I hope all of the people writing fanfics that make Maddie the "bad" person get a hormonal disorder.
It sounds mean but they're awful and maybe they'd learn that hormonal depression/PPD are no jokes and aren't about other people (like Buck). It's an illness and a dangerous one as it puts the person suffering at risk of self-harm and suicide.

I hate to be ‘that guy’ about this but there definitely is a quota on gay couples in media right now. Not that I want that, but homophobic TV heads will definitely put a cap on the amount of LGBT+ people you can have in a show. Plus this is a FOX show, that FOX, you know the kind the former President watches. I do sincerely hope that someday soon these constraints will change, but for now it’s something we have to be aware of.
I’m far from happy about them shoving Mavid to Haiti, which felt to me like a definitive goodbye with that montage. But there’s a reason we never see Josh getting an actual boyfriend apart from dates (that end horribly), or Buddie becoming canon. And it’s cause network executives will constantly put a lid on that stuff to ‘please’ the general audience. It’s something that definitely needs to change immediately but it’s how things are currently unfortunately.

The show is seeing a drop in ratings so they decide now is the time to keep skipping weeks between episodes?
Are the trying to get the series canceled?

Favorite "it's okay for a fanfic but really weird in real life" moment?
I have several.
#1. Young kids trying to set grown adults up with each other.
#2. Couples feeling each other up in front of their friends/family.
#3. Friends/family being way too invested in the couple's sex life.
#4. Long heartfelt speeches with tons of TMI and cringy moments in it.

5x04 thoughts
*Tigger warning: suicide, self-harm*
If 5x04 showed us anything it's that we still have a long ways to go when it comes to understanding mental health.
It's encouraging to see how many people understand post-partum and other hormonal depression disorders (PMDD for example). It's less encouraging to see how confused people still are and how our education system could be so much better in this area.
If anyone is reading this and has been triggered by recent negative comments, discourse, fanfics, etc. that have not handled the topic of Maddie well, please reach out to me. I'd be happy to talk to you. Suicide and hurting yourself might seem like the only option but it isn't. I promise.
Peace and blessings. May this season continue to be amazing in how it tackles real-life struggles.

post-5.04, direct continuation of the balcony scene™️ and inspired by @vampirebuck’s post
*
“Here, just let me—”
Eddie shifts from his place against the railing, setting his beer down on the table and squatting between Buck’s legs. His hand, so gentle, comes up to take the ice pack from Buck’s, pressing it lightly against the bruise. This close Buck can see the worried line of tension strung across his shoulders, the faint pink scar of a chemical burn kissing his neck.
He nudges Eddie with his knee.
“Hey, um,” and Eddie’s wrist is so close to his mouth, probably feels the exhale on the words, “thanks. For coming by. I know the shift was rough for you.”
Eddie hums. “Hen took it a lot harder.”
“Okay.” Eddie shifts the ice pack, leaning even closer to inspect the bruise. Buck’s eyes close, almost involuntarily. The last time he was this close to Eddie he had just been shot. He opens his eyes again to dispel the image; commits, instead, the furrow on Eddie’s forehead, the gentle way he bites his lip, the steady feel of his hand, warm and solid and real on Buck’s knee, to memory. “You know, it’s not a competition. You’re allowed to take things hard too.”
Eddie returns the ice to Buck’s eye. “I know.”
“Do you? Because it sounds like you know what you’re talking about with Maddie. About being the one who needs help, for once.”
“That’s not—”
“The same?” Buck lifts a hand to Eddie’s where it’s holding the ice pack. He draws it from his face, meeting Eddie’s eyes despite the throb of pain in his own. “You’re right. You don’t have postpartum. But Eddie, seriously—are you going to look at me and tell me the panic attacks are over now Ana’s gone? That you have nothing to worry about anymore? Because from where I’m sitting—”
“You really don’t give up, huh?” Eddie rocks back on his heels, arranging himself so he’s sitting, cross-legged, on the cool concrete of the balcony. After a moment Buck does the same, pushing the chair to one side even as his knees creak in protest.
“You’re the one who said I like to fix things. Which—I don’t know what the word on your street is, Eds, but usually it’s people picking up the messes I’ve made.”
“You’re serious right now?” Buck shrugs and Eddie sighs, huge and sweeping. “Buck. I barely even knew you and you introduced me to Carla to help out with Chris. You offered Albert a place to stay—hell, all of us, during quarantine—and don’t even get me started on your parents, who really don’t deserve everything you’re doing to try and mend your relationship but you just—you do it anyway.” He huffs, the sound not quite a laugh. “And what do you call this? You’re the one with a black eye and still you’re asking me—” Eddie breaks off, shaking his head.
“Okay, well.” Buck swallows. He picks at the denim over his thighs. “When you put it like that.”
“Uh huh.”
“So tell me.”
“What?”
“You said I’m still asking you—what’s wrong. So tell me, Eds.”

