Hoenn is full of water and great starter pokemon, but alas Sootopolis is only full of magikarp. Surely the strangers here for their last gym badge would let me keep my lunch money?

Found some time to quickly sketch this out for @modmad ‘s pokemon starter challenge :) mod if you see this I hope you know TPOH and Skip blew my mind when I read them (and still do) thanks for inspiring me to try and make my art more fun!

My dream starter would probably be a vulpix or lampent, but realistically? A pidove or magikarp, both of which are still fantastic pokemon! I went with magikarp because I recently found out the blind ol’ behemoth of a koi fish living in my grandma’s koi pond is still alive. It’s been hiding under some rocks for months.

Every other koi from my childhood has reached the end of their lifespan but not this old thing! That fish is older than me and I’m convinced it will outlive all of us. If it was a magikarp it would definitely be a gyarados by now.

The way Superman depicted complicit civilians is gonna stick with me.

Because usually when you have your villain, usually the civilians working for them are gonna be largely faceless or cowed. And then when the hero crashes the scene, only the armed goons are taken out while said civilians flee to remove any questions.

In here though, you can tell they all enjoy working for Luthor. The technicians in his hq have fun plugging in directions to Ultraman. And those in the base camp wear tropical shirts while listening to music and playing games on their downtime. Nobody is working with rigid confirmity nor are there moral reservations (the only objection shown was when his obsession almost got them killed).

So when Mr. Terrific arrived on the scene, it is actually fitting that he wiped out the workers alongside the armed goons.

Also the way Superman's fellow prisoners not only attempted to snitch on him but actually tried to out snitch each other deserves a whole other analysis.

Absolutely LOVE the fact that unlike most superhero movies, Superman didn’t do everything.

It was set up as “oh no Metropolis and Jarhanpur are in trouble! He needs to quickly finish one and then help the other!” But no. Instead he just called his friends and they stepped in where he couldn’t. Even at Metro, he had Mr. Terrific’s help.

This is not a one-god-army kinda Superman. This is a I-could-try-to-do-it-all-or-I-can-ask-others-to-step-in-when-needed and isn’t that the crux of humanity right now? All of us may not be able to go where the problems are happening but we can help those who are there. We can also face the problems happening in our neighbourhood with people who can’t be close but can help in whatever way they can.

Because, sure, Superman could do it all himself. But that inevitably leads to a Superman who is stretched too thin and getting increasingly weary. But having people he knows he can rely on? Well isn’t that the best power anyone can have…

Something about the Daily Planet taking Lex Luthor down because of the stereotypical ''dumb blond.''

Something about how Eve's personality wasn't just some cover up, she's really like that and yet she also knows she can just play off gathering extremely damning intel because everybody in her life — from the brilliant Lex Luthor to the men and women who work for him — just write her off as doing shallow and airheaded things because she's blond and a woman and the arm candy and she's taking selfies with typical Instagram poses.

Something about her sending those selfies to Jimmy as proof of everything, getting herself in trouble doing so, and he thinks she just mistakenly send them and their call got cut off because she "probably dropped her phone in the toilet or something" and not because she was disappeared like Lex Luthor's previous girlfriend, who was disappeared for being critical of him on her blog after they broke up.

Something about Lois taking a single look at those selfies and immediately noticing Eve's genius.

my friends and I have created a game we call Quipposting, where you play quiplash but you roll a wheel full of character archetypes, and whatever it lands on, you all answer as if you are like, a wizard or cowboy. This legitimately makes quiplash go from a fun enough game to an S+ tier absolute unabashed banger
