐍  𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐀𝐊,  Rumi’s  hand  grabs  his  own  and  starts  pulling  him  along,  Jinu’s  eyes  widen  as  he  tries  to  not  let  rip  on  his  feet  from  the  sudden  movement.  “H—Hey!  How  about  a  warning  next  time!?”  He  lets  her  drag  him  around  until  they  were  in  a  more  secluded  space,  far  too  close  to  each  other  for  comfort;  pink  dusting  cheeks  as  he  looks  down  at  her.  As  soon  as  Rumi  steps  back,  so  does  Jinu;  looking  away  and  coughing  into  one  hand  while  the  other  scratches  the  back  of  his  head  sheepishly,  dropping  to  his  side  and  into  his  jacket  pocket  with  the  other.

“Aren’t  you  supposed  to  be  smart?  I  thought  you  would  have  already  had  a  plan  lined  up—“  a  poor  choice  of  words—whoops.  There’s  a  shake  of  the  head,  black  locks  tousling  from  the  movement  before  he  steps  back  towards  her,  gaze  soft  as  he  keeps  it  on  her,  stopping  mere  inches  away  from  her.

“Let’s  just…talk,  first.  About  you.  How  you’re  feeling  about…”  Hand  moves  to  pry  a  bit  of  her  jacket  away  to  expose  her  patterns.  “This.  Let  someone  who  understands  how  you  feel  hear  what  you  have  to  say.  Then  we  can…Figure  something  out.”  And  then  he  would  coax  whatever  plan  out  of  her  along  with  the  information  she  was  going  to  feed  him—and  use  all  of  that  to  his  advantage  in  the  near  future.  Whether  the  wanted  to…or  not.

He  didn’t  have  a  choice.

𝐅𝐄𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐘...𝐇𝐄  𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐄𝐃  𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓.   At  least  she  kept  things  interesting!  Dark  gaze  flickers  from  her  blade  then  back  to  her  face,  brows  shifting  into  a  look  of  false  concern.  "Listen...You're  different.  You  can't  hear  him,  you  can't...be  influenced  by  him.  I  wish  I  could  have  that.  I  wish  I  didn't  have  to  hear  him  all  the  time,  or  do  things  like...this."  His  gaze  flickered  to  the  ground  below  them  as  his  hand  balled  into  a  fist,  nails  digging  crescents  in  the  flesh.

"I  want  to  stop  him  as  much  as  you  do,  believe  me.  If  it  were  that  easy,  I  would  have  done  it  hundreds  of  years  ago.  I've  told  you  that."

𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓  𝐖𝐀𝐒...partially  true.  But  it  didn't  matter,  did  it?  No,  of  course  not.  It  never  would.  Gwi-Ma  could  turn  those  memories  up  loud,  make  them  worse,  force  him  to  remember  his  pain,  his  guilt,  his  grief.  He  wanted  it  to  stop.  He  needed  it  to  stop.  And  despite  having  some  semblance  of  care  for  the  woman  in  front  of  him,  he  couldn't  lose  sight  of  his  goal.  He  needed  freedom  from  the  ghosts  that  haunted  him.  Freedom  from  the  monster  he  had  become.

𝐒𝐇𝐄  𝐓𝐀𝐊𝐄𝐒  𝐀  𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐏  𝐂𝐋𝐎𝐒𝐄𝐑  but  he  doesn't  move  this  time.  Instead,  he  just  looks  at  her;  gaze  tired  and  worn.  Four-Hundred  years  of  pain  and  grief  evident  within  them.  He  needed  to  pull  at  those  heart  strings.  He  needed  her  to  trust  him.  He  needed  to  destroy  these  girls  for  his  own  gain.

so  then  why  was  he  getting  attached?

"I  already  did.  I  want  to  talk  to  you.  About  your  patterns,  about  this  whole  thing.  I  want  to  help  you  as  best  as  I  can,  but...I  need  the  memories  to  stop.  And  if  you  kill  me,  Gwi-Ma  will  just  send  more  demons  to  go  after  you.  Is  that  what  you  want?  Something  worse?  I  just…Need  you  to  listen,  and  I'll  do  the  same.  I  don't  want  to  fight  you."

“Hey,  I  just  wanted  to  make  sure  I  got  the  day  right,  that’s  all!”