Repeat after me
"Maddie's mental health issues are not about Buck."
Seriously. Post-partum is hell. It can lead to suicide.

#5 for the kisses and Malex
5. morning kisses
Alex lost track of time somewhere around day five, so he's not entirely sure how many days it's been since he's been home, but the sun was just getting ready to rise by the time he got home.
He'd spoken to Michael about it before he'd gone, that his next project for Deep Sky was going to have him busy for a week, maybe more, so he wasn't expecting to see Michael when he got home, but he'd parked his car right next to the truck and it took him a couple of seconds to realize that it wasn't a sleep deprived hallucination.
Warm and sweet feelings sweep through him, and he smiles, feeling his heart jump in his chest.
He gets out of the car and walks inside of the house, the bedside lamp in his room a beacon in the darkness.
He follows the light and stops at his open bedroom door to just stare at Michael.
He's sleeping on the left side of the bed, stretched out on his back, arms splayed out on either side of him.
He's in his boxers and a too tight faded band t-shirt that Alex uses to sleep, but he's passed out on top of the covers, telling Alex that he'd fallen asleep without meaning to.
Alex stares for a long moment, as Michael just breathes in and out, and let's the motion lull him to drowsiness until he almost falls asleep standing up. He shakes his head a little, waking himself up some more and walks to the bathroom.
He takes a quick shower, which still ends up taking about half an hour. And it's almost an hour after he'd parked his car in the driveway, that Alex makes his way towards his bed, using a pair of crutches.
He drops down on the bed, making it shake a little, and Michael makes a low sound, shaking his head from side to side, but doesn't wake up.
Alex sets his crutches to the side, leaning against the wall within easy reach, and then he crawls on top of the bed, moving towards Michael, and letting himself fall on his side right beside Michael.
He doesn’t second guess himself as he rolls over on top of Michael, hooking his leg over Michael’s thighs and one arm low on his waist, pushing his face into Michael’s neck.
Michael accommodates him, easily sliding his arm around Alex and sliding his other hand up and around the arm that Alex has around his waist.
Alex presses a kiss to the warm skin of Michael’s neck and closes his eyes, breathing out and getting comfortable.
Michael sighs and leans his head against Alex’s, and mumbles something, the words too sleepy and rough for Alex to understand, but he could feel the vibration of them on his lips.
Alex just presses another kiss to his neck, smiling when Michael makes a small moaning sound.
“Alex?” he asks, a rumbling sound at the back of his throat.
Alex just hums and gets even more comfortable on top of Michael.
“Alex,” Michael says again, this time considerably more awake than before.
Michael untangles himself from Alex, and Alex makes small protesting sounds at the back of his throat, but he lets Michael push him towards his back easily.
He feels Michael lay down on top of him, digging his chin into Alex’s sternum, his breath hot and heady against Alex’s chin.
Alex’s eyes flutter open when Michael doesn’t say or do anything else, and Michael leans up, bracing himself over Alex with his hands on either side of his face, so that he’s looking down at Alex, a sweet, sleepy smile on his face, eyes crinkled on the corners.
“You’re home,” he says, his voice still sleepy rough.
“Yeah,” Alex says, lifting one hand to the side of Michael’s face. “I am.”
He presses his fingers to Michael’s cheek lightly, and Michael leans in close, pressing a kiss to the corner of Alex's mouth. Alex lets his eyes fall shut, moving his face into the touch, and turns his head, brushing his nose against Michael’s, before Michael kisses him again, lips warm and plush against Alex’s mouth.
Alex makes a low sound against Michael’s mouth, and slides his hand to the back of Michael’s neck, tilting his head into the next kiss that Michael presses to his mouth.
Michael presses his forehead to Alex’s and Alex can hear the smile on his face when he speaks, “Good morning.”
“No,” Alex mumbles, shaking his head and letting his hands fall to the bed on either side of himself. “It’s bedtime.”
“I have a morning shift at the auto shop in about two hours,” Michael says, sounding rueful.
“That’s enough time for a nap,” Alex says, eyes fluttering open and then close as Michael presses a kiss to his cheek and then moves lower, pressing another kiss to his chin, and nudging Alex’s head back with his nose.
Alex moves his head accordingly and moans when Michael goes even lower and presses a kiss to Alex’s neck, before trailing a line down to his collarbones with his nose and biting down on the collar of his shirt to tug it aside before he presses a wet kiss to Alex’s collarbone.
Alex’s mouth falls open, and he groans, moving his hips restlessly from side to side as he drags his fingers across Michael’s scalp.
Michael muffles a noise against Alex’s throat, opening his mouth and sucking against the skin lightly.
Alex tugs on Michael’s hair, and Michael moves up willingly. Alex slides their mouths together in a wet, messy kiss, that sends heat spiralling up the back of his neck and settling low in the pit of his stomach.
Michael falls on Alex heavily, sliding one thigh up between Alex’s legs and moving his hands into Alex’s hair, tugging his head to the side as he pushes his nose into Alex’s cheek and opens his mouth to Alex’s licking against his lips and into his mouth.
Alex drags his hands out of Michael’s hair and slides both of his hands beneath Michael’s shirt, scratching his nails across Michael’s lower back.
Michael pushes in closer, his thigh dragging across Alex's half hard cock even that has taken interest in the proceedings even though Alex feels like he might just fall asleep if Michael stops kissing him.
Michael stops moving, staying close and heavy on top of Alex as he drags his hands to either side of Alex's face and holds him still.
He separates their mouths with a low wet sound, and Alex protests low in the back of his throat, tilting his chin towards Michael.
He feels Michael breathe in deeply, before he's leaning down again and kissing Alex, wet and languid, sliding his tongue teasingly into Alex's open mouth, and biting down on his bottom lip, just hard enough that Alex feels the pressure sending zings of pleasure down his spine.
Instead of stoking the heat, Michael keeps the kisses slow and long, until Alex's mouth feels hot and swollen and his jaw is beginning to ache, and his hands are warm and damp where they're pressed on the curve of Michael's waist beneath his shirt.
Alex lets his head fall back, separating their mouths with a low groan, and Michael presses his forehead to Alex's cheek, breathing hot and heavy against his chin.
Alex can't keep his eyes open, and he feels right on the edge of sleep and being wide awake.
Michael nudges his nose against the curve of Alex's jaw, and leans down to press a kiss right behind Alex's ear, nuzzling right there and slumping down against him.
Michael breathes out, content and sleepy and Alex just slides his hands to Michael's back, smoothing his fingers gently down the knobs of his spine, and humming, happy and pleased.

