Haven’t done one of these in awhile. In my neverending search for quality food I even scour the biggest grocery culprits of unhealthy bulk food for profit retailers. So, Wal Mart.

Carefully hidden in the baking goods isle, I discovered a whole array of health food products. First find - Livfit Superfood Protein Blend, organic, 30 day supply for under $15. That’s 50 cents a day people. Not bad. The brand Badia has gone organic and offers flax seed meal, 16 Oz for $3.48, a sample hulled Hemp Seeds packet $1.24 with other products and sizes available. And Better Body Foods offers bulk as well as sample packets of peanut butter powder which was recently tested and featured on The Dr.s show as being a 90% less fat version of regular peanut butter. I personally think peanut butter fat is a good fat, but I do like the idea of a powder for shakes. Oh, the sample size is .98 cents.

Also, organic quinoa, chia, and many other items are stocked now and a variety of gluten free options for those who are concerned about that. In addition the variety of organic produce has grown. I picked up some organic celery for the questionable price of $2.96. But, hope springs eternal and if Wal Mart is feeling and responding to the pressures of consumer requests, then maybe, just maybe organic and quality foods will be the norm , sold at affordable prices, rather than the exception. Fingers crossed that soon everyone will have access to price, eco and health conscious foods. But, for now, the hunt continues.