𝐇𝐎𝐖  𝐄𝐌𝐁𝐀𝐑𝐑𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐆.  A  little  too  eager?  No—he  just  wanted  to  make  sure  that  it  was  the  right  day,  the  right  time…What  was  wrong  with  that!?  Jinu  himself  had  so  much  going  on…He  technically  shouldn’t  have  been  entertaining  the  idea  of  going  out  on  a  date  with  anyone.  But  Haru…Haru  was  different,  sort  of.  It  was  a  lot  of  mixed  emotions—Jinu  was  developing  a  bit  of  an  attachment  to  the  guy  but…In  the  end,  a  soul  was  a  soul  and  a  meal  for  Gwi-Ma,  right?  Perhaps  he  was  up  here  too  long…Perhaps  his  humanity  wasn’t  completely  gone?  His  gaze  was  focused  on  all  of  the  imagery  on  the  walls  of  the  shop,  hands  nestled  into  pockets  and  shoulders  relaxed.

Maybe  he  was  also  a  little  oblivious  (  sorry  for  not  looking,  Haru.  )

“You  sure  you  don’t  need  help?”  He  spoke  but  when  he  went  to  look  at  Haru,  he  had  slipped  away,  and  Jinu  was  now  left  alone  in  the  room  with  his…dog.  Gaze  fluttered  over  to  Bonnie—dogs  always  acted  this  way  around  them  because  they  knew.  They  knew  he  wasn’t  right—they  knew  what  he  really  was,  and  that  he  could  be  dangerous.  Jinu  sighs,  hand  coming  out  of  his  pocket  to  rub  the  back  of  his  neck;  pulling  his  gaze  from  Bonnie  as  he  turned  to  go  look  at  something  else  while  Haru  took  his  time.

“…Relax.”  He  murmured  quietly.  “I  don’t  have  any  intention  on  hurting  him.”

“I  thought  you  said  you  were  going  to  be  free  this  afternoon?”

𝐃𝐈𝐃  𝐇𝐄  𝐆𝐄𝐓  𝐓𝐇𝐄  𝐃𝐀𝐘  𝐖𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐆?  were  400  years  finally  catching  up  to  him  and  rotting  his  mind  enough  that  he  was  starting  to  suffer  memory  loss?  If  so,  why  couldn’t  he  lose  the  memories  that  he  actually  wanted  to  forget?  His  hands  find  their  way  into  the  pockets  of  his  hoodie,  watching  Haru  carefully  before  his  gaze  lingered  around  the  room  instead..  Humans  these  days  were…strange;  willingly  wanting  to  mark  their  body  like  this,  and  for  what?  He  didn’t  really  understand  it.

“I  can  go,  if  you’re  too  busy.  Maybe  take  a  rain  check?”

𝐎𝐇,  𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐊  𝐆𝐎𝐃.  No  longer  did  he  have  to  have  this  awkward  conversation  due  to  a  slip  of  the  tongue.  How  embarrassing—Then  again,  he  wasn’t  necessarily  expecting…Her.  The  question  she  asks  lays  heavy  in  the  air  for  a  moment  before  he  nods  softly.

“…Yeah.  She  tries  to,  at  least.”  It’s  not  like  Rumi  had  a  lot  of  information  about  her  mother...Didn't  she  die  when  she  was  an  infant?  “I  think  she's  just  more  curious  about  you,  then  anything.  Speaking  of…aren't  you…dead?”

LOW ACTIVITY NOTICE.

hello everyone! This weekend, Friday-Sunday, I will be selling my art at a local convention. Starting tomorrow ( Wednesday Aug 6th ) I will be SUPER low activity across my blogs. I’ll be at my moms ( she drives me ) from August 6th-9th, back the evening of August 10th but probably exhausted lmao. Activity will hopefully pick back up on the 11th since I have the day off work.

I will try to get some stuff out tonight, I will also reblog this on all of my blogs. I’ll also be available on discord and wire! I will put by discord below. I will try to write during the weekend but…yeah I’ll be crazy busy. 😭

𝐈𝐓 𝐖𝐀𝐒𝐍’𝐓 𝐒𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐃 𝐎𝐅. But what else was he supposed to do in a situation such as his? Jinu was an opportunist—if he saw an opportunity that could benefit himself, he would take it over and over again. A creature of habit was he—He left his family for an opportunity. The opportunity to erase his memories of such guilt had appeared and he took that. Rumi, too, was an opportunity; though she had been giving him a lot more to think about than he had anticipated…it really made Jinu think about where he stood with his morality.

𝐈𝐓 𝐁𝐔𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐐𝐔𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐇𝐈𝐆𝐆𝐒 𝐀𝐒𝐊𝐒 strikes a chord within him. Was all of this worth it? Ever since he met that girl, spent his time with her, he had asked himself this question over and over again. Were his memories worth all of this? Was his GREED worth all of this…? But even so—in what world was this any of this guys business? Brow quirks upwards before furrowing softly; carding his fingers through his own hair.

“That’s…kinda personal, don’t you think?”
