I would absolutely love to have a child. I feel like a failure as a partner and a woman because I don’t have children.

When I was little, I used to take them every. time. we. stayed. I'm not sure what I did with them, but my mom didn't realize that I was doing it until we were on a trip that involved us staying at multiple hotels over the course of the trip. She picked up my suitcase and was like "What do you even have in here? How did you carry this before?" I got a firm talking to about it when she found the 4 bibles just hanging out with my clothes.
When I found out that you were allowed to take them, years later as a teenager, I told her, and her response was "Well, yes, but not from every room you stay in," and honestly, she's right lol
if you're not familiar--it's pretty common in america (i don't know about elsewhere--i hope this is an american thing) for hotels to keep a bible in every hotel room. some will have a bible and a book of mormon. they're printed on really cheap paper and i'm pretty sure the hotels are paid to have them there but don't quote me on that

Apparently a fish-shaped bug-type. It doesn't even make sense, and they're the two types I least would want. I'm not mad, but I don't like it.

I might try this - I get so WEIRD about mixing fibers, though
Scrap Along 2025

So, I had this idea…
Scrap Along 2025 begins on Valentines Day and ends on the Ides of March (15 March). Start earlier or finish later, but make something with leftover yarn. You don’t have enough scraps for an entire project? Include what you do have!
Believe me, I’m all for buying new yarn, especially from indie dyers and welcoming yarn shops. Lots of it! Sometimes I just can’t. And besides, if I liked the yarn the first time I used it, I want to use every last inch and centimeter.
Please share what you make and the making of it with the tag #ScrapAlong2025. Tag the dyer who created it, the LYS where you bought it, the loved one who gave it to you.
Why? To put it mildly, we’re living in uncertain times that will likely get worse before they get better. For now, we piece together our lives as best we can. Many have been doing that all along. Like piecing together leftover yarn into something gorgeous, one of a kind, memorable. Like you.
All of the 2SLGBTQIA+ letters, the colors, the genders, the love, the ages. All of the yarn.
Be scrappy.

I tried to read Catch 22, but I really couldn't get into it - I got the point within the first chapter, and it really felt like I was just being hammered at after that. I've read Misery several times, and enjoyed it a great deal. I've never even HEARD of Giovanni's Room.

I have actually met a real wolf, and while he was very friendly, he did NOT try and lick the inside of my mouth. I chalk this up to the area being very people-y, which likely made him anxious, and him being much more interested in the pizza on the table nearby. I would for sure pet one again, however.
if youve never physically been in the presence of like, a real live wolf, and you probably wont get the chance to, heres some stuff about them you should know
a wolf’s fur is so unbelievably thick that you can get like, your whole hand into it while petting. and then you can keep going
wolves are a lot bigger than you think they are. think about how big you think a wolf is then just like double that
they dont really smell like dog but they DO smell and youre not going to be able to figure out if its a good smell or not
a wolf really wants to lick the inside of your mouth. he will not stop trying to lick the inside of your mouth at any cost, and generally speaking you need to press your lips together kind of tightly when he approaches your face so that he doesnt worm his damn tongue in there to give you what he thinks is an appropriate greeting
a wolf doesnt really want to look at you while you pet him but he wants you to pet him. hes embarrassed
if a grown ass wolf decides to lay down on you, you just have to deal with it and thats your life now
young wolves, much like young dogs, are overwhelmingly goofy and stupid. a teenage wolf will see your very fragile, very human shoulder and go “i can probably step on that with my full weight” and then he will do it
letting a wolf eat out of your hand is actually not remotely frightening, and youll want to do it all day

For a very long time (like, years), instead of doing a knit front-to-back, left-to-right, I was reverse-purling. That is, working yarn behind the piece, going into the back of the stitch right-to-left.
No one ever told me otherwise until I was like "back loop only? it's ALWAYS through the back loop" and then I realized perhaps I was the one who was wrong lol
I also used to crochet back loop only, which resulted in a very specific look to some of my older crocheted pieces. Again, it wasn't until I saw it in a pattern and became confused that I figured out "oh, I've been screwing it up this whole time".
Sometimes I see a photo of knitting and I start squinting at it like "are those stitches twisted? Those stitches are twisted. Do they know? Should I tell them? If they're a new self taught knitter maybe I should say something..." I don't want them to feel like strangers are knitpicking their hard work! But twisted stitches can affect a lot of stuff and some techniques or types of knitting like lace don't work properly with twisted stitches.