I feel like I should apologize to the Roswell NM writers... I had no faith in them (😅) but they came through.

I'm disappointed too. The writers are awful about having Alex interact with other characters, but I figured his own brother would be different.
Ok so as much as I love Maria and Greg and wanted them to be a couple I'm a little sad. One of the best things from last season was Greg and Alex starting to brotherly bond and Greg being there for Alex but this season it seems like he only has eyes on Maria and doesnt give a shit about Alex one bit!!
💖 Thoughts?! 💖

let's make this last forever
Kyle checks on Alex and asks Michael and Alex about their date.
Just a brief 309 coda.
***
“How was the date?” Kyle asks as he gets down on the floor, putting on a pair of gloves before examining Alex’s leg.
Alex looks over at Michael questioningly, so Michael just shrugs and answers Kyle’s question, “Best first date I’ve been on.” He’s deliberately excluding seeing Alex standing on that ledge, because he’s certain that was the most terrifying moment of his life, even knowing that he has telekinesis. But after? He’s pretty damn lucky.
“Yeah, we got to go all Hardy Boys,” Michael can hear more than see Alex’s teasing grin. God, he loves that grin.
“And I got your pants off,” Michael can’t resist adding, even if he had only helped Alex change into a pair of sweatpants after Alex had removed his prosthetic.
Alex actually lifts his head from Michael’s shoulder to look at him when he rolls his eyes and, yeah, Michael is completely in love with him.
