KH: I just need to ask a few questions about Penelope Sharp. I understand you are her supervisor?

WM: Yeah. She's a good employee. Works fast, doesn't get involved in the office politics.

KH: We couldn't find any living contacts for her on record. Does she have someone for you to contact in emergencies? Anyone here she's close to?

WM: Sounds about right, considering what she's said about her family. She's friendly with everyone, but there's no one I'd say she's close to. Well. There is that other girl.

KH: Employee of yours?

WM: No. Tall, foreign lady, comes around every now and again to pick Penny up from work. She- no, nevermind.

KH: Ever talked with her?

WM: No. Well, once. Not a talkative person.

KH: Let's pivot. Did Penny ever mention anything about wanting to disappear or die? Or mention her life outside of work?

WM: She's a very upbeat sort of person. I don't think she would have killed herself.

KH: *nervous laughter* Well, sometimes people like that are under a shell of optimism, you know? It's hard to really say how someone is inside.

WM: I suppose you're right.

I was down in orlando to meet up with some friends over the weekend and one of the things I did while down there was went to a game store with one of my GM friends. He's definitely run more games in general than I have but not tried quite as many different systems

anyways, we were looking at miniatures and talking about how our shared main gripe with pf2e is the fact that roll bonuses climb really high really fast (with careful mention of the proficiency w/o level rule helping the situation greatly) when this guy we don't know who was standing behind us asked how many systems my friend had tried. (CoC was apparently not really relevant as it wasn't fantasy, he made no reaction to the mention of Lancer or Starfinder, 5e he expected)

He then started explaining the history of Paizo as a company (both me and my friend are quite familiar with Paizo's origins and history) and how that was why the rules were the way they were? Which on top of feeling kind of condescending was both weird and not really relevant to the discussion at hand.

We were talking about how from a game design perspective PF2e is kind of clunky and odd at times and he... I'm still not really sure what he was trying to convince us of

idk I'd never met someone like that irl before I honestly didn't know they were real

I've been back through listening to my old playlists again and god. Always by Saliva. Particularly the part where he says

Took off my ring today (the one I get for being part of the order of the engineer. It basically tells people that I agreed to not make things that are shoddy or will malfunction. The oath notably does not include any sort of ban from making weaponry or committing moral wrongs, just that if I'm making bombs they should work) not for a symbolic reason just because I was working out and the blood pressure change in my fingers afterwards was making it physically uncomfortable to wear (yeah I know I'm kind of fucked up physically) but then I started thinking about how even that could be read as symbolic and how functional self improvement made it difficult to wear the symbol of an oath once signed

I constantly move back and forth between "I have a dozen ideas and I need to do then all right now" (highly productive state) and "I need to finish these things I started" (I am capable of putting in the work of 0.2 people)

I am currently flopping back into the latter state...

Though I do think Second Hand is almost done. I just find my ability to write convincing dialog is poor (as usual). It'd be a lot easier if I was roleplaying it with someone... I need to start running Lancer again... I wonder if I could learn to run play-by-text? Or maybe I just need to get out and actually meet people in my area now that I've moved back from college (and away from everyone I know)... Hrmmmmgh

When posting Second Hand I wanted all the pieces separate but linked and while reblogging myself worked for that it also kind of feels like I made a giant mess of my page by reblogging myself repeatedly

I haven't been on tumblr very long so some of the posting etiquette/norms still elude me... would it be preferable to make separate posts that link to the previous one? If I put a ~Read More~ tag in at the top will it obscure the reblogs? idrk

Sometimes when Im enjoying sci fi media I like to think theres still just Lego City commercials, because nothing gives me a chuckle faster than imagining some far flung sci fi where people are still seeing commercials starting shit like "A Horus Manticore is loose in lego city!" Or "Necrons are trying to steal the Golden Throne Lego City", it just adds a weirdly specific feel that perfectly fits into and doesnt fit into any sci fi simultaneously
