headcanon | whitley schnee

semi-relevant.

whitley keeps soft, playful contact names for klein, winter, weiss, and willow but keeps jacques's ontact name strict and formal.

the soft and playful ones are from the sentimental side that still hold onto better days before the illusion was broken and he became aware from too young an age of how dysfunctional and broken his family actually was. he'd never admit what they were out loud, at least not until he starts repairing his damaged relationship with his mother and sisters.

jacques, in contrast, is something cold and formal because whitley, despite being a child and redirecting his anger and complex feelings towards someone else, knows jacques is the one to blame for the situation. though he may fawn over his father and default to people-pleasing tendencies around him, it's just a survival tactic for him. he's seen what defiance has been rewarded with and unlike the women of the house, he doesn't have the ability to fight back. yet.

(the above is also the reason he's hostile towards his sisters. he knows that deep down, no matter how cruelly he acts or lashes out from the abuse they all have undergone and shared, at the end of the day, they will never hurt nor punish him.)
