Satogou Week 2024 Prompts

Surprise, it's here! ...I know I said I'd get it done earlier than this, but executive dysfunction, and stuff...

Anyway, here are the prompts, with accompanying quotes for further inspiration. Remember, this is for December 1 to 7, but delaying is fine!

Day 1) Motion / "I can calculate the motion of heavenly bodies, but not the madness of people." Day 2) Honor / "I promise to honor and respect you. To love you for who you are and the way you are." Day 3) Rivals / "No rival will steal away my sure love; that glory will be my gray hair." Day 4) Puzzle / "Pieces of a puzzle can be repositioned and moved, replaced and swapped out, but the puzzle will never be whole again." Day 5) Disaster / "Dread of disaster makes everybody act in the very way that increases the disaster." Day 6) Grief / "What is grief, if not love persevering?" Day 7) Eternity / "We are two odd, lonely children, reaching for eternity."

You are free to take inspiration from the prompts, the quotes, or... neither! Just be there! Make art or write, or edit something, anything goes!

And whether you make something during the actual week or have to postpone it due to life stuff (or had a bout of executive dysfunction like moi), make sure to tag your post with #satogouweek2024 so that I can share it here and signal boost it!

Poll's finished! Now, given the results, I'll have to think of seven new prompts for this week... hmm...

I'll try my best to come up with some, but please leave your suggestions here as well! Preferably ones that haven't been used before ^^

Satogou Week 2023

Hello, everyone! The Satogou Week tumblr is back again this year!

As you know, Satogou Week runs from December 1 to December 7th... buuut, don't worry if you run out of time and post later in the month! What's important is having fun as a community!

Prompts:

Day 1) Letter / "more than kisses, letters mingle souls." Day 2) Ghost / "The ghosts you chase, you never catch." Day 3) Rainbow / "the greater your storm, the brighter your rainbow." Day 4) Birthday / "Count your age by friends, not years. Count your life by smiles, not tears." Day 5) Double date / "Here's to love and friendship, all on one date night." Heya heya!

Who would be interested in participating in a SatoGou Big Bang?

For those who are curious, big bangs (or bang for short) are fandom events where artists and writers collaborate to release a "big bang" of content all at once!

My day 4 satogou piece will be late due to spending time with my family <3! I'll try and post it tomorrow!! in the mean time, have this little drabble.

"You don't like Koharu's fairytale book?" Satoshi asked, gesturing towards the book left on the table. Goh glared at the offending novel. "What's the point of fairytales like that? They're not real." Satoshi raised an eyebrow. "They're fantasy, aren't they?" "No, I mean... the love isn't real, Satoshi. Fairytale love, love like that... it doesn't exist." Satoshi stared blankly at him. "You... you don't think love is real?" Goh stared back. "Well..." Satoshi stepped forward, grabbing Goh's hands in his own. "Of course love is real, Goh!" Goh looked at him, gaze almost daring. "Oh really?" "Here's how I know, Goh." Satoshi pulled Goh towards him, they both stumbled slightly. "Love is real. Love is when you listen to me talk for hours and hours and love is when you hold my backpack for me and when I bring you lunch and every millimeter wider my smile grows when you’re near and the way you laugh when we get caught in the rain and how you fall asleep to my snoring." Satoshi kept rambling, on and on, until he ran out of breath. Inhaling deeply, he locked eyes with Goh. "Love is real because I can’t think of any other word that fits how I feel about you better.” Goh stared back. "You... love me?" Satoshi smiled. "Of course!"
