Hi this is prob a weird question, but do you use Krita for your art? [which is awesom btw] i found it through the tag i'm looking for art programs but im superindesivie and dont know what to look for! could you give me some advise? thanks have a great day/night!

Hi! Not a weird question at all, actually a great one. The drawings tagged with Krita were drawn with Krita and maybe some more that I forgot to tag. Most of the others were drawn with Paint Tool Sai.

As far as recommendations, you really can’t go wrong with Krita, simply because it is free, loaded with features, and the community keeps growing. The learning curve with Krita is a little steeper than Paint Tool Sai. With Krita you might have to play with settings a little bit and watch a couple of tutorials, but the long term reward is worth it. Go to Krita’s website and read the tutorials. There is also a Krita section on reddit that inspires me to learn Krita when I see all the great art it can produce.

Paint Tool Sai is much simpler out of the box, and can produce beautiful work. If you can afford the 45$ for Paint Tool Sai, I’d say it’s worth it.

Don’t get caught up in the tools you use to draw. You are the artist that brings the tools to life. I’ve seen beautiful work made from many other programs, like Medibang too, which is also free. On the ipad there is Procreate and Art Studio.
