A brand-new fossil has been discovered in Urzavos!

Thankfully the field researchers and paleontologists were able to recover an INTACT specimen!

What 'Mons do you think will come from this fossil?

It seems like I make it a habit to redraw this particular mega ever five-ish years! Here's the 2015 version, and the 2020 version.

I am obviously very excited about the news we got today!!

The Ice Starters of Urzavos - Arctic Arachnids

Base form: These cheerful 'Mons love to swing and dangle from high places on their icy webbing. Their webbing and fur is highly sought after.

Mid form: In an attempt to not be seen as frightening by others, it has attempted to walk upright like humans. Its clumsy attempts are very endearing.

Final form: These graceful 'Mons love to weave intricate webs into clothing for itself, then show of their hard work to any who will look at them. They prize novelty over function.

This 'Mon is a bulky physical attacker. They know moves such as Night Slash, Ice Fang, X-Scissor, and Stomp. They have a special move called Icicle Shears. It is an ice type physical move that cuts through the target's raised statuses, attacking it as if it had none. It can also cut through Substitute.

Jolly Jubilee - Bearthday!!

A 'Mon who happily ushers in joy and cheer on any celebration! They love to give gifts and hugs to those it meets. Its fur is soft to the touch and has a pleasant cool aura.

This 'Mon is a hardy tank. It knows moves such as Metronome, Gift, Wish, and Powder Snow. It's unique ability, Best Wishes, makes it so that Gift is always Super Effective when it results in an attack, or doubles the health regained if it heals.

Man-made Monstrosities - Opaliseed and Petrifern!

Revived from a Fragmented Frond Fossil and a Big Pearl, the once-useless fossil fragments have been given new purpose, causing a breakthrough in fossil revival technology.

Dr. Boroughs' breakthroughs continue to astound-- And worry.

Opaliseed tend to remain stationary while floating in the air. The bottom of their petrified, broken seed will droop and move, almost like a mouth.

Petrifern seldom move, choosing instead to stand in place. However, their limbs help them cover wide ground when they do move. The sound of cracking crystal is heard with every step.

These 'Mons are slow, hardy special attackers. They know moves such as Dazzling Gleam, Mean Look, Ancient Power and Focus Blast.
