Now that I have your attention:

Some of you may know that I was recently in Palestine.

While there, my resolve to do everything in my power to help only strengthened, and I came back wanting to check in on a few of the campaigns I had adopted. To my disappointment, a couple of them were frozen or reported, even though they had been tirelessly vetted and verified.

The worst part is that there are talks of a temporary ceasefire happening again, with the Rafah border crossing opening once more, and my friend Fidaa fears that after all of the hard work, she might not be able to get her two young children (a toddler and a baby) out. She is their sole provider right now.

So we have set up a temporary fundraiser for her on Chuffed, while we work to get her funds unsuspended (if we can). We have to act fast. Please know that two things are true: giving even a very small amount helps, and if you are unable to right now, spreading this campaign and getting more eyes on it helps.

The goal is $15,000 USD. We're starting this off at $285. Please help me get eyes on this.

Hello, im ashraf azmi, im a father of a young man called ‘JAD ASHRAF AZMI’✅

Jad is a 9-year-old boy and the only child of his parents, their big dream was to have a baby after 7 years of marriage full of struggles and health problems, they had almost given up on the idea of having a child, but then JAD came and filled their lives with joy and happiness, he was a very smart kid, great in his studies, and loved by his friends and family.

But one day, while playing like usual, he suddenly felt dizzy and nauseous, then threw up and fainted, his parents quickly rushed him to the hospital, where they got a shocking surprise🚨💔the doctors discovered that JAD had irregular and strong electrical charges in his brain.

From that moment on, the family’s life changed completely, and JAD’S treatment became their top priority, they started an expensive treatment journey, they bought high priced medicine and even had to borrow money from relatives to cover the treatment costs, but unfortunately, the treatment wasn’t effective, and his condition worsened, he began suffering from daily, chronic seizures, which made it impossible for him to go to school or live his normal life🥹💔🚨

After some time, the doctor in charge of his case decided that the only solution was immediate brain surgery to remove the seizure focus, with a 99% success rate, this was the only option because JAD’S brain was not responding to the medication that kept his condition stable, the surgery, along with hospital and doctor fees, costs $45,000, which is a huge amount for his family, who are already facing financial pressure. Now, JAD needs your help.

Every donation, no matter how small, can give JAD a new chance at a better life and bring back his smile, JAD is the future, and he is his family’s hope that they cannot give up on, help JAD go back to school and live his childhood with joy and hope. DO NOT IGNORE THIS ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️

This house was bombed with all hatred. Here we are after the genocide. We have nothing... We lost our house, our work, and our car.😭😞

We were displaced to Rafah in a tent that could not accommodate 5 people, and after the displacement from Rafah, we were displaced to Mawasi Khan Yunis again. It was a very difficult period... but now we are in Mawasi Khan Yunis in a tent that does not protect us from the cold of winter or the heat of summer.😞😭

This is our tent, its floor is made of cardboard, as you can see, and I suffer from severe eczema due to the pollution of the air and the materials used, and the medicine is very expensive.😭💔

however may the holidays be going for the rest of us, at least we are privileged in that we are not facing an accelerated genocide; the same cannot be said for many people around the world and for Mahmoud Abu Hamam ( @ma7moudgaza2 ), the last 444 days in Gaza have been nothing short of a nightmare. In a recent post, Mahmoud writes about having to wake up before dawn to stand in line for bread, having to watch his mother carry heavy pails of water while he spends the whole day trying to get a net connection to campaign for his fundraiser. Mahmoud is tired of this life, he is tired of having to live through the horrors. He is terribly affected by the day when he was trapped in the Al-Shifa hospital and witnessed the massacre that was carried out by the occupation forces. He hates that he has no control on anything anymore and that every dream he has had about the future, was dashed on the whims of a settler colony.

Major update on Nour’s condition

First, I want to thank you all so much for your incredible generosity. Because of you, we were able to raise $4,000 USD in just 2 full days. I cannot put into words how remarkable this is. When we received word of the refund, that we lost more than $3000, Nour’s family and I were completely without hope. But you all accomplished the impossible.

It is only because of what you accomplished that I now believe we can meet our next goal.

Nour was able to undergo surgery. It was long and extremely difficult for the doctors. The surgery was ultimately successful. However, Nour’s condition is not resolved. The immediate danger has been met, but now Nour requires a new medication and diet to survive.

This medication will cost $2000 USD every week. Her new diet requires she consume 2 eggs a day, so 14 every week. As of right now, the average cost of eggs in Gaza is $8 USD. 2000 + (14 x 8) = $2,112 USD a week

I am writing today on behalf of Mahmoud Abu Hamam and mostly will be trying to reiterate the things he wants to share with you. 

Mahmoud Abu Hamam ( @ma7moudgaza2 ) is a computer system engineer and website designer specialist, who for more than a year has been trying to survive under a genocide. However, even amidst this terrible situation, Mahmoud has tried to hold onto his dreams and ambitions and he is extremely grateful to all of you, who have helped him achieve his goals.  As a token of appreciation, Mahmoud wanted to show you the beauty of his homeland which stretches from the river to the sea, and for this he has put his skills into use to design a website: it features many of the questions you have asked Mahmoud about Palestine. So please check it out as he has worked very hard on it 

Additionally I want to point out the Mahmoud and his family are struggling and recently it so happened that he has been unable to buy bread because of how costly it is. Traumatized in Ireland While my Family is Facing Death and Starvation in Gaza

I contemplate the happy faces of people around me here in Ireland and reminisce about the happy normal life my family and I had before the war. A life that turned into a distant memory for us and was replaced by an unending series of horrible nightmares.

Unlike my family in Gaza, people here have access to drinking water, all types of food, electricity, and a roof over their heads. Above all, they are safe, and I cannot help but wonder if they genuinely do appreciate these blessings in their lives enough.

People seem relaxed and laughing wholeheartedly around me in Ireland. I wish I could laugh too, but I am crushed way beyond recovery on the inside. I was evacuated by my Irish college after five months of living the horrors of war in Gaza. I hope you will never know what it feels like to live in constant fear and worry and be horrified by the most sickening and scary nightmares every single night while you are far away from your family in such circumstances.

When did my people in Gaza cease to be human beings worthy and deserving of a normal life? Has it become normal now for my family in Gaza to be starved and killed while the whole world is watching the genocide? If that is the case, then you will have to excuse me if I seek every avenue to bring them to Ireland and start a new normal life like all people here around me.

I was assured by the Irish Reugee Council (IRC) and lawyers in Ireland that there is hope I can reunite with my family in Ireland. In difficult times, it is hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. For me and my family, you are literally our light and hope for a better life.
